Happy Birthday ichbinjohnk & Paolino
Happy Birthday, guys! Just one day after mine.

Chris you were right
A mid-engined Vette would probably look pretty goofy compared to its predecessors anyway.

Maybach 62 Landaulet
I've envisioned this concept quite a few years ago while looking at a Lincoln Town Car with one of those goofy looking vinyl landaulet covers. Except, my version didn't have a C-pillar.

Isn't it time all countries drove on the right side of the road?
I think the most important change to make would be for the Department of Transportation to do as the food industry has already done. SPEED LIMIT 55 mph 89 km/h Philedelphia 29mi / 46.5 km New York 168mi / 270 km From there, people will slowly but surely become subconsciously aware of the relation between the two. The weather stations should take a different approach and flat-out discard Fahrenheit. Just one morning, start reporting everything in Celsius. People will figure it out after a while.

Cheers and Jeers for 2007
I haven't been around much lately, so I have a couple of personal ones to add. Cheers to my discovery of Ubuntu Linux in July. It's good to know that there is an alternative and free operating system to Windows, for when I'd rather not bow to Microsoft overlords. Jeers to my mild brush with the C&G Curse. At one point, while my wife was unloading my son from the car, a strong gust of wind blew the driver's door open all the way and put a 3" indent on the very edge of it. It can probably be hammered out, but still... Cheers to my influx of handy gadgets for 2007. A new laptop, a new desktop, a camcorder, and a Wii. I love gadgets, what can I say? Jeers to my former health insurance company. "Oh, you moved to UPSTATE New York? Sorry, we won't cover you there." Jerks. Here's hoping I won't require medical services while I look for an affordable plan... Cheers to living with my in-laws for a full year without going on a killing spree. Maybe I can find / afford my own place in 2008. Jeers to the February car accident that took the lives of both of my cousin's children. Also, she suffered a second car accident a few days ago. She was hit from behind, and though only mildly injured she was left in hysterics. Her husband had to explain to the cop why she was crying over a fender bender. And, last but certainly not least, Cheers to the birth of my first child in October. He just turned 3 months. I'll have to post pics sometime, but I don't have a whole lot on me at the moment.

2009 Dodge Ram
Ram sales only became competitive when they updated the truck with the big mean grille. That's not to say that the appearance is what put it ahead of the Camry for a while, but I'm sure it helped. What I'm trying to say (now that I've already submitted the post) is that this update is anything but big and mean. It's actually rather conservative.

In Case You Were Wondering...
Both of these look better than the xB... Though admittedly not by much.

SFAS: 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Turbo
I like the diamond-mesh grille (only a Cobalt owner would notice that this even changed). I also like that it doesn't have a giant wing.

NEW 2009 CTS-V!!!!
Yeah, there's barely any Cadillac left in that front end.

The Best Camaro Picture so Far
Looks good so far. I honestly keep forgetting that the Camaro concept is not the production model.

It's official Fly: Toyota wants to kill your car
I caught that ad, too. The only thing nice I can say about it is Toyota has gone ahead and slightly increased the value of the 1st gen Aurora.

The Animated Gif Thread
The female is apparently no longer in the mood at this point.

Chevy Volt National Tour - ATTN: Boston C&Gers!
The Solstice is a great example of just how little watering down GM is capable of when moving a concept to production. They replaced a lot of parts with bits from the parts bin, but the final car looks almost the same, if not better, than the concept. But oh yes, the Volt is going to have a lot of changes. I'd like to see it keep those wacky windows, though.

The end of the "black-tie era" is near
Now that I think about it, the only reason you would replace the head unit is if A: It breaks, or B: A new format becomes the mainstream and you're stuck with the old CD/AUX combo. In regards to A: If the broken parts can be replaced without ruining the dashboard, fine. Else, it's another reason to pay a mechanic. In regards to B: As soon as the integrated systems start to include a fully-functional add-on port that is NOT strictly for iPods, I will fully accept them. Otherwise, I agree with Dsuupr.

The end of the "black-tie era" is near
It was named as such because it's designed to look good in any interior, just like a black tie looks good in any environment. It was purposely designed to span all models until they could develop the coming integrated designs. This, apparently, was the plan all along.

The end of the "black-tie era" is near
It's a good looking head unit, but since integrated is the wave of the future , GM better adopt it so the critics have one less thing to pick at.

STRIKE OVER!
So the union will now fund a chunk of the pension? That's good. It's a bit more like every other job in America now...

UAW sets strike deadline for Monday morning
If this leads to GM's downfall, I hope that at least Ford and Chrysler thrive from the collapse of the UAW.

2008 Cadillac BLS Estate
By the way... The interior is attractive; I have nothing against it. However, it's no 2008 CTS.
-
FRANKFURT: 2008 SAAB 9-3 Turbo X
Hmm, I'd buy it, if I could afford it. Until the CTS goes AWD, that is.
-
FRANKFURT: 2008 Opel/Vauxhall Agila
The overall look is attractive and exciting. This is unlike the Aveo5, which is not so attractive and uses the same late-90s style door sweep as its predecessor.

C&G Routine
Home page, then View New Posts. Also, my read-only:post ratio is much in favor of read-only. I post on certain threads if I think I have something interesting to say.

2008 Cadillac BLS Estate
"First station wagon in Cadillac’s history" A. This must exclude the ambulettes and hearses, as vonVeezelsnider said. It also must exclude the SRX, which is basically a tall station wagon anyway. B. That's not something to be proud about.

Politicians are at it again...
Not to mention, there will almost certainly be a greater ROI by building / maintaining the local hospitals and highways. The Iraqi hospitals will probably get bombed to bits before they break even.
