Review: 2015 Chrysler 200C
A likeable but still flawed entry in the mid size class. The model I like most is stuck with 4 cylinder only power and that dreadful 9 speed too many gears transaxle. The V6 models are far better but still suffer the occasional stutter or jolt shift, cost a lot more than the Limited, have over sized 19" wheels that ride harsher or in the case of the C, are priced far more than I think this car is worth. Also not a fan of the rotary shifter and interior room is a little snug in the back. My pick would be a Limited with option package and a 3.2 V6 from the Cherokee for the mid 25-26k range but alas Chrysler refuses to offer this.

Chicago Auto Show: 2016 Chevrolet Equinox: Comments
What a shame. I don't want to wait for the all new smaller one for several more years. I want one now. But GM's idiotic move on keeping the noisy underpowered 2.4 that doesn't get it's rated MPG is keeping me from buying one. And I have heard many folks with timing chain issues, oil consumption and spark knock problems with this motor. Making the 200 HP 2.5 from the Colorado/Canyon would have solved most of those issues and even improved mileage some which is what GM should be doing to help get closer to that 35.5 figure as there average.

Cadillac News: 'Too Many Dealers' Claims Cadillac's President, Has Idea To Possibly Fix It
Cutting some dealerships might be a good idea. But his re-naming convention is plain silly and not needed. You don't see Lexus or BMW re-naming there entire lineup. Imagine what would happen if an Accord turned into a H-SLA or a Camry was called an Avensis here in the States. I bet customers would become confused and sales would drop off. This is the last thing Cadillac needs- less sales! And I fully believe that further price adjustments are in order for the rest of the Cadillac lineup starting with the radically overpriced Escalade. I also agree that Cadillac needs to further distance itself from GM with there stupid bean counter mentality and be given more free rein in designing there own engines/transmissions and chassis without interference. There quality control could use improvement too!

Hyundai News:Hyundai To Redesign Current Sonata Due To Poor Sales Start
Even though this car is better in most ways to the previous car, especially in NVH, interior looks and materials, ride and handling and mileage on certain models, customers are perceiving this car as a step back with blander styling, less power on it's base 2.4 and 2 liter turbo and a more traditional and more comfortable interior. The sad part is that this car is better than the new Camry in most every way but Toyota can get away with making bland subpar sedans because that percieved reliability is still there and the media loves them.

Detroit Auto Show Preview: 2016 Toyota Tacoma: Comments
ponchoman49 replied to Drew Dowdell's post in a topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)It looks like they took the previous Taco and added a Taurus grille and longer bed. More of an MCE but I'm sure Toyota will call this thing all new. I wouldn't even be surprised if the drivetrains were mostly carryover with maybe a switch to 6 speed automatics across the board.

Comparison: 2014 Honda Civic EX-L vs. 2014 Toyota Corolla S
I'm still trying to figure out how the geniuses at Toyota equip the sportier S model with less power than the base and LE/Eco versions of this car. 132 HP vs 140. You used to be able to get the larger Camry 2.4 in the Corolla but now it's stuck with the none to quick 1.8. So don't pick the S version with quicker performance in mind. Only there handling is better. For 2015 the 140 HP version of the 1.8 is now only for the Eco model and all other versions of the Corolla are downgraded to the 132 HP 1.8 meaning this car is one of the lowest in it's segment for power.

I'm sure this trucks half baked lackluster refresh will keep it near the bottom of the full size truck sales chart.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Heads To The Drawing Board To Solve CTS Sales
I think many folks are getting tired of the current trends of rubber band tires, undersized hard to see out of windows, plain look alike side styling, LED lights sprinkled about, cramped interiors with reduced legroom, hard harsh rides over bumpy streets, uncomfortable seats, hard to get in and out of interiors, gimmicky dashes and worse hard to use touch screens and last but not not least higher and higher prices with resulting higher insurance costs. Where does it end? When a mid size car is being priced into the 70 grand territory you have for sure lost many an average consumer. The higher end snobs are all buying Bimmers and Mercedes and Lexus because in there minds those are more prestigious brands. The former sedans buyers that used to buy Cadillacs and Lincolns are now buying larger and more comfortable SUV/CUV's.

First Drive: 2015 Hyundai Sonata
Blander styling aside this is one very nice driving car that is improved in most ways. My close friend just purchased a new 2015 red Limited with tan leather and the 185 Hp 2.4. It is a solid improvement in most ways to the previous model starting with NVH which are all improved noticeably. The 2.4 is more polished and the reduction of 5 Hp is not at all noticed in the 0-60 dash which takes 7.8 seconds and if anything this improved engine feels a touch more responsive than before. Real world mileage is also better. Rated for 24/35 this car actually easily achieves it's 35 highway rating and we have seen 36-36.5 many times on the open road going 75 MPH! The interior see's more rear seat legroom and interior ambiance and quality are much better than the dull monotone look of the 2011-2014 models. The dash and layout are also much improved. You also get a ton of equipment for the coin unlike in a Camry LE or SE and the radio, touch screen and bluetooth paring are far superior compared to the rental Camry SE 2014.5 we had several months back. We just wish they didn't tone down the exterior as much but if the 2015 mediocre Camry is anything to go by this car should win against it in most ways.

Review: 2014 Dodge Dart SXT 2.4
Good write up but I definitely do not find the exterior even remotely exciting. Curb weight 3348! Holy cow this thing weights as much as several mid size sedans!

88 Monte Carlo SS Masterpiece
Sweet ride. We recently completed an upgrade of a mint 1988 Monte SS with maroon bucket seat interior. It was a higher 120k example and with a rust free well cared for body this car was ripe for a power transplant. The 305 and 200R-4 came out and in went a Vortec head 350 horse 5.7 350 V8 and a rebuilt 200 R-4 with upgrades and additional cooling. While the 305 still ran reasonably well it's 8 second 0-60 times were often embarrassed by many current 4 cylinders including a crazy old man in a 2013 Sonata with a 2.4 198 HP 4 banger that managed to out pull us by a full car length in a drag race! With the new 350 this is a high 12's quarter mile car and way more fun to drive. Now we just need to do something about the half worn rubber! LOL

2013 Ford Fusion 2.5 SE 1.6 Ecoboost 6MT
Ford has gone a bit over board with the upcoming Cafe, which isn't here yet in the 2013-2015 Fusion IMO. Why there can't be a V6 option or at the least a 2.3 turbo is ridiculous. Having an engine that get's one to two less overall MPG is hardly going to affect there numbers.

Review: 2014 Buick LaCrosse Premium FWD
Still not my cup of tea but somewhat improved nonetheless. The worst issues I have with this design are the tiny squinty side windows and rear visibility, the bloated Lexus whale like styling and the front seat area where my legs feel smashed up against both the wide center console and the door panel. Worse the new models front seats are too short and lack upper support for the legs, something that the Impala and XTS do not share! Here's hoping for a lighter more efficient Lacrosse with better visibility and more unique styling the next time around.
