  1. My Dad died 2 years ago so Fathers day isnt the important thing it was before. But Mom and I went to The Darboy Club and had some really good foood(Especially the Chicken) off of their buffet.
  2. And whats to say the radio from the junkyard wouldnt do the same thing in a short time? Just see what the dealer says.
  3. The one I am sitting in has a metal base. I think I bought it in summer 2001. It is pretty decent.
  4. School drivers ed was a brand new 1992 Plymouth Acclaim. Not bad for a Chrysler product but the second I started driving my parents 1978 Impala I knew I had to have a B-body from that point on. I also did a little time with a private firm with a 1989 Cavalier which wasnt bad. Took my drivers test with that and passed. I also had some learning time with the 1985 Caprice I now have.
  5. As for the climate control I cant say since mine doesnt have the duel climate control. Which I dont care that it doesnt have it.
  6. But then again look at Rush Limbaugh. Enough said. I am won dering too what Penske is going to do with Saturn? That leaves Saab and Pontiac. I wonder if Pontiac is just going to get swept under the rug like Oldsmobile was? Saab, I expect somebody to be coming along shortly to take that. Who is anybodies guess. But somebody will.
  7. My Mom and Dads 2002 had the cloth interior and had that insert. My 2008 has nothing though that is a different design.
  8. All of mine are keepers. The Impala is the winter beater of sorts and long distance car. The other 2 are summer only vehicles meant to both enjoy and keep miles off the Impala. The Lawn tractors are good neighborhood runarounds when I am not cutting grass.
  9. Most of my sutff is 1960-70's Craftsman that Dad bought when he worked on cars then. VERY durable stuff. I do have some Harbor Freight stuff that while cheap does serve the purpose. Some Menards brand stuff thrown in for good measure.
  10. One thing GM does have the Chrysler doesnt is good product. Maybe now though somebody can go through and get rid of the poor product that GM does still have and focus on the good stuff. And there is good stuff there. The new Malibu,Camaro, the new full-sized trucks. Call the Impala old but I love mine Most people I talk to that have one love it too.
  11. My Mom and Dad had a 2002 just like that except theirs was the plain model with the bench seat and the 3400. They liked it while they had it. I am loving my 2008. Cant go wrong with an Impala. .
  12. The dealer in my town, at least according to the local TV station didnt get the letter. Makes me very happy since we have done buisness with them forever. Gustmans has various dealerships thoughout Northeast Wisconsin.
  13. I had my first grillout on Friday. Nothing fancy, Brats and the buns that they go in. Went to 2 bonfires after and had a few drinks. Good times. I can drink and not have to drive.
  14. Cool beans!!!! Its cool to see somebody important doing the everyday thing and just hanging out.
  15. I havent changed a huge amount but I have done a few things 1. CFLs where they make sense. 2. Its at the point of the year where I dont use the furnace unless I have to. 3. Go out to eat less. One thing here is that the cost of living isnt really bad. My house payment and taxes are less than $1000 and this is form a brand new house built in 2007. 1442 Sq.Feet which is more than enough for my living arraingment. Insurance is cheap on the house and the cars. Cars are doing well so I havent had a repair on any of them in a long time.
  16. It will be cool when you get it done.
  17. I was in the decision once wheather to flush the fluid on a 1979 Impala or leave it. My Dad and the local dealer told me to leave it alone. It still shifted perfectly at 146,000 when I sold it.
  18. We are working 4 day weeks where I am. We make circuit boards for quite a few things and it has hit us too. They let 44 people go a little more than a month ago. The 4 day weeks are to keep us all there unstead of getting rid of more people. Hopefully they claim June is looking better but I will believe it when I see it. I long for the days like when I got this job back in October of '99 when you had your pick of Jobs.
  19. My dad worked for the bus company in Appleton and had a lot of time with these. I think theirs were 1980 and 1981s. The 1980s were from Calgary Canada and they were very good. The 1981s were from Detroit Michigan and they were pieces of crap. I remember these VERY well.
  20. Its been up and down here but thats normal for this time of the year for here. 70's last Friday and Saturday to the uppers 30's Sunday though tomorrow. 70's again by Thursday. It doesnt really bother me though. Maybe because I have lived here all my life. What is funny here is that people wont run their A/C when it gets warm(And it does) because it costs too much but they will keep their heat set at 76-78 degrees in below 0 in winter. Not me.
  21. Cool!!! Hopefully if its still for sale it will go to the right person who will like it and leave it just the way it is. No need to chop it,lowride it or whatever else people have done to these poor things.
  22. Once you get an optical mouse you wont want to ever go back to a ball mouse.
