Used to be State Farm, switched to AAA, and regret it. Yes, AAA is cheaper, but their customer service sucks. I miss having an agent to talk to..
  2. I think it's similar to the Titan's... you toggle a switch mounted on the lever. And, hey, the 7-series, S-class, M-class, and R-class don't have floor shifters either.
  3. Yep, the body guard of Di who was in the front passenger seat survived the crash. He was the only one wearing a seat belt. It looks like they cut off the roof, btw.
  4. Soft {does not equal sign} good and hard {does not equa signl} bad.
  5. Bold styling is useless without quality.
  6. Well, at least it has character, which is missing in many new cars. I forgot to mention that it's also rather expensive for what it is; a MINI Cooper S or the new Civic Si cost about the same, but are better built and more thoughtfully designed.
  7. Wow, that looks really good. Only the door cutlines look slightly awkward. Honda could use something like that, a car larger than the Accord to compete with the Avalon, 500, and Lucerne.
  8. Whoooops... yeah, you're right. The front edges of the hood aren't creased or anything. But at least we can see (sort of...) how dangerous an SUV/truck with a higher frame rail can be to a lower car like the Cobalt.
  9. Hmm, yes, I think so. The Escape and Tribute were class-leading when they came out, but now they've been tarnished by time. Even from the rendering, the A-pillars back look dated. The front end has some interesting ideas... the orange paint and wheel design remind me of the Range Rover Sport.
  10. I think the new TT will be more conservative than that, which disappoints me, because I like this a lot. I like how the Germans are moving away from their stodgy, form-following-function designs and toward more emotional expressions.
  11. One sashimi, different lengths.
  12. It's difficult when all you can do is change the sheetmetal on a preexisting car. But yes, the front end could have been made better, regardless of proportions. The Lucerne looks pretty good in some angles, but weird from the side.
  13. Another example of height mismatch... whatever hit it went clean past the structural beams. Thankfully, it wasn't at a higher speed.
  14. I don't think its any chrome, plastic or real, all together. Seems more like high gloss black paint.
  15. From Edmunds...
  16. Just a clarification, the "Personally, I think it looks great, *inside* and out. I'd consider buying one if its safety improved" was a comment from me; it wasn't part of the review. Overall, it seemed very positive.
  17. Yep, my sister goes to Art Center, but for graphic design instead. She came back from Denmark recently after setting up the INDEX summit thing in Copenhagen. Being a private school, it isn't cheap... tuition is $36K/year, not including living expenses or supplies.
  18. Not just mass, but height and strength, too. For instance, the structure of an older SUV or light truck will override the structure of a normal car during a frontal impact. And structural integrity is important so that the passenger cell stays intact, regardness of mass. For blackviper... :P Even with ABS!
  19. I know!!! Even the new 9-5 has them. Wish the CXS's front bumper (and fog lights) is shared with the rest of the Lucernes. As far as the grille, it doesn't look like chrome to me, either.
  20. I was expecting something like the STS's keyless go.. not that it's useful or anything, but hey, it's cool.
  21. I hope they let enough of the Northstar noise in. Can't wait to drive one!
  22. Yep... pretty much all cars look pretty decent in the government's frontal crash. The differences start to appear with the IIHS tests.
  23. You'd need a 15 star crash rating to survive this (pic: http://www.odyclub.com/forums/attachment.p...=&postid=204469) It was driven by a man in his 60's who apparently doze off or took his eyes off the road. It was during the morning, but there was no fog. The big rig, which broke down, was parked on the rightmost lane. This would have probably saved their lives: http://world.honda.com/HDTV/news/2003-4030520a/index.html

It hasn't won anything for the longest of times... in fact, the last time it won a comparo was back in 2002 (Motor Trend), when it was just redesigned.
