Your morning drink
If you saw my beltline, compared to 8 years ago you would understand. I did stop drinking milk for a few years because of the fat. The taste of 2% makes me ill. Honest truth was that my finger nails became thin and weak, made me wonder what was going on with my bones. So I started drinking milk again, sure enough good hard normal fingernails again. But Ive hammered on 10-15 lbs. Paulie has the right idea with water, I can only do ice water in the summer though.

You also misunderstand, I went full spectrum on it (as usual) but not at you. However, you spoke that we dont know whats best for us because we hate change. We have good reason. We dont really hate change, but we def. dont want this rapid growth we've seen in the past two decades "coming to our town" but it does, and like I said thats because it serves the purposes of the bureaucracy. This is always the purpose of planning boards, "community growth". Besides interstates mean exactly that.........accesss = developement = suburbs. Interstate means you are closer to the city, this means "they are comming". No insult meant to suburbanites, we would also understand that if we came to your town bought up a bunch of your homes and land and demolished them and planted Norway Spruce trees, we would not be surprises if there was an uproar............ In other words we dont impose our preferences on suburbanites but when they move to the country, next thing you know their trying to turn the country into the suburbs. Never makes much sense but happens everytime. "Lets move to the county and complain about everything that makes the country the country."

This is true Blu, but parents will control the girls decision. Maybe make her carry it and then give it up.........sometimes this is the hardest thing. Maybe they will make her abort when she would back out at last minute......not sure what to think of that one. Maybe they will do a shotgun wedding............. Im no longer ashamed to say it but most young girls have it together far more than we three leggers at that age. They can survive, but if made to carry, it could control the rest of their lives. If made to go full term and then separate it could do long term harm to their spirit. Remember I am a father of a 17 year old girl............who has been told..... "I'll kick her ass............with one of these ( ) of course "

Lucerne CXL V6 vs. AURA XR
and you say that because...........it has that "other" name on it ? Its the same chassis no matter how you paint it. I bet you could send that and a G6 GTP sedan to the mags and they would act like theres a difference and one would get raves and the other dis. But the pieces are the same. To me G6 looks better, G6C many times better. The only remaining differences would be interior design. We honestly were not impressed two weeks ago when we looked at them. I even had to drag my wife over and she just shrugged her shoulders and said "so?". She did like the sky better than Solstice however and I determined that in my eyes the Solstice has no competition from the sky with people that have any taste. One looks better in person and the other looks worse. Whats an LX ? The new Chryslers or the old Chryslers ?

Your morning drink
Shortly after I quit smoking, 6 years ago, little by little coffee started tasting like something I have never tasted but can only imagine. Shortly thereafter this Mr. Toughguy started drinking................gasp....................Hot Chocolate, yep I drink box after box of Swiss Miss, year round. Big opportunity here fellas.................... I also drink lots of milk, always have. Over half a gallon a day, back when I was really working nearly a gallon.

Lucerne CXL V6 vs. AURA XR
No I mean Civic/Corolla competitor, the it was streached to "reach" a bit further which may or may not be Accord/Camry, thats open to opinion which I dont have. Then by that means, the Lucerne is the Lexus/Acura competitior, just not the same league, sorry. Its not all bad, the Epilson, but it is a step or two down from C/H body and thats a '85/86 platform, improved in '91/92, discontinued at 00. G has got to be even better.
-
Lucerne CXL V6 vs. AURA XR
Anyone that thinks that way had better put some windshield time in on both cars and then explain to me what value per dollar means. I just sort of went from a H body to an Epilson and all I can say is Im glad I still have my collection of H/C bodies. Then G was an improvement over H/C and eventually replaced it. The "aura" will not outperform my LSS in any department except possibly 0-60 and if thats all the driving experience is about.........I need to turn my licence in..............
-
Lucerne CXL V6 vs. AURA XR
Thats because your wife has good taste !............... :AH-HA_wink: But aside from that I have this reaction - G body or Epilson ? "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME ? " Ill take a peach over an apple any day. Think of one as a quality car and the other as a lame attempt to be a Japaneser. The difference between these two chassis's is day and night. One was designed to continue GM's upperend quality luxury cars. The other was designed to give GM an inexpensive Civic/Corolla competitor and improve on the N body. They can dress it up in any cloths they want its still what it is, the chassis designed for Malibu. So by that standard of quality you are basically asking this question Park Avenue or Malibu Get the Lucerne and sit back, relax and enjoy life.

