Cheers or Jeers: 20,000 Mile 1956 Pontiac Chieftain Wagon
Camino, here's where you and I differ on our love of Pontiac... I'd take this: or this: over this anyday: But to each their own and I can respect your love affair of any Pontiac

Pre-Caminos, Phantom-Caminos, and one Rare Ford
One of the best '57 Chevrolet Phantom El Camino models I've ever seen was the Danbury Mint 1/25 die-cast version they offered a few years back (and I regret not ordering): http://www.phillymint.com/danburyshopcartAE/dm1538m.htm They even offered a hot rod version too: http://www.phillymint.com/danburyshopcartAE/dm1534m.htm

So what is your next automotive milestone...or millstone....
Any of these, preferably in dark blue, will do: And not that I need the capabilities of a 2500HD, but like the one ocnblu found they are a really nice looking rig too:

Chevrolet News:Spying: Chevrolet SS
I know GM learned their lesson from the intial release of the Pontiac Solstice and dealer jacked up "Market Adjustment Prices", for when the Saturn SKY became available for order GM did not allow the dealers to charge more than MSRP for them (though the loop hole in this was that dealer accessories could be added to jack up the price). If GM caught dealers with MAPs on SKYs, allocation was cut. Don't ask me how they legally did this, but this was the news in early 2006 before I placed my order. Hopefully the New GM makes sure that the double SS's in the name SS Performance Sedan don't turn out to stand for $$'s by some of those greedy Chevy dealers.

So what is your next automotive milestone...or millstone....
Well, since I bought the '06 Envoy as a GM CPO vehicle two years ago, I plan to pay that off and keep it so that I can finally get the new GMC Sierra I've always wanted (likely a 2015 or 2016 model, regular cab, standard or long bed). This way I have the Envoy for family hauling needs and the Sierra for whenever me and myself or me and up to two others want to go somewhere. The wife now realizes that leasing is the way to go for her vehicle since we put so many miles on it for commuting to work. So the G6 will likely stay in the family as an extra car once paid off (summer '14, if not earlier) and she's going to then lease something small and very fuel efficient for commuting to work. I'd like to say that I will stick to this plan, but if I find a classic GMC or something happens to the Envoy in the process, that will throw a wrench into my plans.

Driving the Range Rover Evoque Coupe!
Beautiful little SUV there, and a great write-up too. I've liked the Evoque since they were intro'd as concept vehicles, glad the 2-door made it to production. I was really impressed with this year's concept convertible 2-door (unlike Nissan's ugly Murano convertible ) that I saw at the NYIAS:

Concerning Cort
If he has come here as a guest to visit, I am sure he'd be happy knowing that we've all been worried about him. He said he needs some "offline" time to get his affairs in order, and I know we can all understand what that feels like (everyone needs a break sometime).

2011 Chevrolet Caprice
Yeah, the gold one's appearance is nice, though I'd want a dark blue or dark red exterior color myself As much as a truck guy that I am, if GM/Chevrolet offered a civilian version of the Caprice PPV I would seriously consider buying one. I was planning to go see what kind of deal I could have worked out on a Pontiac G8 sedan before 4th of July in 2009 when my dad had heart problems and went into the hospital for a stent operation (the incentives dried up quickly). Job stability and the loss of Pontiac later in 2009 killed that dream. However, the Caprice could change that...

Amen to that!!

Your internet lust of the day....
Today's Internet Lust vehicle - the Holden Caprice: And wishing that GM/Chevrolet offered this car in place of the 2012 Impala

2011 Chevrolet Caprice
I agree with you Cubical, as I too would want a more pleasing to the eye appearance with this particular Caprice. Which is not a hard thing to do if GM/Chevrolet made civilian models. See these Holden Caprices for an example: Unlike others that feel the current Impala is fine, I disagree. I think it should have been sent to the Fleet for 2012 and the Caprice brought over to take it's place until the 2014 Impala was ready for market, even if it was limited to the 3.6L V6 engine (however it would be hard to not offer the V8). The SS Performance Sedan won't even be a factor here, as it will be expensive and limited in production.

2011 Chevrolet Caprice
Added a a poll to see how many people would like this Caprice as their daily driver. I voted yes, as I would rock one of these Caprices in a heartbeat!! (pun intended)

2011 Chevrolet Caprice
It looks about as exciting as dishwater, so I don't see there being much of a market for it. Especially when the Charger is available. Even in red, the Caprice makes the Lexus ES350 look incredible. The 2014 Impala looks like it will do well against the non-SHO Taurus models. For the SHO crowd GM will offer the SS sedan. Quite an interesting portfolio of larger cars IMHO Well, looks are to each person, and I'm really comparing the current, long-in-the-tooth Impala to the Holden Caprice. I'd much rather drive the Caprice than the Impala. The SS Performance Sedan will be too far out of reach for me, and while I like the new '14 Impala it's not as impressive to me as the '13 Taurus is. Remember, that red Caprice above is a well-spec'd out Flee/9C3 Police model. A civilian version would be a little more glamorous than that, I'd hope!

2011 Chevrolet Caprice
Does GM still have reps for the dealers? Maybe it was one of their demos that they get to drive around in. Or maybe it was a demonstrator car for the Maryland Police (state or local) to use for evaluation tests. The car didn't seem to leave Maryland or Delaware to often!!
