  1. Selling a sedan (body style that sells well in the US and Asia) is the clever way to get added scale economies on the A- and B-class platform, IMHO. The "Many variations of the next S-Class" item caught my attention too... Wonder if it's about a convertible only or variants that will take it to the stratosphere pricing-wise (as Maybach's dead and never built an image for itself that spiced up S-Class can't match).
  2. Yep! I think that how 'co-developed' should be interpreted here: GM does the bulk of the platform engineering work, PSA adapts to their needs.

    mind
  4. Well, GM did this with the current Z06 engine, right? IIRC it's a 7.0L hand built version of the smallblock... So doing it for Cadillac could be achieavable. Can't comment on the technical aspects of the engine though...
  5. There's always that 'air powered car.' But I'm not sure we'll want to pump that type of gas out of a hose. LOL I have created the Butt-n-ator. This is a self fueling power source for auto's. Just eat plenty of material that causes gas such as Dairy, Cabbage, beans, broccoli, etc and then when driving you can just fart into your seat and it is stored in a special can under the seat and used to fuel the car. Natural Methan at it's best. And all without any hoses involved... Excellent idea!

  7. Wonder if anyone will figure out how to make petrol out of farts...
  8. Only an eight-year run for EPII? Seems sudden. But if this is a lightening program, then full speed ahead. It is one of the heaviest platforms in the class, it needs to be replaced. Yeah, a diet is in order...

    Thanks all!
  11. A-Class is not an a-segment car in any way. It's Golf-sized; B-Series is not fiesta sized either (B-Segment); and the C-CLass is actually a D-segment car. The others seem correct to me. But that's not the point of my reply. The point is that, as for the Cadillac names, I'd use only Escalade (as, rapper car or not, it has built its own brand equity) and Eldorado (heritage FTW!) as 'special' flagships... The more excessive/outrageous/luxurious side of Cadillac if you will...
  12. The 3 letter names, IIRC, are not supposed to mean anything. To me, GM tried to tie the entry-level Catera Touring Sedan to the CTS (which was supposed to be the entry-level Cadillac when 1st introduced). What I don't like re the names is the lack of logical progression... ATS - to - CTS - to - LTS isn't logical at all, but then again the progression from C-Class to E-Class to S-Class isn't either and it works. Personally, I'd loved if Cadillac's names would have been something like the Series 60, Series 70, and Series 90 from the old days...
  13. Let's hope so. It needs to carve a niche for itself, and the 'Luxury' part of the equation can very well be that niche...

    1968-1977 C3 inspiration, maybe???

Wonder if such a hybrid setup wouldn't be better introduced in a NG XLR before it makes its way into the Corvette... The old "nothing can touch Corvette performance" needs, perhaps, to be redefined...
  17. 100% agreed. Financial considerations aside (which tie deeply into the XTS being the workhorse vehicle for Cadiilac in the livery/limo business going forward), was it so much worse to have rebodied the Statesman/Caprice into this design? :/
  18. Nice future Buick I see there. GM would be stupid not to offer this as the Verano convertible IMHO...
  19. True... Yet I feel so
