If you have to ask, then you'll never understand. It's something in your blood man. But, to think about it. A car based truck gives you utility with bit better gas mileage than a full size truck due to the weight advantage, and also the handling is better than a tradition pickup truck. Another good thing, most are two seat and you can take the wife (or husband, or partner) with NO KIDS. There's a pleasure in that. Also, if you want a Crew, you can get one and have a practical truck with room for the family and a bed for utility. Its the best of both worlds.

I really like the 5 spoke wheels on the midlevel LT model. I'm not a big fan of the color of the LTZ here. It appears to look like baby poo with too much iron in it. I have alot of hope for this car. I hope it holds up well against the Accord. Design wise, I think the Malibu is more interesting than the 08 Accord. I like the simplicity of the interior as well over the Accords. I hope that NAV becomes an option soon on the Epsilon cars. Seems that cars of all sizes have that as an option. More importantly, I hope the quality is there. The huge advertising campaign may get the word out, but the car has to deliver in every way right out of the factory.

So, instead of saying they screwed up and mismatched the trucks, they make excuses. I've never trusted CR, and I've done my share of telling others about their biases and have even gotten a few to cancel their subscriptions to the magazine because of it. I hope that this public screw up will cause much of the public to lose trust in them. My favorite story about them is when my former in laws bought a Toyota because CR said that it was the most reliable. Twelve trips to the dealer for unscheduled maintenance and powertrain failures they became more skeptical. They bought another Toyota because they CR said it was the most reliable. Well, Eight more vehicle failures in the first year and they now no longer trust CR.
