  1. Three CHEERS for our C&G auto show reporting crew, William & Drew!!!
  2. MSRP = $47,855 / GM Supplier = $44,619.20
  3. You sure you get the $4,500 rebate plus the 0% for 60 months? Two Saturdays ago I was at my GMC test driving a leftover 2014 Sierra 1500 SLT Double Cab Z71 4WD and was told $4,500 rebate ($2,000 + $2,500 rebates) or $2,000 rebate + 0% at 60 months.

  5. Went to the Atco Raceway for the 2014 BOPapalooza show (Buick-Olds-Pontiac) and saw many of my favorite Pontiacs ('56 Star Chief Sport Sedan, '57 Star Chief Sport Sedan, '58 Bonneville Sport Coupe, '61 Catalina Bubbletop, '62 GP) and fell in love with two Olds - '50 Futuramic Two-door Sedan and '40 Coupe). Bonneville pic provided below with a '70s Olds Ambulance as Ecto-1). On the way home passed a '58/'59 GMC Wideside [fleetside] pickup - if I drove would have turned around!). Stopped by my GMC dealership to test drive and talk numbers on a leftover '14 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Double Cab 4WD (pic below).
  6. Missed you on here but got you on Facebook. Hope you had a great birthday, Drew!!
  7. I'll thank you too for providing this write-up. It's no secret that I am considering my next vehicle at this time and though I'm heavily leaning towards a pickup truck the Chevrolet Impala LTZ is the one car that made the list. I have checked them out at a local dealer but have yet to go for an actual test drive. The styling, options & features, and the great reviews on these cars are what caught my interest. I'd love to consider an SS Sedan but they're at least $6K higher than where I need to be price-wise. I haven't ruled out the Impala yet though it does seem natural for me to go for a new GMC Sierra or Canyon.
  8. Sunday lot cruising... found a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ in the new Deep Ocean Blue Metallic Color: Unfortunately it was parked inconveniently for my picture taking needs I should have gone out earlier when the sun was hitting it to get a true sense of this new blue... however, I'm liking it better than the Cobalt Blue (GMC's name, can't recall Chevy's name) on the 2014 models. I think I still would go with the new dark green (Emerald Green Metallic=GMC/Rainforest Green Metallic=Chevy) if I were to buy a new 2015 FS truck (it's a shame as dark blue is my favorite color, but I'd rather have a navy blue than a bright blue).
  9. I'm off from work today and just dropped my daughter off at Pre-K (school). On thethe way home at a red light was a car carrier with 3 new 2015 Chevy Silverados, one in the new blue metallic color. From what I saw of it (1,000 feet away), it looks nice. Need to cruise through the local Chevy dealer this weekend to see if he was the one that received it to check it out closer.
  10. Finally caught a glimpse of the new 2015 GMC Canyon today! I was travelling on Route 1 North outside of Princeton and on a side street was a car carrier with 5-6 GMC Terrain SUVs and 1 Canyon All Terrain SLE Crew Cab 4WD in black. I'll have to scope out the dealers in the Princeton area to see who may have received it.
  11. MSRP on this Colorado is $38,025 and while I have a couple of dark nighttime pics I'm going back over the weekend to get some better daytime shots.
