Project car
Probably some early-mid 80s GM coupe or a Ford fox-body vehicle (Mustang, T-bird, Cougar, etc). Or a mid 70s Cadillac or Lincoln. There's too many cars I would want to restore so it's hard for me to pick just one.

New Impala Squad Car
I don't know, the '06 Impala doesn't have the menacing, low-slung look that the Vic cruisers have. Or the RWD. But the Impalas would definately be preferable for daily patrol work where the fuel economy is needed more.

Picked up the new Korn album...
I used to listen to Korn a lot back in the day, but I've kinda grown out of them. I still have good memories of when we first got the internet and I tuned into internet radio all day long to hear songs like "Got the Life" and "Freak on a Leash," which had just been released. Actually, the internet is really what helped me find out about all kinds of bands....before that, I just listened to whatever my friends listened to.

My Merc
Nice GM. My grandpa owned a '90 Grand Marquis until he bought his 2000 Crown Vic LX, and recently he bought an '05 Grand Marquis Premier. I'll have to get some pictures of it when I go out to visit him in the next couple weeks.

Chevy Biscayne
I found these pics on Ebay...I never really hear much about this car, but it sure is a beaut. This '62 is in great shape overall.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
LOL...fast food jobs...gotta love 'em.

In the market...
My dad has a '92 Eighty Eight regency with the 3800. I'm not sure how many miles it has on it now, but it's over 150,000. It's been fairly reliable for him...I can't remember what specific problems it has had since he has owned it, but it's been a pretty good daily driver. The 3800 has good power and torque...punching the 3800 makes the 3100 in my Lumina seem wheezy.

Letters to Santa
I would like a 2006 Mustang GT, please. And my college loans paid off. Realistically, I want a new CD player for my car. The one I have now is a Korean-made piece of junk and the company went out of business a couple years ago...one of my favorite CDs is stuck in there and it randomly switches between radio and CD player when it feels like it. I'm looking at a $200 Alpine as an x-mas gift.

Weird/stupid/bad gifts you've given
Socks and underwear. And my '90 Lumina's driver side all smashed up the day after Christmas, 2001. Ho, ho, ho Mr. Incompetent Trucking Company...looks like we got the last laugh ($3000 settlement for hit and run).

Chrysler Imperial
Model only. DCX doesn't need a division encroaching into Mercedes-Benz's space.

Do you have Two plates on your car?
Iowa requires two plates, so it would screw up the look of the Solstice's front end if I got one. Although, my dad's front plate holder never got put back on his Delta 88 after it was repainted, so now he just rests the plate in the windshield...kinda tacky, but it works.

Holiday music
Thanks Stace...I might have to drop a couple hints to my parents as a gift idea. :) Does that album have the song on it that was used for the Christmas lights display video posted here not too long ago?

MetallicA Christmas Album!
Oh wait, this is going to be an actual Christmas album? I thought this was referring to the album of new material that is supposed to be released sometime early next year. I didn't know they were doing a Christmas one as well.

MetallicA Christmas Album!
I might get it...I read the January Guitar World where they interviewed Kirk and he said they'll have solos in it again--thank god. Although, the hype was that St. Anger would sound like Kill 'Em All and Ride the Lightning...instead it sounded like a poorly produced nu-metal album made with garbage cans for drums. I'm still a Metallica fan, and they're still by #1 band (saw 'em live in August 2004), but if this new album sounds like crap, I won't buy it. There's simply other albums that I'd rather buy if it doesn't sound like classic Metallica. I own every Metallica album except for St. Anger, and I don't plan on buying it anytime soon. Edit: I read your first sentence wrong.

360 Degrees LED Television
That's pretty neat. It kinda reminds me of the movie 'Minority Report' where they had advertising screens on curving walls and the ceilings of tunnels.

Apparently someone is selling Chery already...
Ooooh, I like the sound of that! Standard air conditioning? Oh boy! Look at that zany angle they made in the dash...So daring! I will be the coolest kid in the whole school if I get one of these. Look at that lil' bugger smile!

Good Kills?
I drag raced a friend late one night on an empty four-lane avenue. He had an '88 Grand Prix SE with the 2.8 and I had my '90 Lumina with the 3.1. Needless to say, I won that one.

