Where did this come from? Is this a GM sourced product?

The problem is much more simple than anyone has elluded to whether it be on this board or the evening news. Credit is America's problem from GM down to the individual. We had such a long period of expansion that most people became comfortable with debt. Speicifically, ARM loans and 72, 84, and even the occasional 96 month auto loan. American companies are just as bad at over borrowing and under saving. It is truly a societal issue that no one wants to tackle because so much money in America today is made from credit not from a product or production. My observation is that the resolute peak of our national debt issue was when after 9/11 President Bush said "America use your credit cards and spend on America and boost our economy." Just about the worst idea ever. Things aren't that bad folks. GM will pull it out now that we have all realized bad things do still happen in our economy.

Seriously did anyone think that people who post that much wouldn't peter out and quit eventually? I am sure knowing Fly he didn't think it would ever be used and if it did get used it was probably a post wh***. Congrats on being here that long Ocn.

Very nice engine. This would be a lot of fun if GM had some AWD cars to put it in.

Insurance is not to blame and neither are doctors. Companies willingness in the past to sponsor insurance to provide lower cost to its employees sheltered employees from feeling the actual cost of healthcare. To put it simply before you blame someone else for the "cost" of healthcare ask yourself this: "How much is the cost of that service? Is is elective? Is there a better price?" The lack of the consumer asking these questions inflates the cost of healthcare. A government system without consumer accountability would be no better.

Remind me again why it is the responsibility of anyone but yourself to spend money on YOUR healthcare? Government or otherwise.... If movies and games like Grand Theft Auto have multi-million dollar debuts in what many are calling a recesion (but it isn't) why don't they first spend that money on insuring their health? I'll tell you... everyone expects healthcare as a handout from the company you work for or the government. It is rediculous. Pay your own way. Your insurance benefits no one but you. GO GM!

I think you can see clearly that the Tundra is not only being fleeted but, a flop.

Call me crazy but, I think the lock unlock button may be for the hood... NM... looked at the door panel pic again and see no lock/unlock button. Central it is. Bummer. Saturnish if you ask me.

Alamo, National, and Enterprise only had Tundra's on the lot in Houston. I think I know how Toyota posted best ever...

Honda seems to be up here with more Accord sales than ever. Hard to believe they are down.

While I think you know that what you said is a well known fact, GM's aim for Buick in coming years is to compete with Lexus. It has been stated by GM representatives repeatedly in the past.

As stated in the other thread for this vehicle... this Lexus RX wreaks of GM of yore. Offers nothing new and is a quick answer to a product question no one asked.

You know why this "looks" like a Buick? Becuase this is a thinly guised version of the Toyota Harrier or as we know it the Lexus RX. Buick is supposed to be the American Lexus and well, I would say it is a form of flatery for Toyota to then copy it back. On another note, Toyota using thinly disguised versions of their vehicles for their two brands sounds alot like GM of yore. Down they start to go...

My challenge to MT: Name ONE... ONE... aspect or feature of the Tundra that is not available from another manufacturer.

Okay, so I bought a new GMT so hear me out... we should give Toyota a bit of a break. GM did have rather bonehead problems with the T800's: -Sealed front bearing packs that weren't well sealed so they would score the spindle; (no recall just a part redesign and a TSB) -Tailgate supports; -The emphamis "piston slap;" I am sure that I could think of more but, the truth is Toyota has NEVER produced a full size truck this size or complex. New drivetrain, suspension, plant and all... now that aside, I would expect it from early to mid 90's GM but not "Jesus drove a Camry" Toyota. Hope they can build something else in the San Antonio plant when they stop building so many Tundra's.

The Matrix now looks like a much larger replacement for the Toyota (ooops) Scion xA which now looks like a xB which looks like the xD, xA, and MatriX.

I am glad to see GM experimenting with colored interiors. I thought for awhile all we would get is tan and gray...

Wise sage... As a consumer "liquid" theory is best. As a business owner/investor/employee/etc, debt is great. What has fueled much of the market growth is redistribution of wealth as opposed to creation of wealth. Most of that takes the form of debt. All in all, the other problem so many are having is that healthcare has not gotten cheaper. Housing has been inflated for so long people have lost touch with what the "actual" cost of their home is. Cars, cars, cars... we all love them and that is why we are here but, honestly can you name 20 people that have owned their current car for longer than 5 years??? Consumer spending it seems has been on the rise even if the goods are cheaper than they were in the 70's (adjusted for inflation of course). It all adds up to debt.

Sure this won't be like the Tahoe and be a Sept. 08 launch '10 product? Come on... the design is totally finished, grill, interior, everything... I am sure this is powertrain and suspension tuning. Has to be closer than 1Q09.

This looks like an ;09 product. Way to polished to be '10. I would bet that the reports Buick has some releases this year are true.

Honestly, is anyone shocked it is making money??? Toyota made a total of two frames for this truck both of which are utilizing 20 year old inexpensive construction methods. Furthermore, the people assembling them aren't paid THAT much considering the Detroit 3 have been saddled with UAW stuff (not looking for an argument just stating truth). Anyone who has spent a measurable amount of time in this truck knows that the materials are not typical Toyota top notch. This is no suprise, the truck was literally designed around discounting and over designed to compensate for it. The only REAL reason people choose to buy them are A) design; B) Toyota's reputation for quality; C) the deal; D) the 5.7L that clearly is intended to speak to old 350 owners. I for one am not suprised it is making money.

I hope for our solder's sake that they have more anti-roadside bomb platting.

The whole concept of "luxury" hybrids is really a joke. If you REALLY were all about conservancy A) you wouldn't drive a car, you would walk or take a motorcycle of some sort; B) even if you HAD to have a car you would buy a compact fuel efficient car like a Fit or Yaris. So, the idea that "people will pay for saving the environment" that Toyota lives by is really a joke. They peddle the Lexus hybrids as a status symbol and therefore comand a higher price. Its the car business not the sierra club.
