Luxury cars
The rub is, if you want something to be unique or uncommon, that means it has to be bought by fewer people. And if you want it to be inexpensive, that means the company is selling not many of a car that isn't making them as much money.

Buick's future
Ideally, Buick and Pontiac would be perfect complements to each other, representing separate halfs of, if you will, the "budget BMW": Pontiac would be the no-nonsense, RWD performance half, while Buick would be FWD, more elegant with refined comfort and luxury features. Cadillac then would be the merger of these two sides, being of both RWD high-performance and uncompromised luxury. This way no brand would intrude on another's territory. Without a strong (or any) Pontiac, Buick can still be like I described above, but it will need to add more sporty options to maintain a presence in the entry/mid-range sport-lux segment.

Subaru Unveils Refreshed 2010 Legacy
I see Subaru's finally come to their senses. The previous generation, however easy on the eyes it was, was the biggest mistake. It raised people's expectations for them. I'm sure its designers were severely chastized (possibly even fired) for penning such a comely design. This just brings the Legacy back to where it should be. I really don't like it either, but it was not made for people like us. And for the record, I thought Subaru's Edsel-grille was brilliant, and I was deeply disappointed when they gave into the backlash and scrapped it. It could've brought some nice family identity to their line.

New York: Acura ZDX aimed squarely at BMW X6
Now this I really like. I think the styling is just fantastic- there's nothing I don't like in that area. In fact I find it much better looking than the X6; the shapes are sharper and better defined, the lines are more taut and it looks far more lean and athletic than the bloated X6. In fact it's really just barely a crossover. Lower it a few inches and it's a fastback sedan. I think it's great.

New York: Mitsubishi Outlander GT Prototype gets a EVOplasty snarl
The Lancer snout works great for a car, but not for an SUV. It's just too big.

GM and Segway Join Forces to Reinvent Urban Transportation
Anything this size should be powered by the driver. Human-powered transportation is infinitely more green than any electric vehicle. This is the kind of vehicle America doesn't need. It is just taking for granted, taking advantage of and further promoting the tendency for Americans to be lazy and fat.

Iowa gay marriage ban ruled unconstitutional
I should post an anit-gay marriage pamphlet I saw at my church once. Basically it boils down to, the only real argument against gay marriage is based on what's in the Bible, assuming that everything in the Bible is 100% true. As for why not just live and let live, that's a whole different topic dealing with the history of the Constitution and the founding fathers and all sorts o' mean and nasty things.

Given the two options what will you buy?
Cobalt. I don't find the BMW very inspiring. It just looks old and bland. Drive wheels mean nothing to me.

Gray Infiniti EX. Cool little wagon.

I think it's time...
Funny, my dad recently got an external that was 1/8 the physical size of mine, 4/5 the capacity an 1/3 the price, and it was formatted to HFS+ by default. GRRR.
-
I think it's time...
I want to format my external drive to HFS+ so I can back up all the stuff on my internal with custom folder icons and special filenames. But I already have 130 gigs of other stuff on my external which I have nowhere else to put while I format it.

Iowa gay marriage ban ruled unconstitutional
I was just thinking about this while browsing the gun show the other day and reading all the obnoxious bumper stickers for sale. I imagine the counter-argument would be something like "Gun ownership is a constitutional right, gay marriage isn't".

Cobalt Cometh to Cory
Nice Cobalt BV. I hope you can learn to love it.

Now I have one more reason...
That's so cool DF. All that leather looks great and comfy. The whole car has such a cool look that I love.

If I only ever own one classic car, it's going to be an Eagle. One thing every AMC has going for it is exculsivity.

HARDTOPS you might not remember
Speaking of Corvairs, I think the 2nd generation are my favorite hardtops. In fact, I think they share a bit of resemblance with the BMW 2000cs sixty8 posted at first, but shapelier and with better proportions.

Which small car Pontiac would you choose?
G3 EXCITEMENT!!! The Cobalt SS is what the base model G5 should be. So it would either be a Cobalt SS or, if I wanted to spend more up front, a 1-series 5-door.

Cyclone, Breeze, Scirocco?
Another new Challenger at school, this one an orange R/T. And a normal silver one. Are they getting to the point where they aren't of note anymore?

HARDTOPS you might not remember
It would seem to me that any car roof that isn't a soft top would be a hard top. But anyway. I don't have any special fondness for hardtops. I don't like driving with the windows down (unless the A/C doesn't work). On a lot of older cars the hardtops look better than the sedans, but on most modern cars I don't think the absence of a pillar would make a much of a difference in the design.
