....not from me. I like these types of wheels. Not every car has to have big open 5-spoke wheels.

Buick and GM have to get back to slick, sophisticated lifestyle advertising and media campaigns. I open the paper and what do I see, GM firesale ads screaming at me....you look at say Lexus and may others, a quiet luxury marketing. Buick has some good products, they are not marketed the way they should be.

To me the Vette is stunning, no need for a lot of flashy addons and paint schemes. The Viper, while I like it..is so loud and brash....not something I would want to be seen in everyday.

In fact, one of the fastest-growing segments in the industry right now is the premium performance-SUV market. Even Land Rover is getting into the act with its Range Rover Sport S/C (fully explored elsewhere in this issue). Power and performance are back, and SUVs are getting the full dose. With the 6.1-liter Hemi V-8 at his disposal and a cautious green-light from Jeep engineers, Dan Knott, director of the Street and Racing Technology group, was given the task of turning on- and off-road performance into something more pavement-biased. The result is a menacing-looking Jeep Grand Cherokee with 415 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque running on low-profile W-rated (168-mph) 255/45R20 tires in front and 285/40R20s in back. SRT mad scientists actually lowered the stance of the Grand Cherokee one inch (that may be a Jeep first) and stiffened the suspension with specially tuned springs, shocks, bushings, and anti-roll bars. They even reshaped the front knuckles to allow the vehicle to take a better set when entering corners at high speed. Jeep is being radically changed. The Jeep name has such iconic recognition, it's really a cool label. I think they will be very successful with this strategy. Hummer is also flirting with softer mainstream products as well, such as the H3.

..by 'ahead of it's time', I meant that it was bringing back that concept of the convertible SUV, after a long absence. There is a massive variety of 4-doors. So sick of the homoginized SUV....they are all the same. I'm glad this is stretching things a bit. It seems so appealing to me the idea of an open air SUV...I love those Jimmy and Blazer two doors.

Of course Harley Earl had a real facination with those pointy 'breasts' on cars also....he must have been a breast man. I'm sure he would say he borrowed the idea from the nose of jets...maybe:).

I'm not offended in the slightest lol. The Japanese auto makers must be thinking, how did South Korea manage to come on so strong manufacturing cars. The new Sonata is so good, they must be worried over at Toyota and Honda.

When I see the interior of this incredible '58, something about bench seats with open floor, really appeals to me. Maybe the new Grand Prix could take inspiration fromt the Attacks rear end and you would have an updated '58 Bonneville.
