Spy Video: 2010 Buick Lacrosse
Is it just me or does this look more like a Sigma than an Epsilon? There is precious little front overhang and the 2nd box looks very CTS like.

CAW President Hargrove Responds
Total BS!!! It is the union that has forced GM and others to pay their workers too much and it is the union's incompetence at recruiting employees of Foreign companies that has created the imbalance in the US. GM, move all production offshore and then let the State governments beg you to build a plant to hire their constituents - this has worked well for all of the other transplants and it can work for you too. F$%@ the union.

Nissan adds MPG gauge to Altima, G35
I would like a FE meter that has three values: instant, average1 (since the car was last started) and average2 (one that can be reset by the user) Then I could monitor by tank of fuel while still being able to know which route delivers the best mileage (I'd never remember to reset this one before I left). Instant is just for curiosity sake.

Chevrolet Crossover likely to be dubbed Traverse
I like the name Trailblazer too but it is not appropriate for this type of vehicle - SoccerParkingLotBlazer would be closer to the truth, and sadly better than Traverse too.

Chevrolet Prepared to Unveil Three Minicar Concepts Next Week in New York
Good for GM but yet another example of design shops in other countries doing the best work. Not to say that Americans can't do it, but you have to admit that the flow of designs and cars seems greater into the US than out of it. It's time for GM NA to step up and design a killer global car.

Confirmed NYIAS Debuts
There's a few articles out now that seem to say that DOD is a DUD. Truck Trend has the 5.3 DOD returning less than the city rating and the 381hp Tundra returning 1mpg better - not good. With the Hummer's aerodynamics, I wonder if DOD will ever kick in.

Camaro Could Spawn Large Cadillac
I would think that using the same platform with better materials (high strength steel and other alloys) would yield a car suitable for the upper end of the luxury car segment.

FIRST LOOK: Chevrolet Avalanche/Tahoe/Suburban Z71s
The wheel flares are ugly. They ruin the nice clean look of the non-Z71s.

Motor Trend Truck of the Year
Sorry to rain on your parade but their weren't any Jap pickups eligible this year, so Americans did not beat the Japs. I'm a GM fan but this award is as meaningless as the Honda Ridgeline win from last year. No competition = joke award. Now if Toyota didn't wimp out, the winner would have real bragging rights...

Pictures of the LAIAS At Last!
What I can't get over in all the pictures is the lack of people. I go to the Toronto car show every year and it's crowded all day, every day... it's hard to take a picture with no people in the way.

Chevrolet Captiva Coming To Canada
Probably alot nicer with the Nav screen...

Chevrolet Captiva Coming To Canada
Where I live, it seems there are more 'nox's on dealer lots than in driveways so it can't hurt sales too much ;(

Future of GM Powertrains
My next two vehicles, a light duty pick-up and a hatch/wagon will be purchased in summer 2008. They will both be diesels and now they look like they won't be from GM. Way to miss out on $60,000+ in revenue GM, and I won't be in the market to replace them until at least 2016. B.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra
I like it alot - I'll be in the market next summer once it has a 6-spd (and hopefully the 4.5l diesel - drool What's the point to having 4 versions of the 5.3 that have same horsepower/torque? Too many assembly lines to change to one design? B

C&G Design Exclusive - 2008 Cadillac CTS
Great chop - wish I was 1/100 the artist! I think Caddy is going the wrong direction. Thick, bulky body styles were big during the run of the SUV but I think that is dying quickly. Look at the new Infiniti G concept with it's sleek low from clip. Even the Chev SS concept was more the right direction... B.
-
....
Amen... Looks like an Aura with a Chevy grill. I was really hoping for something interesting... maybe along the lines of the SS concept. Maybe GM's not quite done with rebadging...

Lutz's perfect summation of Toyota
People tend to criticize and poke fun at the dominant company in asegment. And rightly so as its not easy to be the big dog - everyone is out to claim how much better they are than you. In this case, people are just getting practice for the time when Toyota becomes the world's largest auto manufacturer. Maybe this would be good for GM - get the spotlight off us and maybe the auto rags will give us a fair shake... B.

GM Launches More Fuel-Saving Six-Speed
Anyone catch the comment about 4.0L engine? What's that for? When's it coming? V6 or V8??? B.

SATURN HAS AN ALL-NEW OUTLOOK
Thats OK - I can afford an Aura or Outlook and I prefer styling to be a little on the traditional side. Leave the goofy interiors to Honda and Toyota. I will not buy a Rav4 or Ridgeline because of the gauge cluster and center console, no matter how good the vehicles are. Infact the Ridgeline is exactly the right type of vehicle for me but with that styling - forget it. My wife calls it Aztec Ugly. Maybe the kids (gen Y) like that kind of thing and maybe GM should go goofy in lower priced cars but vehicles aimed at Gen X or older should stay traditional. I'm not saying that I think that either Aura or Outlook is a home run, but appropriate for the target demographic. B.

SATURN HAS AN ALL-NEW OUTLOOK
I thought that too but it also has a bit of Tahoe in it. Definitely butch and very long between the wheels. Overall - I think it is great. Remember everyone that the Saturn can't be too luxurious because that's Buick job. Here they are trying to keep the price down. Good move in my opinion. I wish they would have put a flip and fold type rear seat. They they could really draw sales from Toyota/Honda/Dodge minivans. Many people will pass on the Outlook and go for a minivan because of this. Imagine if we could take conquests from the minivan, crossover and SUV markets with one vehicle! B.

.....
Its got the yellow "crash-test" checker-board stickers on it - probably used for roll-over testing. B.

Can Tundra overcome Domestic loyalty?
He's probably not an idiot but you sound like one. My father, a mechanical engineer, retired from GM Powertrain a few years ago. He told me that in the late 80's and throughout the 90's, many of Toyota's engines were based on GM designs (they bought the blueprints and manufaturing specs for the Chev 2.8l v6 to start designs on their 3.0l v6) and Toyota even purchased blocks directly from GM foundaries and added their own OHC heads.

Buick Enclave features leather, wood
I'll never be able to figure out how pricing is set. In Canada, the MDX is more expensive than the RX330 ($53G vs $52G). I hope the GMC Acadia with 5.3l v8 is less than 80% of the Enclave's price or it might be out of my reach... B.
