  1. We should take a poll and check it and the end of the year. I say they'll be lucky to sell 25k this year.
  2. Probably not but Wagoner would be great on dancing with the stars.
  3. Later on CNN had Wagoner on and he wasn't much better. He tries his best to dance around the questions. Wolf asked him what was GM's biggest mistake and instead of dancing he should of just said we built a lot of crappy cars in the 80's and 90's, we lost a lot of customers but we've made great progress in the last few years and we just need a bridge loan to get us through these economic tough times.
  4. I actually watched 3 hours of this on the internet today at work and found it interesting. Wagoner isn't a very good speaker, he studders when he answers. I've always heard a lot of bad things about Nardelli and his past at Home Depot but I can say this guy knows his stuff about the auto industry. He was the best speaker of all of them.
  5. I'm glad Pontiac is going to survive for now. My computer was down last night so I wasn't able to get the full details of the plan until this morning at work. The only news I got last night was on TV and they said GM would be concentrating on its 4 core brands then they showed an old 80's commercial of a Fiero with the We Build Excitement tag line and said Pontiac was dead. Then i saw some A hole on CNBC say that he hoped the 3 CEO's were driving Toyota's to Washington so they wouldn't have to worry about breaking down. Needless to say i didn't get much sleep last night. What car are they referring to on page 22 of the plan where it says they plan to introduce this market's smallest 4 passenger vehicle, achieving higher fuel economy than the 2 passenger Smart ForTwo?
  6. What a sad sight to see, the leader of GM sitting there begging these clowns for money. All the news clips I saw of this made me sick to my stomach. The three of them looked like students being scolded in front of the principal. The next time they go to Washington they should play it safe and car pool.
  7. I came across another site http://www.helpfixgm.com/ for those of you with a lot of ideas and time on your hands.
  8. 1. 1 2. Malibu might be my next new car
  9. 1. 0 2. No
  10. Except for all the bad press it gives them and adds to peoples belief that GM is going down the drain. I've always wondered why they never decided to build a small fuel efficient vehicle in Canada, it makes perfect sense. Like Lutz says build em where you sell them. I always thought it would of been a great way to save St-Therese hopefully now it can save Oshawa. Isn't the small car segment close to 40% of all sales in canada? If not Canada then it is in Quebec.
  11. Very interesting. I'm guessing you got this info today to cheer up a battered dealer network? I too am hopeful the Oshawa closing is smoke and mirrors. A Silverado hybrid is just what the doctor ordered but it has to be a big improvement, not just 1 or 2 mpg. I Hope the new Equinox has a 4cyl now.
  12. I agree. This company is going down the toilet. The only thing they know how do to is close plants. Another 4 plants close and tens of thousands of people out of work, no big deal. What are they up to now 15 plants closed since November 2005?. You would think they would of seen this coming 2-3 years ago and had other product in the pipeline to build at some of thier truck plants. While they were at it yesterday they should of pulled the plug on the Camaro too since the last thing they need is a gas guzzling muscle car. How ironic will it be next spring when 2500 people at the truck plant will be getting pink slips because of gas prices and next door they'll be launching the Camaro. They couldn't sell that in 2002 when gas was $1.25 a gallon. Idiots
  13. Nice to see the 2LT get the 6 speed standard, hope there's not too much of a price increase. Do you know if they will start builing the 09 Malibu earlier than usual? Seems kinda early to have the specs up for the 09's.
  14. I've always referred to my own cars as girls. Goes back to me dad when I was young, he would talk to his cars when they'd have trouble starting in the winter and say "come on girl".
  15. Driving home today on the hwy I was passed by a 65-66 4 door Chevelle Malibu, it looked a little rough but original. Gotta wonder why a car like that was out today as there's still 5 feet of snow on the ground here.
  16. Beat me to it by a minute
  17. I'm not a big fan of Hollywood and its culture but california is looking pretty good right now...... There's an old Cutlass in that garage that's dying to get out.
  18. Sounds like your left foot is the problem, remove that and you should be okay. Maybe a loose wire or the body control module.
