My environmental studies class
Don't worry, I dropped it. That's exactly the reason I got out of it.

My environmental studies class
I signed up for an environmental class that dealt with environmental planning and stuff along those lines. I originally took it because it actually sounded kind of interesting and I was genuinely interested in the subject, but I dropped it like a yesterday's news, mostly because I realized I was taking too many credits (18) along with having an independent project and going to work about 15 hours a week. Just too much stuff to juggle. There were some real strong opinions in that class...polar opposite too. On one hand, you had the conservative ag/forestry/civil engineering kids and on the other you had the liberal political science/environmental studies/design kids. I've made enough rants by now that everyone here probably knows I don't buy into the global warming hysteria and like to look at things from a logical, scientific, and historical perspective. Well, I quickly found out that this was not my class. Our professor asked the class what they thought of global warming and its "implications on humanity." One of the ag kids sitting up in the second row raised his hand and calmly said that there are many beliefs as to why the earth is warming, such as increased solar activity or a systematic cycle in our climate. Instead, she ignored him and went off on a tangent about the kinds of catastrophes we could see and how we need to lower our carbon footprints, etc. I saw the kid look at his buddy and just kinda laugh under his breath because she completely brushed him off. I've had political science professors before who do very well hiding their bias and looking at conflicting viewpoints from students, but she just blew off anyone that wasn't in her mindset (which about 2/3 of the class was). Why take a class where you're not going to be challenged to question all possibilities? If I wanted to hear doomsday lecturing and one-sided views twice a week, I could just go to ENS.com instead. Now don't get me wrong, she's a nice person...but it really got on my nerves how she completely blew off genuine answers that could have spawned some good discussion.

2008 LaCrosse/Allure in Oshawa
When I first saw the last couple pics I thought it was a ton of chrome they had put on the doors, but luckily it's just protective paper stuff. Man, that would look tacky with that much chrome.

CONCEPT: Ford Verve
That's very contemporary European looking and nice...I hope Ford follows through and only tones down the grille slightly. It looks like something you would see in the driveway of an architecture magazine with some modernistic home in the background. Nice job on placement of the "model"....there are guys that will stop and look at those pics just for that. :AH-HA_wink:

MADE IN CHINA, if that's what you want
I had to write a one-page commentary on a current event topic for my world cities & globalization class, so I chose the Chinese product recalls.

Name an ethnic cuisine you tend to crave A LOT.
Mexican, Greek, Thai, and Chinese are the ones I like...I've had Japanese before but wasn't really a fan. A buddy of mine goes to an Ethiopian restaurant in Des Moines...I might have to try it out sometime. Authentic Italian food is great too, probably my favorite. There's a little restaurant near 6th and Mulberry called the Trattoria...it's pretty much like being back in Italy.

What Are You Listening To?
I bought Winger IV...after about four listens I'm really beginning to like it. The first time I listened to it I was regretting the purchase and thinking I should've just waited to buy a used copy, but after each one I began to like it more and more. The sound is a lot different (much heavier than old Winger), but the lyrics really grab you. Overall: 4/5

Pet peeves that people do while driving
People that come up like a bat out of behind you and after they pass they suddenly realize how fast they are going and slow down below your speeds Trucks that try to pass each other and can't do it, so you wait and wait only to have the guy give up and go back behind the truck he tried to pass Fully-loaded trucks that vary speeds between 65-80 mph; going uphill, they putz at 65, then going downhill they're flying by you at 80 "Tag-alongs"...the ones that purposely speed up and tag behind you when you're speeding

My Rome Pics II
Nice, I've been in all those places pictured. Looks like you were up on that big hill overlooking Piazza del Popolo...I never made it up that far, but I did climb a few hills on the western side of the city. I met up with a girl I hadn't seen since freshmen year at that obelisk in the center...great memories. Also, on that Spanish Steps picture...when I was there they were still putting the scaffolding up over that church...looks like they now have the printed image of the church over top like they do at other construction sites. It's pretty neat they do that; much better than looking at scaffolding.

Feedback wanted on "My Cars" Facebook application
I've heard about this but I haven't added it yet, although I'm thinking about it (I like to keep my profile clean instead of the ones that load them up with apps, so I only add the ones I really like). What is the "classic cars" feature exactly? I was under the impression that you just add pictures of your rides. Some to think about adding: 1987 Grand National GNX 1974 Trans Am SD455 1970-74 Pantera DeTomaso 1967 Corvette Sting Ray 1965 Buick Riviera Wildcat 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 1969 Mercury Cyclone GT 1993 Mustang Cobra R 1969 Oldsmobile 442 1961 Lincoln Continental There's a lot personally I would add between the 60s and 80s but I don't know how large you guys are going.

WAWA Gasoline News
We still have a couple Sinclairs around here, but they're few and far between. You can find more of them in the Chicago area I think.Never heard of Wawa, but I've only been out east a couple times in my life. We have a regional gas station here called Kum & Go, aka "ejaculate & evacuate." It's the butt of a lot of jokes. They've spread like wildfire around here...you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one.

2008 Infiniti EX35
I really like that interior a lot. First thing I thought of was my dad's '78 Anniversary Corvette with the white leather interior, and how everything wraps around you. Man, I love white leather interiors. The exterior is ok, but nothing that really excites me that much.

MUTT LANGE APPRECIATION THREAD !!!!!!
I always thought Appetite sounded pretty underproduced, which wasn't a bad thing necessarily because it stood out at the time. The guy who produced it was Mike Clink, who also did Megadeth's Rust in Peace album...and you can tell it was him because earlier albums had that big drum sound and then his was a lot flatter.I'm glad Metallica dumped Bob Rock for Rick Rubin...Bob was good early on with the Black Album, Blue Murder, and Dr. Feelgood, but St. Anger was just awful. It'd be cool if they went back to Flemming Rasmussen. Thanks BV, I like it too. I'd buy GT4 if they ever put it out for PC, which doesn't seem like it's gonna happen.

Real-World Lexus IS-F Pictures
I like the front, but the rear is so tall and flat that it looks like it got smashed in by a truck. I'd rather have a C63 AMG.

MUTT LANGE APPRECIATION THREAD !!!!!!
I'm listening to White Sister's '86 album Fashion By Passion...talk about some serious sploosh action on "April." Sounds like a Mutt song.Drum machines never get old.
