Anyone here never used a manual transmission?
Driven hundreds of 4/5/6 on the floor. Only driven a few "3-on-the-tree" vehicles. Yes. I agree100% That's how it is in Slovakia. Parking / starting on steep hill is also mandatory.

Cars are like drugs or sex...
Another recent score at a yardsale this past week end: So that means I now have four 1:64 HW Duesenbergs.

Cars are like drugs or sex...
Speaking of Duesenberg I got a few cool Doozy "toys" recently. First, a few weeks back I bought a box full of 1:24 model cars. All of them were 40+ years old and all were molested, broken, banged up & covered with decades of dust & some even missing major components/pieces. The diamond in the rough was an 80% complete Duesenberg SJ dual cowl phaeton that was very damaged & had several pieces broken beyond repair. Here it is after I made some missing pieces from scratch, found a few other pieces in my 1:24 model kit junk boxes & then reassembled the whole thing to once again look like a proud & elegant Duesenberg DCP.

The Best Engine Noise
Speaking of Chevrolet Big Blocks one of my favorite cars in the world ever is the 427 powered 1969 COPO Camaro and by extension the ZL1 & Yenko Camaro YSC. Every 1969 Camaro is magical, but stuffing a BBC between the fenders makes them damn near exotic. The 2+2 layout makes them the 1960s equivalent of the BMW M3.

How to Double a Mini Cooper's Price
Wow... $40k for a Scion tC FTW. Does it come with TWO floor mats under the gas pedal for super-extra-awesome sudden acceleration!?

The coolest marque not sold here
Closest people like us would get to shopping for a 1950s Oldsmobile or 1960s Pontiac back when the CUSTOMER dictated options instead of getting options rammed down their throat.

Saab 9-5 Crash tested into itself
Still ugly and still not profitable. Sorry SAAB.

How to Double a Mini Cooper's Price
Any person paying over $40k for a Mini Cooper needs to have their head examined. I'd much rather have a Cadillac CTS or an Mercedes Benz C350 for $40k+

The Best Engine Noise
Soon as I saw the title of this thread I thought of two things immediatelly: 1. The F4U Corsair powered by the Air Cooled, Supercharged 18 cylinder (Radial PW) R2800 motor 2. The Legendary, Infamous Messerschmitt Bf.109 & its 600-series Daimler Benz Supercharged, inverted V12 ------ The Imperialist Japanese pilots' nickname for the F4U was "Whistling Death": very telling of how feared it was. Almost a decade before the P-51D Mustang saw combat the German War machine developed a fighter plane that became the mother of ALL modern mono-wing, liquid cooled fighters: the sleek, form-follows function Messerschmitt Bf109. The ultimate evolution, still very close in airframe to the original 1935 prototype, was powered by a Supercharged, inverted V12 built by Daimler Benz and in a war where planes went from state of the art to obsolete in a manner of a couple of years the Bf109's carreer begain in the Spanish Civil War in 1937 and it fought until the very last day of the European conflict 8 years later. As a naive kid I was conditioned to think the Spitfire & Mustang were the the $h!, now having read up on & watched dozens of documentaries on WWII/Military Aviation for years I've come to love the Bf109. It's so unique and yet immitated more than almost any other aircraft ever made. The license built, Italian Fiat G55, Reggiane Re2005 & Macchi Mc205, as well as the elegant Japanse Kawasaki Ki-61 were litteraly just immitations of the Bf109, powered by a license built DB601/603/605 motor. Here's a good clip of a genuine (very rare!) Bf109: No buzzsaw Ferrari motor or fart-can Honda Ricer can even come close to either. Certain Muscle Cars come close in a Mini-Me kind of way. Also, the SR-71's JT11 turbojets are quite impressive too.... but they're in a category all of their own and have nothing in common with piston powered motors.

Pontiac Tribute Day 6/1
I loved my 1964 Olds Super 88, the quality of the interior & matterials used made that car seem like if it was built today it would cost a hlaf million dollars.

I love this song, wife hates it. "Home" by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros

Camaro pic
I prefer the standard noses on early 1970-73 Camaros. The split bumper always looked awkward to me.

Road-Plane-Road trip
Nice to see GM 2nd attempt at cylinder deactivation has turned out successful. I've had good experiences with all the ones I drove. The 1980s Cadillac 8-6-4 was er.... troublesome.

Drove 700mi round trip to buy $800 car
Good luck with it. I'm not much of a Saturn fan but they do have a loyal fan base. When I read the title of the thread I was picturing some 1980s G-body coupe.

Pontiac Tribute Day 6/1
Yes I'm pissed about Pontiac's death & the Camaro's ugly B-pillar but I would love to own a Camaro or even a used G8.

Has this been posted yet...? http://ehowa.com/features/camarosplitintwo.shtml (no B-pillars were harmed in the makin' of this thread)

There's a lot of 3rd gen. Camaros out there with exotic motor swaps. Here in Mass there's some guy about my age who has a mid-1980s black coupe with a insane twin turbo setup on an LT1. He's an urban legend of sorts, the car is amazing. Back in the late 1990s I bought a DuPont Registry that had an ad for a wildly re-worked Camaro... IIRC it was a 1990 m.y. the claim was that it was some insane SBC with forced induction churning out a 1000 HP & capable of 240 mph.

Deal of the night !!!
WOW, I'd pay $3700 for that gorgeous A-body all day long. Even with a blown motor. The green metallic, white interior, hardtop body style with those sexy hips on the rear 1/4s, this cars really is gorgeous!!!!
