Range dropping from 600 miles to 360 miles?
So you're saying it's not acceptable for the Volt driver to add stabilizer but it is acceptable for a Silverado clean diesel driver to have to add urea?

Passed. Not as nice as I hoped for....the repaint killed it for me.

Range dropping from 600 miles to 360 miles?
Interesting how these GM engineers have never heard of STA-BIL fuel stabilizer. Add a small reservoir to refill like washer fluid and measure/dispense into fuel tank as needed. Warning light to refill as needed. No worse than the Urea treatments they're talking about for the new clean diesels.

Project Camino!
I didn't win the auction, but today got a "2nd chance offer" since the winning bidder couldn't pay. I'm still haggling with the guy, but am try to go for a personal inspection tomorrow or Thu. If I buy it, I'll share :AH-HA_wink:

G8 Sighting
That's my theory on why Pontiac moved to the "Gx" names -- easier for Avis to print on the key tags!

Report: GM mulls job cuts, sale of brands
Interesting. This weekend I did hit some GM lots and the G8 GT and Sierra were all that interested me. Still not a fan of the CTS or the Silverado, but GM doesn't seem to be in the business of catering to buyers like me. The VW GTI was probably the most interesting car I found besides the G8.

So, I need a junkyard
I am not a fan of the '68 Grand Prix, but this is likely the one you want: Link to Ad

So, I need a junkyard
These guys were one of the few places I could find sheet metal for my '68 Bonneville (it's not reproduced)...though that was about 10 years ago. They appear to have even more inventory now!

G8 Sighting
I saw a G8 GT in Ignition Orange at a local Pontiac store this weekend with a $5K mark-up on it! Dealer also had 2 base G8s without mark-up. Another dealer had a Panther Black GT with no mark-up.

So, I need a junkyard
Here's one: El Camino They appear to have about 4 more '77 El Camino's as well.

Project Camino!
I suspected not, but saw their ad in HMN and have my eye on something else on eBay that made me wonder if repro woodgrain was available.

Spied: 2010 Chevrolet Silverado HD
A good start in lessening the ugliness of the Silverado. Next step lose the weird fender contours and slab sided doors. Finally fix the tailgate and lose the big black plastic surround on the rear bumper. Finish it off by extending the side molding to span the cab and front part of bed up to the wheel well.

2009 Challenger Brochure hits the web
I priced out a Stone White R/T with 6MT and the 5.7L Hemi, sunroof, HID headlights, 27J and AFC packages, etc for $36,015. Though I might consider an SRT-8 and the B5 Blue is very intriguing to me!

Lutz: '09 Pontiac G8 GT gets optional Tremec 6-speed stick
Let's also not forget the manual transmissions GM offered weren't very good, which might also be a way to explain the low take rate....and lacked attention to detail. The base Chevy HHR is the poster child for this -- as is the Caddy CTS with 4 pedals on the floor.

Done. There wasn't a spot to list my new import purchases since 1998: - 1999 Mazda Miata 10th Anniversary Edition (6MT) - 2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE (5MT) - 2005 BMW 330i ZHP (6MT) -- from the nice people at BMW Individual and the letter M oh and my 2004 Harley Fatboy fuelie