  12. Last night I got to test drive a brand new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab Long Bed LT 4WD in Rainforest Green Metallic with Jet Black/Dark Ash Leather interior. This truck was very well equipped; LT Luxury & Convenience packages, G80 locking rear differential, Nav Radio w/ Bose speakers, Safety Package, All Weather Floor Mat, and Trailering Package. It was about a 15-20 minute test drive on local highways (55 MPH limit) and some downtown/Main Street areas. I must say I was very impressed with the ride, handling and steering feel of the Colorado. The roads were a mix of new asphalt and broken pavement. The Colorado provided a much smoother ride over these same streets than my Envoy and the ride was very reminiscent of the 2014 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab rental I had in June. The seats felt very comfortable and I had plenty of headroom & legroom (I'm 5'9" and ~240 lbs). My 4 y-o daughter was the only back seat occupant but she had plenty of leg room behind my seat. I had pushed it up to 64 MPH without really knowing I was going that fast and felt the 3.6L V6 engine was powerful enough for my motivating needs. All in all, I was very excited to finally see, sit in, and drive one of the General's new mid-size pickup trucks. I really liked the look of the LT trimmed Colorado with the chrome (grille, door handles, rear bumper), the look of the LT-specific 17" rims and of course my favorite new color (dark green metallic). If I wasn't such a 'GMC Truck' guy I may have pursued this truck more ;-)
  13. I'm dying to see this new blue color (GMC calls it 'Stone Blue Metallic'). Is it a dark blue color? I wasn't sold on the 2014's Cobalt Blue Metallic, it was too 'electric' blue for my tastes. I'm disappointed that a dark blue color is not offered on the new Canyon I find it to be actually similar to GM's famous Marina Blue of the 1960's. It's a medium blue, not electric like Cobalt. I really like it myself. Thanks. I can't wait to see one in person myself. I've been a big fan of GM's midnight/indigo/dark blue colors on the full-size trucks the past decade or two... the recent use of electric blue (laser blue, for example) have not been my cup of tea. I'm interested in the Emerald Green Metallic and Bronze Alloy Metallic colors, but would have went gaa-gaa for a dark blue color.
  14. Me too!! Good luck with the Firebird!!

  16. I'm being taunted by classic GM pickups lately. Last week on my drive in to work I saw a late '40s/early '50s GMC on the back of a car carrier (looked like an older restoration job or a very good survivor). Today on my way in I got behind a pickup towing trailer with a 1955 2nd Series Chevy 3100 on it that is in need of a restoration job but showing all of it's patina of being a former tradesman's truck (faded business name & number on the door). Had all of its exterior emblems and trim in place (may have been missing a hubcap on the passenger side). One day, ONE DAY!!!
  17. These trucks are far and few to find. I searched eBay yesterday for giggles and found only 1, a '91 Chevy R3500 (2WD) base model. I rarely see any of these for sale around me in southern NJ, though I see plenty still in use (old & worn) or like this one, restored or customized/modded.My wife thinks I'm crazy for wanting a crew cab, long bed pickup and maybe she's right... but I sure love the look of these trucks In case anyone is interested... here's the '91 on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121445414490?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  18. Here's the GMC that I saw on Saturday at a local car show: 1988 GMC V3500 Sierra Classic 4WD Crew Cab Spoke to the owner... pretty cool backstory. His dad ordered it new late '87. It's been in the same family since new and the son (curent owner) completed the restoration recently. He's getting married this upcoming weekend and says his wife is very supporting of his love affair with this GMC
  19. So I just re-read all 13 pages (plus the 2 pages at the link at the beginning of this thread). I never realized how much I posted in this thread since 2006 (obviously I'm very interested in the 'Mothertruck' story ). I attended a local car show Saturday and what did my wandering eyes spot in the distance? A fully restored 1988 GMC V3500 3+3 Crew Cab "Sierra Classic" pickup with the Single Rear Wheel (SRW) setup. I was in love for sure. It got me thinking of Mothertruck again and hence my visit back to this thread.
  20. Went 'window shopping' at FC Kerbeck today. Saw the following: 2014 GMC Sierra SLE Double Cab in Emerald Green metallic: The actual Cadillac Escalade that "Tony Soprano" drove/rode in from the HBO series "The Sopranos", for sale: A late '60s Buick Electra 225 with dealer plates and a 'Not For Sale" sticker in the windshield: A dealership-owned late '90s GMC K-1500 Sierra SL regular cab pickup (still love this design): I went to a local car show yesterday; need to get the pictures off my camera and will post some interesting spots from there soon.
  21. http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2014/09/gm-reveals-the-2015-gmc-sierra-1500-elevation-sport-truck.html dfelt, I think this is the truck you've been asking GMC for (well, minus the black chrome trim).
  22. I'm super excited to get to test drive a Canyon soon! Hopefully lease programs don't take forever to come out, especially the good programs that will help me get into a new Canyon Crew Cab Long Bed SLT 4WD
  23. Bummer for me too...
  24. Any '73-'87 GMCs, SAmadei? $1500 is much closer to my price range.
