Neither Mozilla nor Firefox browsers like your redirect. I only found my way here a couple of minutes ago after deciding to try to open the old site in Internet Explorer. My guess is that the web server hosting the redirect doesn't serve .php files properly. The symptoms of IE working fine and Mozilla and Firefox trying to download the index.php file as an "application/octet-stream" are the usual results of a web server running IIS without a 3rd party package to provide correct ,php functionality. I'd recommend that you duplicate the index.php redirector file that you are using as index.html or index.htm (or replace it entirely).
