Your MPG
Somehow managed to eek out 28.8 mpg in the Legacy. It's odd because this is first time I've used the A/C for the majority of a tank. This car baffles me.

Perspective shift
CRX... recent 50/50 driving mix... 48 mpg. Though, I can't brew my own gasoline.

Inflation over the last 10 years... $10k in 2000 = $12.5k in 2010.

Buick Regal GS Gets Rated
For comparison's sake again: Subaru Impreza WRX STI*: 17/23, 305 hp Mitsubishi Lancer Evo*: 17/23, 291 hp Honda S2000: 18/24, 232 hp Dodge Caliber SRT4: 19/27, 285 hp MAZDASPEED3: 18/26, 263 hp Regal GS: ??/28, 270 hp ... and I'd venture that the Regal GS is more liveable day-to-day than any of these five cars... and not just because it's a size class or two bigger, either. * - yes, they have AWD. But yes, they're still lighter than the Regal. All of those cars are also much faster, some by over 2 seconds to 60, based on GM's claims.

Stripped the Golf of any good parts, and consolidated my VW parts collection. The Golf is now ready for the scrap yard, as is the Jetta.

Since bankruptcy
I think the only vehicles that have any real post-bankruptcy influence are the Sonic and Malibu. Even those are likely to have development time that stretched back before the $h! hit the fan. So really, I don't think we've seen any 100% post-bankruptcy vehicles yet.

GM Unveils New Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan Concept at Buenos Aires
This looks more akin to the Versa, whereas the Sonic looks to compete with the good subcompacts. Perhaps, in that way, it would make a good $10k bottom feeder, but not much else.

Official: 2012 Chevrolet Sonic Gets A $14,495 Pricetag
I'm not sure if its clearly $2000 better than the Accent or Rio, though, it will seem to come with much more standard equipment in base form.

6.7? That's not very impressive. Indeed.

Armor All
I'm going to try some dish soap diluted with water. After looking up what Woolite is and realizing its just laundry detergent, I figure dish soap should have do the same deed. It seems others have used it, as well. So... here goes.

Polished my exhaust tips. Next up... removing that pesky armor all.

Armor All
How the f**k do you remove it? The Legacy has been Armor All'd sometime in the past and I've been having a hell of a time trying to remove the shine. The automotive interior cleaners and similar protectant sprays with a 'matte' finish do nothing to actually remove that god-awful stuff. Any solutions that won't have negative effects to the interior materials?

When your neighbors annoy you
I never use A/C unless its raining or my friends bitch about the heat.

The Official Junkyard Thread
The need the following in order of importance from 2005-2007 Subaru Legacy/Outback: 1) 2) 3) I'm also looking for a driver side door panel, but due to the size I might be better off finding one locally. ------------------------------- On a wish list of sorts, if anyone ever happens across a Spec.B interior that hasn't already been snatched, meaning, the seats and door panels are still there, let me know. I might sell a car or two for one, especially the red leather.

What did you do to your ride today?
Aimed my headlights the other night. I'm now no longer blinding people with my left projector. Also upped the aim of the fog lights a bit to make them more useful.

Went to the junkyard yesterday
We probably could use a thread for stuff people are looking for in JYs... something that can be easily printed to take with us on a JY trip. Good idea. I'm always in need of something but the 'yards in my area are money hungry and like to charge you new prices for used parts.

iOS5 and iCloud
Android is okay... but its buggy. Many Android phones have been plagued with issues such as random deletions of all your messages, ringtones, etc. Some seem to have problems with suddenly rebooting as well. All in all, iOS is more stable. It's also works with more fluidity and precision than Android. With that said, iOS is not nearly as innovative and lacking customization. It's a simplistic platform by all means. Not to mention, itunes is both a blessing and a curse. It's great for accessibility to downloading and syncing, but then your stuck with the prices associated with such. Android offers many apps at a reduced cost or even no cost whatsoever like the aforementioned Nav app. And then there is the whole issue of widgets that iOS completely foregos.

Your MPG
Well, color me shocked. I just filled up today after work. The result is an astounding 48 mpg in a what I'd call a rough 50/50 mix between city and highway driving (pizza delivery).

Washing the engine bay
I usually just wipe down all the plastic parts with an interior spray. I generally don't touch the engine itself, though, I would think hosing down the engine bay with running water would be a bad idea.