We pay school taxes here in NY to the tune of $26 per $1000 real assessment(our area is cheap). We can vote against the raised budget every year but its a joke. If they dont get the money, they make parents drive their kids to the end of the roads for school. Its technically called a "contingency budget", but in reality its the "we gotcha clause" Teenage pregancy - I would want to know but I also know kids dont want their parents involved. I cant blame them. I also strongly feel that babies should not be having babies, like they tell us when they ship our jobs overseas........things have changed! Starting familys at 14,15,16,17-18 or even 20-24 does not fit in with todays "advanced" (hardy har har) culture. Alternative energy _ well.......yea........but .....no. Many studies have already been done that prove we can not even begin to produce enough corn in this country to power our automobiles. Let alone address what corn farming does to the soil in both nutrition and erosion. Solar energy is still far too ineffiecient. Windmills cant put a dent in our usuage. Leaves one wondering if we shouldnt put our resources into figureing out a different way to live. croc is wrong in his assessment of simple country folk. We know whats best and that is not turning into the suburbs. Which means little and slowest change possible. These mass population/developement changes pined as economic/community growth only suit those that gain by more numbers which is the bureaucracy. In our eyes this is always a negitive result, flooding an area with city ideas and city ideals, next thing you know money talks and the natives are walking because they can no longer afford to live in the communities they staked their claim on. Ive been to many boad meeting and these people are so self serving and logically lame its sickening. Big difference between the desires of already flooded and suburbanized California and other typical suburbanized areas than those of rural Americans........it dont make us ignorant. Our ideas of getting things done and those of suburbanites are in two different planes. I feel every single bill that ever comes up should be publically voted on. NY and local gov. pass stuff every day that leaves most of us with our jaws hanging..........yet nothing gets done about it.

NA 3.8 Series II vs. SC 3.8 Series II
The supercharged engine is nearly bullit proof. the NA series II engine is plagued with the intake and intake manifold gasket failures. If not for that it too would be nearly bullit proof. I say nearly because nothing made by man can be a-hole proof. Our mileage on LSS is 20 -26. We do little real city driving, with lots of slow, stop and go traffic. We live in the country and our citys are small & rarely congested when we visit. We get low 20's with our around the hills country driving and the best we ever achieved on interstates was 26. That was at 72-low 80's mph. I rarely drive 55 on straight roads or 65 on interstates. I try but always look down and find Im speeding. Im sure at 65 the estimates some people give of 28 or even higher are possible, but I put more value on my time and keeping involved with my driving than being bored to death for an extra few miles on the gallon. Drivetrain shifts out of first around 50 mph, while its not a neck snapper it has this constant growing power, the higher the revs the harder it pulls, it just keeps giving and giving. Shifts are slow and sloppy, there is a "torque management" program in the ECM that backs off fuel delievery and retards timing during shifts. This is a bit lame but its how they got the 4T65E HD FWD transaxle to survive 280 lb ft of torque. However ! The most beautiful thing about this drivetrain is, its there for the real driving needs. Lets face it, big burnouts and awsome 0-60 is not how we drive everyday. What we may need everyday is the ability to get past these drivers that seem to think their car is about to careen off the road at any second and slow down for the slightest curve in the road or oncoming traffic, but when we get to the straights........they speed up ..........well it takes about 4 seconds to eliminate these obstructions. There is no time wasted or sloppy shift when this drivetrain shifts down to second and takes it up to 70-80-90 in very little time. Typically not enough time to take eyes off the road. I have always found I was approaching 90 by the time I took my lane back, backed off and looked around. The first time I went to pass a car I nearly ran into the back of it because the power and speed came so much faster than what I was used to. This is the work of the supercharger and the 280 lb ft. Feeling is believeing. It will smoke em a bit off the line, Id guess 0-30 isnt bad but from there on is what makes this drivetrain impressive. GP's are faster but the spec on engine and final drive ratio are the same. I guess the GP is slightly lighter and has less frontal area. They may also shift somewhat firmer but I really dont know. I could believe that the luxury cars were valved to have nearly unoticeable shift, which is the case under typical easy driving. Our 3900 G6 GTP is a bear 0-60, most likely due to the 6sp and much lower finals but Ill tell you right now, its got nothing on the SC 3800 for 50-100 pull. Its also not getting any better mileage but will run cheaper gas. Its not a good idea to run the SC with 87 or 89 octane, definantly not if you have big hills or put your foot in it from time to time. So that extra 20 cents a gallon is a consideration.

NA 3.8 Series II vs. SC 3.8 Series II
$500 < $4000 fix it and use it up, get another year out of it, then move on. Drive a GP all winter, parking around college and what not and you be thinking about a paint job on that come spring. I know you have the "new" car bug, I get it too often myself but its not all its cracked up to be when you put it on paper.

My wasted time researching has revealed – for one... that the dimensions on the Cadillac site for WB and Track are very hard to decipher but I believe I have them correct, questionable ones will have * which was primarily the front track I had the most problems with The 3 series grows from a 108.7 WB, 5” to the 5 series 113.7 WB, which is at about the CTS’s WB of 113 but the STS grows another 3 “ to a 116 WB The 3 series front track(FT) 59.1 grows 2.2 “ to the 5 series of 61.3 FT CTS FT 60.8 grows 4.2” * to STS FT 64.5 * The 3 series grows from a 59.5 RT, 2.8” to the 5 series 62.3 RT The CTS grows from a 60” RT, 2.3 “to the STS 62.3 RT As has already been brought, the 5 series drops in power while the STS increases, the base 2.8 in the CTS is humbling and we so easy forget this is the standard engine. At first I was thinking they were the same with the 3.6 as base on both. Our local Cad dealer never has base models so I forget things. STS price jump is larger than the 5 series So, while the obvious has been stated, I don’t see Cadillac being so far off the mark in these dimensional increases as some would have us think, and overall the Cadillacs are a larger car…..for those that think a few inches or less means everything.

