So tired of Chinese-made garbage
People said the same about Japan years ago, but they are now rightly known for high quality precision manufacturing. South Korea is making that transition nicely, and China will do the same.

Help Please for Sales numbers?
Nice job! Is it considered acceptable by the crazies on Wikipedia to link to C&G when it's really a Chrysler press release?

December 2010 Sales: General Motors
I'm surprised the HHR is still doing so well. Fleet sales? Also seems the Camaro needs a refresh.

Help Please for Sales numbers?
This is a good idea actually. I don't think you need a Wiki account to post there, or at least you didn't a couple of years ago.

All current and former Cobalt owners, please read
Congrats on your purchase! Not a great sign for GM if the 5 year old Civic is better than the Cruze.

I Might Need a Psychiatrist...
I think I remember you singing the praises of the Axiom on the old Edmunds boards in around 2003.

Nude model or groping victim?
Today's Washington Post: Metro transit police announced this afternoon that they will, within a few days, begin conducting random inspections of carry-on items on the Metro system as a security measure. Metro said the inspections will take "only minutes" and that police will check bags and packages for "hazardous materials."

Nude model or groping victim?
More! India Thursday termed as "unacceptable" the "pat down" search Indian ambassador Meera Shankar was subjected to in the US, the second time in three months, and said it will take up the issue. Washington however, asserted that diplomats were not exempt from the searches even as it expressed regret and agreed to look into the incident. "The way they pat them down - it was so humiliating," said Tan Tsai, a research associate at MSU's International Security Studies Center who witnessed the screening. "Anybody who passed by could see it." Mississippi Lieutenant Governor Phil Bryant, who had met Shankar during her visit to the state, said that they regretted the "outrageous" way she was treated. Of course it's only outrageous when it's someone important.

AZ Wrong on immigration
It is in a sense, but on the margin it's better than just ignoring the issue and insisting on building an East German wall and pounding the table about illegals and "rule of law".

AZ Wrong on immigration
Hey, some conservatives are coming around on this! Here's the American Enterprise Institute: It is well-known that, for generations, America attracted Europeans, Asians, South Asians, and others to come here, learn, and in many cases start and build businesses. Modern Silicon Valley wouldn’t have been possible without this dynamic. Less well-known today is that increasing numbers of Indians, Chinese, and other talented students studying in the United States don’t plan to grow roots here. They sense more opportunity outside the United States. And they don’t want to put up with the hassles of current US immigration law. And here, incredibly, is the National Review: With unemployment so high, it’s time to look outside the box for new ways to create jobs. My suggestion is that we pass legislation letting more foreign entrepreneurs enter the country via start-up visas, which would give two-year visas to any entrepreneur backed by investors who was committed to hiring five or more Americans. I don't really agree with this second one, but it's better than just waving their hands and saying illegal immigrants are t3h suck.

C&G - Top 10 recently canceled vehicles that should be brought back
I'm gonna go with the Dodge Magnum. I'm a big fan of wagons, and the fact that it was RWD and performance-y is a big plus. The exterior styling was mean, and it took guts to introduce the wagon with no sedan for a few years. It had some serious flaws (engines, craptastic interior), but I approve of the general concept.

Or 9-7X! Kidding, still thinking about my real nomination.

Does something like the Cobalt count as canceled?

First Look: 2011 Chrysler 300
How long is this thing supposed to last in today's market? This refresh would have been good a few years ago, but it will be a joke in 2014.

Nude model or groping victim?
Strong words from The Economist: "American life after 9/11 has been marked by flailing, unfocused violence abroad combined with a timorous, paranoid crouch at home. Our desperate flag-waving and chest-beating only makes more vivid that this has been an age of fearful truculence and squandered liberty upon which we will some day look back with shame."

Nude model or groping victim?
Note that cockpit doors now lock. That alone would have stopped 9/11.

Oh good, this makes sense. Might as well kill anyone on unemployment, right?

So our current population is absolutely 100% scientifically ideal? What a coincidence.

Best used cars for ~$10K?
Isn't the Trailblazer an EXT? That seems like overkill for your brother; probably best to sell that to a family that needs the space.

AZ Wrong on immigration
My story is consistent: wealth is good. Dollars allow one to acquire wealth. Immigration is good. Trade is good. They create wealth And rent seeking is bad. It destroys wealth.
-
AZ Wrong on immigration
Um, yes it does. Gains from trade. I want the relaxation more than the $20, and the hired help wants the $20 more than relaxation. That's what wealth is.

AZ Wrong on immigration
I like wealth. If a nice Dominican wants to come here to work and increase my wealth, that's fine with me. Forcing the nice Dominican to live in abject poverty to protect a less productive person who happens to live here does not increase my wealth. Whenever your ancestors moved here, pick the year before that and see if you'd like it if people blocked their entry and you had to live somewhere fun like Belarus.

Again, the market takes care of that by itself.

This is incredibly stupid. Should you not be allowed to move to Montana in case you take the job of an honest Montanian?
