Industry News: California Rules 15% Of New Vehicles Sold In 2025 To Have Zero Emissions
Automakers are in for the first time ever. The government is willing to subsidize for a change. The five worst air basins in the United States will benefit. California is forcing a lead in technology again. Remember as California's economy goes so does the rest of the nation.

C/D: 2014 Chevrolet Silverado / GMC Sierra Spy Photos
Having driven a dodge with the small door for work where 2 suitcases and 2 backpacks and 2 ice. Heats were going in and out of the back seat for 6 months almost every day, I have to say it wouldn't have mattered how that door opened. You get used to it. In fact when asshats would park close it would have been a huge pain to have to open two doors to get my stuff in.

Chevrolet News:Some Chevrolet Dealers To GM: No Thanks To More Volts
True they have an automotive program, but in this case, if the dealerships are not wanting to sell the cars, then sell them direct via Costco at a set price and then you just pay for the shipment cost of having the car delivered via truck to your home. GM could and Costco make a fortune this way. Unfortunately most states have franchise laws that require vehicle sales through licensed dealers. Remember what happened when Chrysler opened the corporate dealer in Los Angeles?

Costco has an automotive program that you deal with participating dealers with. The price has been prenegotiated. That is how I leased my Regal.

While this is true, Fresno/Clovis is a community that is the perfect size for the volt to be able to tool around on electricity.

I should say too that the article says Hedrick has sold 10 Volts but that GM is pushing them on him too fast.

GM considering Holden shut down: Weatherill
Because Holden sells cars on every inhabited continent for one thing. Okay, but all of those vehicles sold by manufactured by "Holden" could be made in other places at a cost comparative basis. Last time i checked, Holden is only sold in Australia. Yeah, they have Chevrolets in NA and middle east and Vauxhalls in UK, but manufacturing in the US might make more sense.

GM considering Holden shut down: Weatherill
So what happens when GM starts spreading out the Alpha and Omega platforms to Chevrolet and Buick? They will be made in North America and shipped to other places is my guess. So it is just as easy to slap a holden badge on one and ship it to Australia as it is to slap a Pontiac badge on one and send it to the US. (I know there are more differences, but you get the point). So why build anything in Australia if they are importing everything but the Zetas?

GM considering Holden shut down: Weatherill
American workers made concessions, Opel is next, and if Holden wants to survive they should consider it too.
