How many years would it take you to save $5K? Except the fuel economy are there any other reasons you want a Diesel?

Feb. 2007 Sales: American Honda Motor Co.
Escape still out selling it. I'm sure with big rebates but how much can it cost to build the Escape with that ancient platform and drivetrain.

DCX seeks sale of Chrysler to...GM?
I see your point but how would somebody go about shutting down Chrysler, or most of it?

DCX seeks sale of Chrysler to...GM?
Nissan-Renault, GM and Ford would be a much better fit for Chrysler than MB ever was. I was always skeptical about DCX, they are so limited when it comes to sharing platforms, engines......

DCX seeks sale of Chrysler to...GM?
Chrysler is not going out of business, somebody will buy them.

DCX seeks sale of Chrysler to...GM?
Long term they could save a lot of money, name me one platform type, engine, transmission.....which Chrysler could need that is not already in GMs part bin. All these "parts" are paid for or will be paid for regardless of how big GM is. There is so much duplication that could be taken out. The only question is, is GM healthy enough to handle Chrysler today.

This car should replace my CTS, I have 22 months on my lease. I'll put in a prayer toward lease pull ahead myself.

GM shares shoot up 2.10!
True that, but they upgraded F also. Maybe they upgraded F just to not make their GM connection to obvious.

SPY SHOTS! Chevrolet Equinox SS
Yeah, I know, That's why I said made by GM in my origional post.

SPY SHOTS! Chevrolet Equinox SS
They have more than one 5 speed?
-
SPY SHOTS! Chevrolet Equinox SS
IIRC the only 5 speed made by GM is used in the Sigma vehicles and Solstice. That transmission is RWD/AWD so it can't be used in the Equinox. MY guess it will be the new 6 speed.

Oct. 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Company
Why is it so hard to post the numbers? You called my numbers wrong but will not post the "correct" info. BTW, I did say that I estimated the Mexican and SA sales, no need to insult.

Post your numbers.

Oct. 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Company
It's not that hard to add up monthly sales numbers. What's so over simplified about it?

Oct. 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Company
I was wrong about the plant being maxed out but how are my sales numbers wrong? Do you have better numbers?
-
Oct. 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Company
I don't think they are inflated, during the first 10 months the US sales are 177881, Canada ~15K, I estimated Mexico and SA at 10-15K. Too many countries down there, don't feel like doing the research. According to this random article the plant is already running 24 hours a day. http://www.autonet.ca/News/story.cfm?story...2059993-ap.html

Oct. 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Company
If we consider Mexico, Canada and South America sales the Fusion trio is selling at ~21K units a month. Unless the plant can do more than 250K it's maxed out.
-
Oct. 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Company
What's the plant max capacity?
-
Oct. 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Company
Their Fusion strategy is interesting, while selling 10K units is nothing impressive we have to keep in mind that those are about 95% retail sales. At this point they couldn't sell 20K units a month even if there were that many customers, the plant is already maxed out. It's no wonder that the rebate is only $500 at this time IIRC. I wonder if they will stick with one plant for a few years, until the Fusion is established player and sales can go up without of having to practically give them away.
