The final UAW local union ratified a new labor agreement with American Axle on May,22,2008 ending a work stoppage that affected appoximately 30 GM plants in North America. As previously disclosed , the work stoppage at American Axle resulted in a loss of appoximately 100,000 production units in the first quarter of 2008 , which had estimated impact on earnings before tax of appoximately $0.8 billion. GM has reached a deal on the local contract with UAW Local 31 at the plant Tuesday evening , company spokesman Dan Flores said. Car and Driver info is wrong. W-Body LaCrosse production ends in GM's 4Q. The Epsilon II LaCrosse(for both North America and China) production starts in January.

GM North America lost $611 million, thats with an $800 million hit to North America from the UAW strike against American Axle , so it looks like North America may have made money IF it wasn't for American Axle and the UAW.
