  1. Come on Fly & NOS, get serious... with those offers! Camino, I can offer you acomfortable $147.76, plus two 2-liter bottles of Pepsi (much bettr than Coke anyway!). I wish I could go higher on my offer, but I'm just trying to help a fellow C&Ger out here (I don't really need an F-body ya know!).
  2. North Brunswick, huh! For two years (2000-2002) I taught at New Brunswick H.S. Of course I live no where near you or Walt (much further south in Burlington County). Ever been to the Fossil Car Club Cruise Night at the Jackson Premium Outlets in Jackson, NJ? Awesome show, especially in July & August. They take place the last Friday of each month duringt eh evening hours - tomorrow night (28th) for July, August 25th & September 29th are the last two for 2006. And since I actually remembered this time, I think I'll head over tomorrow night! Walt - congrats on the award. I took the SKY to the dealership last Friday and one of the sales guys told me his SKY owner has taken her triple black SKY to two car shows/cruise nights already and has taken awards. He said I should do the same, but I think I'd feel bad taking an award away from a classic car. Btw, you can never post enough pics of your Avanti!!
  3. I really like the GMC Sierra. Can't wait for the non-Denali version to be shown. I'm really happy that the GMC's don't get those awful looking bed flares that the Chevy does. I agree about the tailgate design too - YUCK! Hopefully the GMC's won;t have that too. Flybrian said a few months back that the Sportside Bed option will be returning too with the GMT-900 pickups. Ocnblu, I'm sure a shortbed regular cab model will be offered (thank God a true regular cab model is still offered!) I'm thinking a GMC Sierra SLE Crew Cab Z71 4wd will join the driveway in 2009, 2010 the latest!!!
  4. The date of July 24th has been floated on many sites as when the production of the AURA will begin. My SATURN dealership has told me that they expect their first shipment of AURAs by the beginning of September.
  5. Any news on when you're building a GMC Sierra????
  6. That's correct.Sixty8, where did you find that picture of the red COE model?
  7. Off the subject a bit, but yesterday I went to ACME to pickup some stuff for dinner and they had one of those HW cardboard displays. I took some time to search thru it and guess what I found? The '59 Caddy Treasure Hunt! And at $1.09!!! This makes two T.H. vehicles I found so far this year - the most ever.
  8. Fly or anyone in "the know", any good deals on 2006 Buick Lucernes???
  9. Yeah, I really dig the new Avalanche a lot. It's too bad that the TRUCK DIVISION of General Motors (GMC) doesn't have a version of their own (IMO, Cadillac should not have the EXT). However, if I had the $$$ to buy one, I would overlook the fact it's a Chevy and buy the new Avalanche.
  10. 76ChevyTrucker, you should have added one more option: I LIKE THEM ALL!!! Being a fan of GM trucks throughout time, it's really hard for me to narrow it down to one generation. Instinctively, I'd like to vote for pre-68 as I really like the '55-'57 GM trucks the best. However, the '85-'87 years and the '70-'72 years also rank up there in my book. For the longest time I wanted a '95-'02 Regular Cab, Shortbed, Sportside Z71 4wd too.
  11. Seeing how the Wal-Mart thread has turned out to be a Wal-Mart vs. Target thread and now has added the Warehouse shooping clubs to the mix (Costco), I thought it might be a good idea to get everyone's opinion on the three major warehouse clubs. I have two memberships - one for school-use (Sam's) and one for both personal and school-uses (BJ's). I've gone into a Costco only twice; not sure if I want to add a third membership (school pays for the Sam's and business-BJ's memberships). For those with Costco memberships, why should I get a membership? I added an "OTHER" category, just in case there's a club that's not located on the East Coast that I'm not aware of.
  12. Olds Guy, that T/A can't be offered in the regular line, can it? I'm thinking more along the lines of the Ultra Hots. Is that correct?
