Hey New England!
Well, considering New England is under a foot of snow 8 months a year, they take their driving tests in a plow truck. So, yeah, they got a lot of 'em. JK.

Chevy Spark EU Test Drive
Interesting the custom plates on the car... CH 333 VY and SP 888 RK. I wonder if they shopped that or if GM really has those plates and is willing to break the law having two different plates on the front and back of the car.

unimpressed
The Syclone and Typhoon has rediculously low cargo ratings... something like 400-500 pounds. So two of your larger friends in the back may help you break a driveshaft.

Cash is king
Yeah, get out of Wells Fargo. They will make Wachovia look like heaven. Without going into details, WF helped drive my father into the grave. They ignored bankruptcy proceeding, lost payments, documentation and nearly foreclosed on his house. They mucked up his bankruptcy to the point where the discharge was delayed nearly a year... he got it three days after passing away. Then when we tried to sort out the problem, they put us at square one and screwed us over for a lot of money. This was before Wells Fargo Wells Fargo, not Wachovia Wells Fargo. Merging WF and Wachovia is only pure evil, and you want out. Trust me.

T/A
I figured the interior was gone for that price... but most parts are available. If it is a TA, it should have a VIN that starts 2FW87. I could see the state mislabelling it a Firebird, as they officially are "Firebird Trans Am"s. A 'K' would denote the 403. I didn't see anyhing in the Standard Catalog that power windows were standard on the TA. Of course, in this case, I would say this car might have had a door swap, rather than being converted to manual windows. Shame. Probably still a deal, but a lot of work.

If I were to build a Computer
RAID isn't too bad, just get a good controller. I've been real happy with the Dell server level stuff. If your going for pure speed with a RAID 0, you are always running the risk of data loss, as drives fail too often. I usually will do a RAID 10 (1+0) or 50 (5+0), but then you are adding a lot of drives.

Cash is king
Not only that, but it seems to me that PA has lots of credit unions. We don't have many in South Jersey, yet its where I got my last auto loan (The CU was actually up north, but still good to deal with).

At $1800, I think it needs interior everything. Still, it looks like a great deal... take a magnet with you.

What Are You Listening To?
Been humming "And I'm Evil" by Beatallica all day. The backing singer sounds like Glen Danzig, but there is nothing in the liner notes.

A list of top candidates for GM's next CEO
Jim Wangers is still around. ;-)

Viridian Joule
I'm pretty sure, as well. Lead was used as a pigment, due to its whiteness and opaqueness. Its not really the 'base' of the paint, as in 'water-based', as I understand it.

Viridian Joule
Lead paint is banned for toys and house paint. I'm not so sure about industrial uses or automotive paint use. Its not that lead is so bad, its that it has a sweet taste and children like to eat it. We used to make 'lead sugar' and eat it. We just don't want it in massive quantities in the body and environment. Leaded gas and latex paint chips tend to put lead in harm's way. I don't think automotive paint would be a huge source of contamination in the environment. Of course, I don't think there is reason to put lead in auto paint... and GM's PR people would not want it anymore than asbestos seat covers. Its simply that its the other definition of the word 'lead'... as in 'to lead somewhere'. A better phrase would been: the Volt's featured paint color.

Well, I'm screwed
Making me glad that all the cars are paid off. Oh, and that I never sell anything. ;-)

Yet another C and G nudity thread!
IIRC, for a while she was spotted around my work neighborhood in Manhattan on a nearly daily basis... but she would not be my first choice. Used to see Kelly Ripa in the neighborhood, as well... she did Commerce Bank (now TD Bank) commercials with Regis in the bank at the bottom of our building. Also, not my first choice. My first choice would be one of my ex-coworkers was tall and one of those perky gals who make sweaters look good.

Gm Reports 151,427 Total Sales In November
I'm not convinced this is whats going on. I feel there is a pent up demand for cars and the slowly returning economy is unleashing those sales. IMHO, GM would be doing much better if they still had their 3rd best selling division. Not only that, but there are several cars (Malibu, Equinox, Camaro, LaCrosse, CTS Wagon) that suddenly are desirable. GM should be doing MUCH better, IMHO.

Viridian Joule
I thought the same thing. I was looking forward to finding out the name of the color as I was opening the thread... whoops. Viridian... wow, thats obscure.

Michael Richards Named Buick/Gmc General Manager
This should be interesting. Well, Elaine is working with Healthy Choice. Yeah, yeah, I know, not the same Michael Richards.

Holden Statesman Review & Road Test
Compared to the old fullsizers, yeah. Compared to the current "fullsizers", The OZ cars are generally wider than our cars. G8/Statesman is 74.8 inches. Impala is 72.9, Lucerne is 73.8. Wider is better. ;-)

New Phone
Just go on marketplace and download one of the volume widgets, then there will be a volume right on your desktop. My sister has the Droid... I'm slightly jealous. Its really nice. But I'll stick with my G1 (Now on 1.6 Donut ) and Storm (on 5.0). I'd recommend marketplace software to download, but I don't know where to start.

My Head Is Exploding
Well, Jersey does have temp tags, just not ones a non-dealer can get, IIRC. Recently, my car has been targeted by the NYPD due to the old school blue NJ tags. In NY, (as noted in other threads), everyone must have the same plate base... and cops are tuned to that, so my old school NJ tags look like a violation until they realize my paperwork is in order. While talking to the last few cops, they revealed that they can't validate my plate due to it being out of state. So, I would think that the same goes between NJ and PA. A PA plate is not likely to be validatable from a NJ cop... unless you do something spectacular enough to get pulled over.

No Matter What...Don'T Ever Forget Gm Filed For Bankruptcy
Only after the auto market crash. Before that they had a pretty large waiting list. There was demand, low sales only would be because of production or importation issues. Once the economy tanked, the people on the waiting list suddenly didn't feel the need to buy a new car. There is still interest, and IMHO, a market for a better quality Smart.