I dont care about the Beemers ! Sales conclusions and BMW aspirations in the same paragraph indicate little more than the higher number makes me more important thingy. I dont care about the STS arguement, I already stated over and over my feelings regarding the STS/CTS debacle. My point for adding to the latest direction of this thread was to get after evok with his usual and unecessary fat attitude he interjects into topics here and there with cute little one liners. I had no problems interpreting Balths post and simply could not see any value or purpose to evoks tiny remarks that said nor offered anything.

If your not that attached to the Camaro, my advise would be to just keep driving it and save your money. At this point in your life. I did realize after my post by rereading yours that you were talking about GP.

It's Official: Commodore coming to US as a Pontiac
Yea ! We could call it Commodore and have a special Lionel Ritchie Edition Then we could have a larger Admirable We could call it the Conquistador and our booming hispanic population would flock in groves We could call it Ol' Salty Chief OR we could come up with a new inspireing, appropriate great name but at the least use a traditional recognizable Pontiac name such as Bonneville anything but a literally rebadged Holden

Well, regardless of the BMW/Cadillac debate we have going now, this little provocation began because of this little statement Now Im not too bright.......but my guess would be that Balthazar, myself and possibly one or two other people worldwide........would also feel that the upward move between the 3 & 5 series may also be "subjective" and may also be a less or no more inspiring a design to many people, thereby finding them keep the extra $10,000 and drive the 3 series. There both small cars. Is their a problem with that ? I mean I get really inspired by the loss of ponies in the 5 which were not very impressive in the first place, for a 3 litre, yes, but compared my "antiquated 3800" I was shocked and truely uninspired. Once again let me state my very close friend was very mixed on his feelings about the 535 compared to their older A6 which it replaced. From what I gather it being newer with a few more toys was about the extent of the inspiration. The STS is a nice car thats overpriced and built on the same Sigma chassis as the CTS..........it was a mistake.......everybody just say it.........DUMB ! Im one that prefers it to the CTS but the price forbids the preference.

NA 3.8 Series II vs. SC 3.8 Series II
L67 first appeared in H/C bodies, LETS GET THIS STRAIGHT!....... Bonneville and Olds Touring Sedan, then LSS, followed by the Riviera(G) .............. OK.........? GP was still fooling around with the "Twin Cam" engine from the Chebby family Seriously however - The differences are tremendous. Different heads, pistons, rods, ? crank ? I forget . No, you can not put the L67 stuff on the L36. The L67 was a serious engineering effort, so was its non identical twin the L36 for that matter. Injectors were placed in the head on the L67, in the manifold in the L36 for an obvious difference but the internal ones are important too, one of which is the lower compression pistons needed for the forced engine. Then you have the HD tranny as Fly mentioned The PCMs are different and thusly so is the engine harness and who knows what else. Is this Camaro involved ? Im sure you know ZZ performance offers a - Centrifugal Supercharger kit, but its for W bodies, not sure about the Camaro engine set up/interchangability. Sounds like alot of money but its done in a day or weekend, without all the BS involved with the engine swap and interfaceing http://zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=244 http://zzperformance.com/

New Jersey court recognizes
First part, I just disagree, I dont feel these options should exist. I wont argue it, it would be ugly of me. Im pretty radical I wouldnt say they can not have these emotions, Im alot of things but stupid doesnt apply. Im saying they made a choice either willfully of because of things they have no control over. This end result brings a couple that can not naturally reproduce, there has got to be some kind of indication here, an indication that clearly implies sacrafice. Ill have to ask my mate if she would mind me impregnating and having a child with another woman, and then if she will help me raise it.......see its not natural. "white babies are in the highest demand" This is part of the questionable circumstances I was refering to. As well as foreign adaptions. As well as anti abortion issues. As well as crack babies. Yea, thats a deep mudpuddle for sure, one that gets real messy when someone like myself drops a stick of dynamite in it. That is why babies should NOT be in demand, remove the issue and loose the issue. Ignore it and you have people whoreing for babies, the most vile perversion human kind can stoop to. Ever wonder how many of these drug/prostitute/teen births are reoccuring ? Scarry, and to think we have anti abortion fruitcakes running loose. Wonder how many of them have a housefull of adopted or fostered crack babies ? My real close friends family adopted another son, when we were young. There was lots of issues, the first and most obvious were genetic when he hit his growth spurt. Then he had questionable interpretations of right and wrong, then he ended up being an amature thief. His upbringing showed a very respectful, decent kid to talk to, though some statements would raise a brow, but behind the scenes was quite opposite. Last I knew he still didnt have it together. This is a huge issue indeed and last thing we need is a demand for children.
