PM Awards GM 3.9 V-6 For Breakthrough Technology
3800 needed a supercharger to make the same power as the 3900 does NA. It is lighter and easier to package. We could see the 60° V6 block expanded to a big block and get a 4.0+ L V6, not likely but possible. You will see the 3V tech on the 60° in a few years with DOD that will get much better mileage numbers and power numbers and it will still be a better engine. My only complaint is that it is an iron block, and that isn't much to complain about.

2006(?) Chevrolet Epica
Hmmm... This thing looks really good. Let me talk something out here: Malibu gets bigger on next verion of Epsilon, right? Impala moves to large RWD or CHI with next refresh, right? That would leave a small midsize sedan gap in Chevy's lineup. Just above Cobalt and below Malibu. Could we see this in the states? The strategy works well in Chevy Canada now imagine if the 'Bu moves up AND so does Impala.

Kerkorian: Give aide GM seat
I don't trust him at ALL. I think he wants to break off GMAC and get the easy money from the sell and then Poof he is gone.

Larger Engines in the Corvette?
Why destroke something to have to rev the piss outta it to make any power? Leave it at its current bore and stroke and make the same power with less stress. In this case the larger displacement motor is a better fit because they would have the same exterior size. BTW 2.5L x 8000 rpm=20,000 3.9 x 5100 rpm=20,000

Random Thread Part II
Those prototypes were actually based on a 1985 model Fiero give people an idea of how far GM thinks ahead in terms of design.

SRX is raining glass
Like how they are handling the bucking Tc issues. They blame it on the driver and say that it happens to all of them. I personally wouldn't want to hear that from any dealer, much less hearing it from Toyota(scion) techs like a mag that tested the car did.

Random Thread Part II
Why would GM call a concept a 1990 when it was shown in 1987 or 88? Especially when the 1988 model was the last year? It was covered on Fiero.nl about 1.5 years ago. If you go search you can find it.

Yenko (Please Explain)
Yeah the 427 was an Iron block. The only all aluminum BBC was the 427 ZL1 and only a handful of those were built, all in 1969.

Larger Engines in the Corvette?
Yeah when you try to make an OHV motor into an OHC it just ends up HUGE. I have a 3.4 DOHC and my wife's Malibu has the 3.1 OHV. Let me tell you the OHC is Giant compared to the OHV.

Larger Engines in the Corvette?
Not displacement but it does increase physical size.

Random Thread Part II
Nobody can because all prototypes were 1989 models. Production ended in 88 why would there be a 1990 model?

A few notes to cellular customers
Had Cingular as my first phone and had great customer service then I had sprint on a 3rd party plan and loved it. Great customer service even when I cancelled it. 3rd party plan ended and went back to Cingular, everything went ok for about 9 months and then wife starts new job and talks a lot on the road. $400 bill. Ok that is her fault and we pay it. Next month $400 bill. Turns out she was roaming more than she thought. Paid $200 and got Verizon because they have ok, not great but OK coverage in our area and they have IN. Next month Cingular makes calling to all other Cingular customers free. BTW customer service was horrible with Cingular when I tried to cancel. I got hung up on 2 times when I told them that I wanted to cancel and so when I called the 3rd time I just asked for a supervisor. The rep said 'I need to know why before I transfer you.' I said 'No you don't. NOW get me a supervisor.' Supervisor gets on 'Is there a problem I can help you with?' Yes I have been hung up on 2 times when I tell people I want to cancel my account and I want YOU to do it for me. Total quiet for about 30 sec. OK let me do that for you. 2 minutes later DONE. I will NOT go back to Cingular, EVER.

Larger Engines in the Corvette?
I bet the 8.1 big block would fit into the XLR. The N* is as wide as the BBC, but I don't know about height. It would be fun to try with a wrecked XLR. :D

SRX is raining glass
Were these warm weather states? I am thinking that the glass heats up and expands. This puts pressure on the outer parts of the sunroof so that when the body flexes it puts to much stress on the glass and them it shatters. Ok since I solved the problem GM has to give me a new SRX with the new glass peice and I will drive it around for a while and make sure that it works.

Totally New buick.com
The site is much easier to navigate now. It would be interesting to see if GM will integrate the logos of the Buick, Pontiac, and GMC into the same 'brand' logo.

Totally New buick.com
I hope I was on it a few weeks ago and took a survey. I wonder if my input helped any with it. Gotta go check it out and see.

SRX is raining glass
Seems like from this it was just 1 incident. Could have been a rock or something it it along the edge, where tempered glass is most fragile. Who knows?

Is a Canyon refresh coming anytime soon???
I think GMNA wanted a smaller truck so people could step up into the bigger GMT800 if they needed to tow anything large. More profit in the 800s than the 360s.

C&G Spy Shots: The Next ION!
Actually most people who care about handling will test drive it, the SRT-4, the RSX-S, Civic SI, Evo, and WRX or STI. Those who don't care much about handling will test the Base or midlevel: Cobalt, Civic, Neon, Focus, Lancer, or Imprezza. The didn't make a car 'just good enough' they made the best for the buck, that is totally different. If YOU choose to judge them without driving them then you are just being stupid.

C&G Spy Shots: The Next ION!
Have you driven a Cobalt SS yet? They do corner work better than most other sport compacts including the Acura RSX.

Is a Canyon refresh coming anytime soon???
Actually I think that a bad decision was made in program development. The GMT360s were supposed to have trucks to accompany them. But someone within GM thought it was a bad idea. So the idea was nixxed. Imagine if we would have gotten a GMT 360 based regular cab with the 4.2 i-6 and 5.3 DOD a year later. How much better would GM have been in the 'midsize' truck race? I say move Colorado AND Canyon AND H3 to GMT 360 instead of the refresh and get it overwith.
