What (GM) cars have you owned....?
Out of the ordinary: 1985 Oldsmobile Toronado Brougham Caliente. Had every option except the CB radio. Had the "Classic" grill and stainless steel body mouldings. The previous owner had rigged up the rear air suspension to work with a toggle switch under the dash. I could raise and lower the rear end on command. The novelty wore off kind of quickly and after about a year I switched it back to the automatic leveling system. Not out of the ordinary, but somewhat rare: 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible with the 3.4 DOHC

BMW Turbosteamer Concept
Balthy, I thought that most of those restrictions were for boilers over a certain age. The problem is, very very very few moving boilers have been built in the last 50 years, so all of them are old at this point.

I agree with the Tax loss scenario. The man got into GM. You don't throw this kind of money around for the hell of it.

Buick Reatta Trivia......
If that's the case, Cadillac should have just shuffled along behind their walker a little faster to get the Northstar into the Allante'. Then there wouldn't have been any problems.

BMW Turbosteamer Concept
Except additional weight and complexity. That said, it is still a very interesting idea.

Buick Reatta Trivia......
It was a GM Part's bin execution where someone a chainsaw to the back half of a Riviera. GM didn't really have much more then 3800 to fit in there. Couldn't use the Vette V8s, they are RWD. The only step up for a FWD car at the time was the boat anchor 4.1s, 4.5s, and 4.9s over at Caddy. The S/C 3800 wasn't out for a few more years.

2007 Chevy Aveo Sedan North American Debut
They took a somewhat bland looking, decent little car and made it look great and gave it a class leading interior. Smash hit for GM.

What did the "experts" say about 2005
Who cares about the cost per gallon of diesel. What you need to look at is the cost per MILE to run the car. You take a gasoline Benz E320. I'll take a diesel Benz E320cdi. We each get $20 for fuel. Which one of us will go further on that $20?

Cars Come Back
Curious if this would be an example of a bias... "Honda includes Acura" "Nissan includes Infinity" "Toyota includes Lexus" yet Jaguar, LR, Volvo, and Mazda aren't included with Ford Mercedes isn't included with Chrysler Kia and Hyundia aren't listed together it almost seems random who they do group together and who they dont....... except... not so random.
-
Boneheaded design elements
The ones on the back of the CTS are so large and so bright they end up being rear mounted headlights. It's really great when you're backing up in a dark place.

2.8L V6 in place of 3800 V6
Only 5th and 6th gears felt anemic. All the lower gears felt nearly as peppy as the 3.6 auto. I don't know if the very base CTS loses some of it's sound deadening material, but everything about the car, including the engine, seemed louder then my loaded CTS 3.6.

Just Who Is The #1 Automaker In The World?
Toyota may sell more Camrys than GM sells Impalas. But they don't sell more Camrys them GM sells Impalas, Monte Carlos, Grand Prix, LaCross, Malibus, and LS-series.

No Warrenty Work on weekends
My roommate has a 2005 Grand Am, less then 8,000 miles because he hardly drives anywhere. His heater control is broken. We called the local Pontiac dealer to get a Saturday appointment because he needs his car on the weekdays. They told him they don't do any warrenty work on the weekends. This is a major, every brand but chevy, GM dealer. Anyone encounter this before?

I'm so proud!
I scored 98 on the ASVAB when I was in highschool and I'm in perfect condition. Recruiters bugged the hell out of me for weeks till finally one asked why I wasn't interested. I said "It's that whole 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' I'm not comfortable with. I feel I should be able to tell anyone." Haven't heard from them since.

Chrysler Imperial
Needs a much better interior then the 300, needs a longer rear end and a distinctive <upscale> face.
