  1. If Hyundai sucks so bad - then how were they able to develop a completely new V6, Auto and platform when GM can't seem to do that for their high profile cars. The Impala is a great expample of a half baked new car. To many carry over parts that build a pretty good car - but not all new. I would rather have an Impala over a Sonata for a variety of reasons - but you must give Hyundai credit - they broke into the top ten with a very short history - GM has worked all of its big nameplats OUT OF the top ten except a couple... GM is headed for a turnaround - but right now we all need to take Hyundai seriously. I would imagine that the Sonata steals more Malibu sales than Accord/Camry sales.

With the auto shows so close it is interesting that GM is introducing these vehicles now. Are they saving better things for next month or just spreading out their upcoming vehicles?
  3. The Avalanche is a modified Suburban. Even though it has a bed - it is not directly related to the trucks.
  4. Having seen and sat in both the Sky and Soltice - I can say that the Sky gives a better first impression. I can't wait to drive them for comparisons sake. At first I like the Soltice more - but the interior of the Soltice (while nice looking) is very cheap feeling. The Sky is worth the extra $5K just based on the interior alone. I'm not in the mood for a two seat roadster, but the Sky would get my vote over the Soltice and Miata. Saturn is poised for a rebirth... First Sky, then Aura and finally the car that is high on my list... the Outlook. I can't wait.
  5. Going to bed. Hopefully there will be more info later today.
  6. Someone over at GM is laughing there head off right now. I guess they probably think that most of us enthusiasts that waited up for nothing aren't there intended market. They are right - I can't afford an Escalade, but it sure would be nice if they say the 10th, that they deliver. I can't believe this.
  7. There has to be more pictures than the two on MPH magazine... I like what I see. The dash looks great.
  8. mphmag - can you post those here?
  9. 30 minutes and counting.
  10. Just two and a half more hours!
  11. It is smart to use the new six speed in the Escalade - most of the competition uses a 5 or 6 speed.
  12. Is the release time Eastern? As in 12:01AM EST?
  13. Even from the small grainy picture you can tell that the center stack is very different. The NAV/Radio/HVAC controls are all different as is the overall shape of the dashboard. Also, the guages are different than in the tahoe/Yukon. I don't know how you can say that is just "slightly altered". This is so much better than anything in the past in terms of differentiating the GM truck line interiors.
  14. If they had left my link up - then everyone would realize it comes from a member of the GMInsideNews website. He took photos of a salellite presentation to dealers last week. I'm sure GM is pissed and trying to find out who this guy is.
  15. Why can you post a link to edmunds, but not GMI?
  16. Correct. I don't mind the column shifter. The interior will excell in so many other areas, the column shifter will be minor.
  17. Right click on the picture and click add to favorites - go view it from your favorites and then the picture will show up in the thread.
  18. Go to the link below for a new picture of the Escalade dash. This is just amazing. *edit* Link removed, please post a direct link to the image from another hosting source
  19. Here is the unveiling schedule for the 2007 Escalade: November 9th - Beverly Hills, CA - private showing to select business and entertainment stars who contributed in the design process. November 10th - Internet - 12:01AM (my understanding) official photos and more information will be available for viewing - come to this site and GMI for more information. November 11th - South Florida International Auto Show - 12:00 PM Public/Media unveiling. Finally - NAIAS - the ESV and EXT will be introduced at the NAIAS in Detroit in January.
  20. If any of these new GMT-900s have a chance to succeed it is the Escalade trio (Escalade, ESV and EXT). It has already been said, but if you are spending north of $60,000 on a vehicle, then the gas price isn't realy a concern. Yeah, you may hate paying $3.00/gallon for gas, but you CAN and that is the issue. Now the Tahoe which will have a transaction price of nearly half the Escalade may be hurt by rising gas prices just because it will be marketed more toward the middleclass / lower upper class. If the new Cadillac trucks have all the quality, features and styling that has been promised, then it will control the lux-truck market. I predict a huge success for these new rides.
  21. An ok review. I think this will sell much better than the Lacrosse. My father is a dentist and is looking to replace his 1996 Town and Country with an American sedan. I view my parents as the target market for this car - Dad is 55, professional, uppermiddle class. My mom drives a 2004 Town & Country Limited. I first showed them the Lacrosse this past summer and my mom hated it. She didn't like the grill and the dash was too busy. I showed my parents the Lacrosse this past weekend and they loved it. This will be their next car. The biggest difference was the styling. They were perfectly willing to spend more money to get the look of the Lucerne over the awkward styling of the Lacrosse. And to prove a point that the target market doesn't really care about the number of gears in the transmission... my dad was more interested in the reliability of Buick and the understated luxury than he was worried about price and the number of gears in the transmission. B/T/W - they will be getting the V8. My mom wants leather and dad has to have the Northstar. I think if buick would clean up the nose of the Lacrosse - the sales would improve. Like my mom said, the lacrosse looks too much like a Taurus... Great job Buick. Let's just hope the Enclave is even better. There just might be a future for Buick after all.
  22. Update on the reveal. It sounds like the introduction on Rodeo Drive is tomorrow night and is invitation only. The release of pictures will be Thursday morning.
  23. From an inside sorce who has begun posting pictures and other vital data the word is this: "As I mentioned in previous threads, during the recent Satellite broadcast to dealers Cadillac announced the reveal would take place in Beverly Hills on November 9th at a "star studded" event." It sounds like the big day is tomorrow!!! The Fastlane Blog confirms that the intro is in Beverly Hills and NOT the South Florida Auto Show on Friday. This means that we should see pictures tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!
  24. AH-HA - what happens on Thursday? Is it the reveal in Beverly Hills that is referred to the the GM Blog? Here is a quote from the GM Blog: "FastLane radio host Deb Ochs interviews Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager, about the unveiling of the 2007 Cadillac Escalade, being revealed this week in Beverly Hills, Calif. " Do tell - do you have more info?
  25. Just a few more days until the real thing is introduced. Does anyone know if official pictures will be available at 12:01 AM on Friday or will we have to wait until the actual show?
