Check out the endless summer one in the right hand corner from the mid 80's. All of GMC's trucks parked together by the campfire and hot girls in bathing suits. That wouldn't fly today. Interesting post. Imagine if they would have thought of taking the Chevrolet brand global 40 years ago were it would be today. Here in NA I'm hoping the new Accord can take sales from the Camry if the Malibu can't.

I got that poster from a friend at work, his brother in law works at the Oshawa truck plant and whenever he sees him he always gets posters for me. I think I got that poster before the trucks even came out in 99. I have some other nice ones I should take pictures of for you guys.

yeh it will but with the weather we're having I'm hoping to get a few more good weekends of driving. Today it was sunny and 75 and I went for a drive out to the country were I took these pics and I saw about 8 old cars. I don't think anyone wants to put their toys away yet. But up here the weather can change overnight.

Its running at about 20% capacity you would think they would want to close it sooner,why wait another 4 years. it shouldn't be that hard to switch Kappa to Bowling Green.

I never understood why Chevy didn't get a version first, another example of poor planning. The end of the Trailblazer will put the Moraine,Ohio plant in jeopardy but nothing has been said about it latley since its part of another union.

They were way off on August's predictions so who knows.

If they couldn't make money building the Delta's in the U.S. at Lordstown how can they give them subcompacts? you would think they would be even less profitable.

It might be good for investors but a strike sends a negative message to everyone else. This will be the big story on the major networks today and most people will probably shake their heads in disbelief at the same old nonsense from Detroit.

I'm guessing the union leaders are trying to look tough by announcing an 11:00 am strike and will have a deal just before the deadline. I'm praying the UAW doesn't screw this up. While GM has plenty of vehicles in stock not building anything probably costs them millions of dollars a day.

I've bought 2 new cars that came from there too. I also toured it back in my younger days so I hope it survives.

Nice looking solid car and welcome to the Cutlass club. The interior is real nice, not too many in those years had buckets so that's a major bonus. The roof looks like its toast but those years didn't rust underneath the vinyl as bad as the older ones like mine. Good luck with it.
