  1. you know....this is like my friends that like to go and shove 454s into S10s and stuff. Its hilarious, fun, and makes for one hell of a sleeper. Or like the friend that has a '74 Caprice with the GMPP crate 572 shoved into it with a Wieland 8-71 blower tucked on top of it. And what better way to make it Pontiac's REAL performance monster than to cram that LS2 under the hood of the Solstice

I'm sorry guys, but that bastard should be taken out and shot. Its really sad that the car companies (see the article, it mentions that this horse's ass worked for more than Honda) would get paid to go in and be an "expert" witness only to tamper with the evidence that could get safety regulations improved. A person's life is far too valueable a thing to let something like this just get glossed over and forgotten about. And yes, a seatbelt will have essentially stretch marks where it dug into your body during an accident, and your body will have marks on it.

I definintely love the way the concept HHR looks and the chopped one. I say, build 'em both and we will come.
  4. Gee, that's not surprising. Chrysler having transmissino troubles. I have a "slightly" brain damaged friend with a '97 Ram 3500 4wd and he's been through three transmissions....although he thinks that the Allison in the 3500-ish Chevys and GMCs won't hold up, so he continues to throw tranny after tranny into it.
  5. I'd have to say that I agree with most of what was said, the ratings are pretty well on, a slight optimistic, but as a General Motors and Chevrolet enthusiast, isn't that what we are supposed to be? And for being an owner of a Cobalt, I love the little bugger, and if only I wasn't really badly upside down on my '01 Impala 9C1, I'd be getting either a new Impala, or an HHR (sorry, gotta love old suburban cues, even if it is fwd and a 4-banger). And I definitely agree with the comment that Chevy is NOT a premium grade car, it's the car that you get as the everyday driver, just like Pontiac would be the car you'd get to go do performance stuff with (althought right now dear Poncho isn't much in the performance department) and a Caddy is the car you get when you want to go and be all luxurious (sp?) on yourself. Overall, I love Chevy....great rides.
  6. I hate to say it, but I actually like the 3.9, I'm still pissed off that they couldn't have designed it off the already well-designed and well-known 90-degree 3.8L engine (which runs like a damned champ in my '01 9C1 Impala), but to each its own I guess. Good to see that at least some of GM's engines are winning awards, although it is PM instead of some of the other Auto Rags.
  7. All right, so Saab's are having problems, but the question is, what kind of overheating? Is it electrical overheating (which can lead to fire) or some other form of something getting hotter than its supposed to?
  8. I would shit a house if Solstice got a V8....but it'd be damn fun, but what would insurance run for something THAT fun? God forbid any 'normal' person try to get one.
  9. I wouldn't want to make a guess but I do agree that with a moved fuel filler door, it would make it complaint to US regulations, which could very well mean that they are development mules for some form of Holden move to the US, either with new product for Pontiac (although the wagon might be a bad idea), or with a little bit of new product for everyone.

I agree with what everyone has pretty much said. Unions have their good sides and their bad sides, the only down side is that there are a lot of people that want to collect a check and not actually WORK. Like today, I work at a CarQuest parts store and we got a delivery in, so I helped the guy offload it off the truck, signed for the delivery and put up 3/4 of it before someone even lifted a finger to help me....but that's the way it goes, a lot of people just want to take up space and get money, instead of actually having to do their damned jobs.
  11. I'll doggone sure agree with that one. They ARE getting butt-ugly...
