Late-Season winter storm on its way...
It was 71 degrees today when I had lunch at the Blue Parrot outside on the deck with friends in Wilmington, Delaware. Tonight rain and more rain. Tomorrow's forcast is for snow during the day and more snow tomorrow night. There is no justice!

More car sellers are doing it for themselves
The days of parking the ol’ Family Truckster at a Safeway lot with a Day-Glo orange “For Sale” sign in the window may be numbered. Increasingly, consumers are taking advantage of a growing online market to sell their cars themselves rather than accepting a lowball trade-in offer from a dealer. The trend gained momentum last year as consumers found car dealers especially stingy with their trade-in offers because they were struggling to resell the fuel-thirsty SUVs, pickups and large sedans that consumers were dumping as gas prices soared. By the end of the year private-party sales represented 34 percent of the used-car market, up from 18 percent a year earlier, according to a report by CNW Marketing Research Inc. That put individual sales on par with sales by franchised dealers and ahead of those by independent used car dealers. Link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17612315/

The 'Nuevo' 2007 Chevrolet Cheyenne
Yeah, I saw that a while ago in the English form, my only complaint now as it was then to the powers that be is, that there are no early or mid 60's trucks represented.

2007 GMC Yukon XL Denali
AT A GLANCE: 2007 GMC YUKON XL DENALI Date in fleet: March 7-14 Base price: $51,085 As tested: $58,020 Drivetrain: 6.2-liter V8; awd, six-speed automatic Output: 380 hp @ 5500 rpm, 417 lb-ft @ 4400 rpm Curb weight: 6038 lbs. Fuel economy (observed): 16.55 mpg Options: Navigation, AM/FM stereo, MP3 compatible CD/DVD player ($2,250); 20-inch chrome aluminum wheels ($1,995); rear-seat entertainment system ($1,295); sunroof ($995); rearview camera system ($250); heated steering wheel ($150) What an enormous vehicle. I say this not based on the curb weight or exterior dimensions, but because I managed to put a set of four 35-inch tires in the back and all I had to do was fold the third row of seats up. There was no special way to pack the tires in to make them fit. I simply picked up each tire and set it inside the SUV. The kicker is I still had room for more cargo. Not another tire, but there was plenty of extra room back there. Link: http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...12016/1528/FREE

Why are you still an auto enthusiast?
For me it started when I was 5 years old, My father was a US diplomat in Germany. Someone on his staff had a 1967 GTO, it was red. I can still to this day see that Metal Pontiac Emblem on the hood of that car and those small hood scoops. I was hooked at 5 on Pontiacs. I started collecting books on Pontiacs over the years. When I was 16 I went to spend the summer with my cousins in Florida. I worked that whole summer, I had two jobs and saved every dime I got. By the end of summer I had about 4k saved up. My uncle's neighbor's wife had MS and it had gotten so bad that she could no longer drive. Her car was a 1969 Pontiac Custom-S, which was garaged kept and well mantained over the years by her husband. It had 35K original miles on it and that was all. He came over one day to tell my uncle that he was going to sell the car and put an ad in the local paper. I had to have that car, I was on a mission. I asked how much he was going to ask for the car, he replied he really didn't know but thought he would be able to at least 5k for the car. To make a long story short I decided I wanted that car and my uncle's neighbor decided to sell it to me for 4K. My uncle signed as my guardian and got it registered for me and my father paid the initail car insurance payment for me until I got it home. I went to work after school to pay for gas and insurance and since that day I have always driven a Pontiac. I drove that car, through high school and college and still have it to this day, she is still well loved. Pontiacs I have owned or own 1969 Pontiac Custom-S (this is a model that was only made in 1969) The year I was born! I still have it 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SE 1999 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT I love Pontiacs and no Holden rebadge will ever be a Pontiac to me, sad but true!

Decision coming on $100K+ Caddy
I didn't vote for anything here. GM needs to roll that development money that they would have wasted on a 100K car, into the current Cadillac cars that they have onboard now. Get them right first, then maybe, just maybe!

GM Releases Delayed Earnings Report
Yes, so was EDS, GM Hughes, Delphi, Detroit Diesel, etc, at the time they sold them off too. GM has sold off 51% of GMAC so it's just a matter of time before it all goes. So some decisions were good, some were bad, as EDS stock and Delphi tanked almost as soon as GM cut them loose.

GM Releases Delayed Earnings Report
Well they made money because they sold off GMAC, not much left to sell off except core business units now.
