December 2014 Car Spotters Thread!
Saw this Ram pickup with a Sterling grille. Sterling rebadged Ram HD & chassis cabs as a light duty offering about a decade ago; first time I've seen a Ram pickup with the Sterling grille swap. I like it!!

Making Trax to the Dealerships!
I feel ya, Bill. I could easily let the wife get a Buick Encore and skip on the Canyon, but I'd ultimately miss having a pickup. Right now we're trying to keep it to one car payment (G6 was paid off last July), so we're not looking at two new vehicles at this time. She's doing her best to convince me the Encore would be the better buy over a pickup, but I told her it's an emotional purchase for me with the truck so practicality is out the window

Making Trax to the Dealerships!
I saw one last weekend while stalking what I consider to be the perfect '15 Impala for me it was a white LS that the carrier dropped earlier that day (still fresh in its car carrier wrap). Interesting cars but the wife and I prefer the Encore to the Trax still.

One Year Review of my 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ 3.6L
A Chevy dealer near my work has received into inventory the perfect 2015 Impala 2LTZ for me - Blue Velvet Metallic exterior, Black/Gray Leather Interior, standard 19" rims, no sunroof but all the other options I want. I'm still split 50/50 between leasing an Impala and leasing a Canyon. I know if I were to go with the Impala I will miss having a GMC in my driveway. Though if I go with the Canyon I will miss many of the upscale features/options of the Impala LTZ. So torn!!

did it again
I don't know!! Maybe something new from Chevy? Caddy's are out of my price range!! I figured GMC would use Chicago in February for any reveals/concepts, though Chevy just had a good showing in LA. Do you know anything you can share about Detroit''s reveals???

did it again
Getting closer, Bill! Hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer into the new year for your new truck to arrive. The wife gave her blessing for the Canyon last night. We were in the area of FC Kerkeck Buick-GMC and I wanted to see how many Canyons he had on the lot. There were 2 SLE Crew Cab, Lond Bed, 4WD models on the lot. She said the truck looked nice and she asked if that's what I wanted. I told her yes, but in dark green and the SLT model. I think either she's being nice because it's Christmas (and close enough to my birthday) or she's placating me because I'm always telling her she doesn't support my automotive side I'm tempted to go and place an order, but really want to see what GM has in store at the NAIAS in Detroit next month. Maybe something else shown there will catch my eye?

Congrats, Bill!! I know you're excited! The gray is turning out to be a popular color on the Twins. I'm waiting to order my Canyon, hoping that some good news comes out of the upcoming Detroit show? If not I'll head over to my GMC dealer and put in my order

22" LPO rims & tires - 2014 GMC Sierra SLT
Thanks, all, for your insight. I was in NYC Thursday-Saturday nights this past week for work and an abundance of GMC Yukon Denali's and Cadillac Escalade's were roaming the streets of Manhattan. Many were running the 22" factory rim & tire combo, which made me think that for my driving needs this size tire would be fine. My main issue now is with the added cost of this option. I could think of many other items I'd rather have for $3k than these tires & rims (the chrome running boards, factory tri-fold hard tonneau cover, rubber bed mat). Of course the Black Friday 20% off sale would have been the time for me to really consider this truck - I could have gotten it for $42,192 - much easier to swallow! I think at this point I will wait for calendar year 2015 to show up, attend some new car shows, and decide whether I need a Sierra (I know I WANT one ) or if the Canyon will suite my needs just fine. I'm hoping a special edition model, a'la the Colorado's ZR2, makes an appearance at the Detroit show.

22" LPO rims & tires - 2014 GMC Sierra SLT
Thanks for the reply, Bill. Those are my concerns too. Anyone ever drive a FS with these 22" tires that can comment on the ride & handling? The sad thing is this dealer (Star GMC) has this option on all of their leftover 2014 Sierra DC/CC SLE & SLT models. And their one of the only dealers around me with Sierra SLTs equipped how I want one [sMH].

22" LPO rims & tires - 2014 GMC Sierra SLT
I'm sorry I didn't find this truck last weekend during the 20% off Black Friday Sale. One option I wasn't considering is the 22" tires & rims ($3k option!! :-O ). Looking for input on this option (22" tires) - other than being an expensive-to-replace tire, anyone have any knowledge about the ride quality and handling characteristics of this size tire? I like everything else about this truck.

One Year Review of my 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ 3.6L
I did some dealer lot shopping the other night, looked at a '15 Red Rock Metallic Impala LTZ and two '15 Canyon SLT long bed 4wd (Cyber Gray & Summit White). I was diggin' those two Canyons!! Seeing a ton of GMC Terrains everywhere and while I like them is feel they're a consolation prize to the Canyon. Though a 2 year lease might entice me that way I could wait to see what happens with the Canyon during that time. At this point not sure what I'm doing. New Car show season starts in January (Baltimore I think has an early January show) so maybe I'll wait until I can sit in and check over a bunch of vehicles at one time. Wife is favoring the Encore option - that's what she wants! :-P But there's no garuntee that we'd be able to swing two payments with an Encore and Terrain/Canyon/Impala.

One Year Review of my 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ 3.6L
We'll the Impala 2LTZ is still in the mix of vehicles I'm considering. The good thing is I want to lease my next vehicle so that is helping me deal with not getting a new GMC if I were to go with a car. I really 'want' a Chevrolet SS Sedan, but even with the Thanksgiving holiday promotions (which the SS doesn't qualify for anyway) I'm about $6k over what I want to spend. I'm still head over heels for a new Canyon, but there are some things I'm not thrilled about that may change in the near future (i.e. Rims, tires, lack of some options [Homelink, heated steering wheel], etc.). Vehicles in contention: 1. 2015 GMC Canyon SLT Crew Cab Long Bed 4WD 2. 2015 Chevrolet Impala (2)LTZ 3. 2015 GMC Terrain SLT-2 AWD 4. 2015 Buick Encore Leather Package AWD (for the wife, if I forgo getting a new vehicle for myself this round) Out-of-Price Range Vehicles: 5. 2014 Chevrolet SS Sedan 6. 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Crew Cab Standard Bed Z71 4WD 7. 2015 GMC Acadia SLT-2 AWD

She Has Arrived
I want to buy one, but these are pricey sport sedans! A south Jersey Chevy dealer has a leftover 2014 SS Red Hot 2 with sunroof and full spare tire for MSRP $47,170 that the dealer says I can buy for $44,537 (GM Supplier pricing is $45,587.01). I was hoping Chevy was part of the 20% Black Friday sale (i.e. Buick-GMC) but even if they were the SS is not part of the holiday sales promotion. If I'm spending $45k, I'm going for a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Crew Cab Standard Bed Z71 4WD