Article: '2006 Camaro Concept'
Nice stereotypes. I don't think I've ever met a "dorky" Mustang driver before...just like I've never met a "mullet head" Camaro driver before. For the record, I love the new Camaro...but by the time Chevy actually comes out with it, the Mustang will probably be gearing up for another redesign.

What Era of Automobiles is your Favorite?
While I really should have chosen the 60s, I chose the 80s. Even though the 80s is considered to be the lowpoint for car design, there's something about certain cars from that era that really catches my eye. The space-age Trans Am and Corvette that came out in the early 80s, the angular Fox body Mustangs, the notchback Cutlass Surpeme and Monte Carlo personal coupes with the opera windows, and the B-body Caprice Classic with its tapering trunk and six square taillights. There were certainly some crap boxes from that era, but it was also the era before the big switch to the FWD disposable tupperware of the early 90s. I'd rank the 90s as my least favorite decade...jellybean styling, aero headlights that yellowed easily, plastic body-colored grilles that looked like something from K-mart, and just a general boring quality about cars. There were some like the Aurora, Thunderbird, and Impala SS that really stood out, but for every one of those there were 10 times as many Cirruses, oval Tauruses, Caravans, and Cavaliers littering the roads.

Toyota's Onslaught
It seems like we can't go a week anymore without some Ghengis Kahn piece about Toyota. Either just let it happen or GM needs start putting out some class-leading products...anything to shut up fools like Jerry Flint. How many times is it possible to beat a dead horse before there's nothing left to beat?

Fleet Sales for the first 6 months of 2005
Very thorough site with breakdown percentages my manufacturer. Link On the very first link on the page, they show you fleet percentages for certain cars. Here are some surprising ones. Chrysler Sebring - 72.4% fleet! Dodge Stratus - 72.2% fleet Chevy Impala - 62% fleet Kia Amanti - 64.7% fleet Pontiac Grand Prix - 52.2% fleet Here's a breakdown by manufacturer of some of the largest fleeted cars. GM was easily the worst...the Impala and Malibu percentages are disappointing. They didn't have any Cobalt figures. Ford had high percentages on the obvious ones like the Crown Vic and Taurus, but they're doing a good job keeping the new cars out of fleets. DCX has high fleet sales even for the 'hot' items like the 300 and Magnum. Toyota is fairly low and Nissan is moderate. I didn't bother typing out trucks but there is a link at the site. GM Chevy Aveo - 27% fleet Pontiac Sunfire - 37% fleet Pontiac Vibe - 26.6% fleet Chevrolet Malibu Classic - 99% fleet (obviously) Chevrolet Malibu - 47.9% fleet Pontiac G6 - 17% fleet Pontiac Grand Am - 71.5% fleet Chevrolet Monte Carlo - 36.1% fleet Pontiac Grand Prix - 52.2% fleet Buick LeSabre - 38.7% fleet Chevrolet Impala - 62.1% fleet Cadillac DeVille - 32.7% fleet Ford Ford Focus - 30.5% fleet Mazda 6 - 27.6% fleet Ford Taurus - 76% fleet Mercury Montego - 4.2% fleet...kudos to Ford for keeping this one so low Mercury Sable - 51.2% fleet Ford Crown Victoria - 79.6% fleet Ford Five Hundred - 10.6% fleet...good numbers again Mercury Grand Marquis - 32% fleet Lincoln LS - 25.6% fleet Volvo S60 - 23.3% fleet Lincoln Town Car - 41.4% fleet Jaguar XK8 - 20.7% fleet Ford Mustang - 10.6% fleet Ford Thunderbird - 10.6% fleet DaimlerChrysler Dodge Neon - 62.2% fleet Chrysler Sebring - 72.4% fleet Dodge Stratus - 72.3% fleet Dodge Magnum - 31.7% fleet Chrysler 300 - 21.1% fleet Toyota Toyota Echo - 22.5% fleet Toyota Avalon - 12.4% fleet Toyota Camry - 14% fleet Toyota Solara - 11.4% fleet Toyota Celica - 18% fleet Honda's fleet sales were all pretty low percentages, so I didn't bother typing them out Nissan Nissan Sentra - 22.9% fleet Nissan Altima - 12.2% fleet Nissan Maxima - 18.7% fleet Infiniti G35 - 8.8% fleet Infinti Q45 - 22.7% fleet
