I am a staunch supporter of GM. But to tell you the truth, lately, the "doomsday" articles are starting to all say the same things: retirement benefits, health care, and the union. Although one author of one article may simply copy another article's contents, each one bascially says the same thing...GM may be beyond the point of return and is just preparing itself for bankruptcy. You'll never hear anything like that from GM's exective board but you have to admit that there may be those types of contingency plans in the works. I will not say that GM is going to go bankrupt. It may not. The real fact here is this: "Ladies & Gentleman, it's going to be a close one". [Photo finish.]

For many years we have seen business that lose money simply "revise" their respective retirement plans without the executive board making sacrifices. By the GM Executive Board taking pay cuts and forgoing cash incentives, this makes a strong statement that the current management is committed to bringing GM back to the glory it once was. Hopefully, the lessons learned from these decisions are applied to future decisions and GM will be more profitable than ever. Also, being one of the biggest buisnesses in the world, maybe GM has set an example for other struggling compaines to follow? Good for GM, good for you.

As far as I'm concerned, all foriegn automakers can go to hell and savor the heat and high flame. American engineering will always supercede the competition. You are safer in a domestic vehicle than a vehicle produced by Toyota, Hyundai, or Kia. Buy a GM or a Ford, then buy a Toyota or a Hyundai and rip them apart down to the frame and compare. SAFER = DOMESTIC DEATH BOX ON WHEELS = TOYOTA, HYUNDAI, KIA Also consider this: Why would Hyundai & Kia offer such a long warranty on what The O.C. considers to be a superior powertrain? If memory serves me correctly, the engineers at GM that produced the 350 small-block Chevy drained it of oil and coolant. It took 2 hours before the block demolished itself. Considering that and the fact Chevrolet offers 1/3 the warranty Hyundai or Kia does, which would you consider to be the superior powertrain?

I am at a loss for words...this is quite possibly the single, most important step GM can take on its way to back to the top. It's body lines, powertrain, interior are all beautiful and well designed. The interior (although some say is ugly) captures the true essence of American muscle. I cannot wait to see if is the concept springboards to an actual production model. It is time to start saving my pennies because when the Camaro hits showroom floors, I will definitely be buying one.

I will admit I do not post that often on here although I enjoy this website's coverage of GM and other topics. On the other hand, news like this (the 2007 Tahoe) almost makes me want to cry for joy. There finally seems to me some light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully the 2007 Tahoe marks the beginning of GM's journey to the top again. And whatever they learn from the 2007 Tahoe, maybe they can apply that knowledge to the Camaro if its produced.