  13. Is the 3800 V6 the new & updated Series III version? I don't NEED the CXS V8, but sure do love the sportier looks and uplevel trim it receives. But I probably could do just fine with a CXL V6 with some options. Caddycruiser, that platinum colored Lucerne was one hell of a good looking machine! I'm glad to hear tha it was getting high in the 20s with the gas mileage. Would you say that it was due to highway driving, or mixed? For those following my triad with the Malibu, I've been wanting to replace it but with the SKY purchase almost three months ago, a new car purchase is the last thing on my wife's list. I like the LaCrosse, but the interior packaging isn't the greatest; however, the Lucerne fits the bill nicely. I'd say it would be a toss-up for me between the all-new 2007 Saturn AURA and the all-new Buick Lucerne. I like the prospect of the AURA XR's 3.6 V6, but the soon-to-be discontinued 3800 V6 is a great engine. Also the wife does like the new GMC Acadia, so it's a good possibility that when the Envoy lease expires in August of 2008, an Acadia or Outlook will be in the driveway. So would a large sedan like the Lucerne really be needed?
  14. Well Ocn, just for you (since you were the only one to reply about my cheesy movie nomination!): (that pic is from this past May, according to IMDB.com) Doesn't seem as time has been kind to Christopher! As for Khristy, it seems as if she did some voice-over work in '97 & '98 and then disappeared from Hollywood all together. I'm curious where she's at too.
  15. I gotta tell you, I like the Acadia a lot! At the NYIAS, the wife really liked the Enclave while I really liked the Outlook. Now that GM has finally shown the Acadia, I gotta say I'm in a toss-up which one I like better - Acadia or Outlook. I must say though if GMC is the only one to use HUD, that might be enough to swing me over to the Acadia (and unless Saturn starts accepting GM Card points). I've been serioulsy considering buying my '05 Envoy when the lease expires in August of 2008 - but I might put the money towards a new Lambda crossover instead. The only thing I have to get use to is the drop in the headlights for the turn signals. The wife said that design feature makes it look a little like the foreign trucks.
  16. My nomination for chessiest movie: The Pirate Movie (1982), starring Khristy McNichol, Christopher Atkins and Ted Hamilton. I have to say though I saw this movie when it was NEW back in '82 (I had to be 7 years old at the time) and loved it ever since. Cheesy? Sure. Waste of a good 98 minutes? Depends. But I found it on eBay about 5 years ago (VHS) and watch every so often. Now it's on DVD if you too loved this cheesy movie or if you want to love it!!!
  17. Wasn't the Fiero the 1984 Indy 500 pace car? Is that the error? XP715, I do believe that the actual pace car Fiero used "Super Duty" parts, which basically meant that those parts were intended for race car use-only and not street use.
  18. I made a visit to the local B-P-G dealership Saturday night. On the way out I looked at the inventory of Lucernes. I'd still consider one if in the market - but unforunately I like the CXS V8 model ($38k and up) the best and that is definitely out of my price range. But the dealership had a real nice dark red CXL V6 model with those dark gray rims and cashmere interior that really caught my eye (not sure if I'd like the bench seat option though). Good luck and post pics if your mom gets one.
  19. The problem with "dealer cash" is that it's hidden from consumer's knowledge. When I worked at a Buick-Pontiac-GMC dealership back in '99 & '00, the sales manager would only use the "dealer cash" if the customer was ready to walk out. And then he didn't even give them all of the amount - say the dealer cash was a $1000, he'd offer the customer $500 so the delaership would get the other $500 (I guess they billed GM for the whole amount and the customer only got half). I see no problem using rebates or low/zero interest rates - not hidden dealer cash - to move the leftover, stale 2006 models though.
  20. GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMC's topic in Buick
Hey Sixty8... have you ever seen this concept before? 1957 Buick Skylark II concept car
  21. GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMC's topic in Buick
As with many of the classic GM vehicles, I like the mid-'50s model years the best: My personal favorite model; the 1957 Buick Caballero sport wagon: 1958 1957 1956 1955 1954
  22. This statement puzzles me... 2-door S10 Blazers were made up until 2005.
  23. sixty8, while you're at it, would you mind asking them for some more GMCs? I'd like a '57 stepside pickup, a '70 Jimmy, a '85 Sierra pickup, a '87 Caballero (El Camino), and a '95 Yukon GT (2-door). Thanx!!!
  24. Did you add the "CHEVROLET" script on the upper grille? I don't recall seeing that before. If you did, where did you get it from? And do you have any close-up pics of it??? TIA!
  25. Great color - it's the same color I have on my '07 Saturn SKY! The HHR is the reason I went with that color. I went "Sunday shopping" back in February and saw a 2LT HHR in that color and thought that the chrome really stood out against that gray color (Saturn calls it Silver Graphite; what does Chevy call it?).
