Toyota VP Frustrated by Negative Media
There IS a god!
-
a little bit moody
The Civic Center should be pretty cheap since it's about 100 years old and a freakin' DUMP. Hope the show goes well, though.

Well, I'm screwed
... which is pretty f**ked up in the first place since THEY'RE the ones that want THEIR money if the truck is sold and put the lien on the thing in the first place.

Perot hopes Whitacre has better luck fixing GM
I'm still not sold on Whitacre... Part of me wants to like him because he is an outsider and appears to be a great business man. But part of me still thinks he's just in this largely for the ink and still has NO idea how the auto industry works. I mean, really, 90 days to exit bankruptcy and show positive results? That's an impossible task for anyone. Not to mention, why did Whitacre need to be the "face of GM" in those commercials? Joe public doesn't know him from Adam.

The Chevrolet Spark
So, you're saying The Media killed the automakers? Careful friend, we all know how people take to that little dose of reality around here... I don't really consider pasty-faced pencil pushers that have their degrees in english and bitch and moan about interior plastics "Car Enthusiasts"

The Chevrolet Spark
LMAO... Yeah, because all of that competition didn't create better cars with better engines and technology. LOL... Ok. Talk about paranoid. I get along just fine on the "weekends" and 4 of my family's 7 vehicles are "drag racin', fuel suckin', insurance eatin'" V8s... What a defeatist attitude... What happened to you, man? I can't WAIT to buy my 5th V8! (And my 6th and 7th and 8th...) I mean, it doesn't matter that much when all the REST of our money goes to a war to rebuild countries that hate us, fund the LARGEST communist regime in the universe and pad the pockets of a "technological" society that is slowly, yet BLATANTLY assassinating our industries. And FWIW, those of us that own those ghastly V8s often drive more efficient cars most of the time as well (Like me, and my 35 MPG PZEV Focus)

The Chevrolet Spark
Depends... If the price of gas rises gradually, then all will be well. If the price of gas is SKYROCKETED by bull$h! media paranoia and greedy assholes on Wall Street, then yes, I agree.

A list of top candidates for GM's next CEO
Meh... I'm not a big believer in Ghosn. He's done a great job with Nissan, but GM isn't Nissan and it doesn't need to try to be Nissan either. I would LOVE to see Penske take the reigns! He's very good at reviving companies. To me, Farley is still too unproven. He started Scion (which wasn't hard to do, after all, he had a TOYOTA budget and a public that already adored the company) And so far, he hasn't impressed me at Ford. We might be talking now... But I'm willing to bet that he won't leave Ford. I really hope we get some new blood in there. I DO NOT think Whitacre is any better than Fritz. We need YOUNG, NEW talent.

Chevrolet Spark more details released
The Beat was such a sexy little car... But the more I see the Spark, the more I hate it. The wheels are typical Chevrolet and unfortunately typical GM as a whole as well: ungodly CHEAP looking with no real design applied. They completely effed up the profile of the car by making it a 5 door. They completely effed up the tumblehome and made it look slab sided. The front of the car it adorned with what would normally be a nice touch in the chrome around the grille. However, in this iteration it just looks out of place, especially since the "2 steps up" Cruze forgoes that look and has a horribly cheap looking, pieced together nose. Note to GM: On small cars, attention to detail is ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT to try and convey a sense of quality and engineering (since the typical american mindset is that small/funky looking = CHEAP) The Spark completely misses the mark. It looks too tall and slab sided (a.k.a. premanufactured) the roof is bad (which conveys bad engineering) and the wheels and grille contradict each other in DIRT CHEAP versus HAND CRAFTED) Get the drift?

Rumormill: Bob Lutz drops more Buick Regal GS, high performance wagon hints
Would be nice... But last I read, eventhough Zeta has fans inside GM, XTS is still SuperEps. Any surprise about that Cadillac concept at Detroit 2010 that you would like to share?

Restraint
Queue the classism.

Restraint
LMFAO!!!! Re: the topic... Definitely start gathering evidence. And eventhough I think this guy is all talk (Most people who issue threats are either 1) all talk or 2) extremely stupid -- why threaten someone and leave evidence of the crime youre going to commit?) it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to start watching you back a bit more and consider carrying something for protection. Be careful though, I really think any sort of violence should be a last resort and I know that in NC, there are VERY specific laws about shooting someone even if it's self defense.

Rumormill: Bob Lutz drops more Buick Regal GS, high performance wagon hints
GM better figure out a direction for Cadillac... Because, as of now, I can't really find any reason to buy a Cadillac over a Buick (unless for styling or the obvious V series) Not good.

GM to put electric Cadillac Converj into production
The fact that he said he's been expecting this makes him a whiner?! LMFAO.

New forum software. Shiny!
I agree! The site looks great!

Rage, hate, and so on
Bank of America. BAC being the stock symbol (Bank of America Corporation) when I worked in investments, the habit was to refer to companies by stock symbol. Old habits die hard. EDIT: oops, Z06 beat me to it. DF, how about a motion light or something like that? Mount it above the cars. It might stop some thieves and it's probably relatively cheap.
-
Rage, hate, and so on
True that. 20% here in Charlotte as well. And what's better is that BAC is pondering moving ALL of it's operations overseas.

Rage, hate, and so on
Oh, and it's probably NOT a good idea to go head hunting. That's what I was going to do as well when mine got taken. Then one of the members here brought up a good point, if the punk is underage he could actually charge and sue you for assault. Revenge is sweet, god knows I love it. But it's not worth effing up your record or life.

Rage, hate, and so on
+1 Not to mention the 17% on top of that who have given up or are only "partially employed" That equals roughly 1 in 6 Americans out of work. But BY GOD, the recession is over!!!!!! Damn DF, you're starting to sound like me (the tone of that post) all you need is a few capitalized letters and some random spaces. LOL. I know it sucks man, but don't dwell on it. There's really nothing you can do, unless you have the paperwork for it. Then you could hit up pawn shops. Look at it this way, at least it wasn't the Intrepid.

I Hate Dylan
Don't like his work at all. Eventhough I thought his contribution to Watchmen was excellent.

One mechanic for this and another for that...
Absolutely! I do much as I can myself. But when it comes to my camaros, I have neither the facilities nor knowledge to do EVERYTHING. Therefore, I have many shops and mechanics that I am on a first name basis with. Body man, mechanic, 'official' tire and wheel guy, exhaust guy, etc.

Bob Lutz to Oversee Opel
LMFAO... Ii just keeps getting better!

CPF leaves in "disgust" as GM keeps Opel
http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/091106/busi..._gm_opel_reilly HA HA HA HA!!!!!! Judging by Fritz comments, CPF would've been fired anyway. So I guess this is his middle finger to GMNA. Funny, I seem to remember him being 'cast' as the next leader of GM at one time. Hmmmm.....
