Industry News: President Obama Proposes A $4.7 Billion Dollar Plan For Alternative-Fuel Vehicles
i would vote against this $4.7billion dollar tax. people aren't always stupid, the ones that are[stupid], i don't want to be giving my taxes to to pay for those decisions.

Industry News: Amidst Falling Sales, Republicans Turn Chevrolet Volt Into Political Scapegoat
and weren't SUV's and big trucks the "political punching bags" of a few years ago? or how about C4C...? if you don't want them to be "punching bags".....build toyota's.

Review: 2012 Chevrolet Cruze LTZ
40 mile round trips isn't a good basis for highway mileage.... 20 miles each way and using all that power to get up to 70, 2x.... if you did the trip at 55 or 60, it might average out a lot better.

Chevrolet News:SPIED: Chevy's smallest EV drops its CAMO!
Blech...can't imagine paying 30s for a 4cyl FWD appliance.. and our parents probably didn't imagine paying over 10K for any car that wasn't a "super car" or top of the line lux, like for a cadi. http://www.inthe70s.com/prices.shtml at most the average car was 1/2 the average wage and the average house was < 8 years of wages. anyone born before the 70's has seen lots of inflation. don't be so surprised if cars are still made in our life time that the basic price will be $50K+(unless financial meltdown occurs, which would be worldwide)

Industry News: Department of Transportation Proposes Their Distracted Driving Guidlines For Automakers
instead of making more minutiae o flaws, just tell states to make their driving test harder... and set those guide lines. ugh.

Industry News: President Obama’s Proposed Budget Includes An Increase In The Tax Credit For Plug-Ins
i agree Dwight. more reason why we won't end these deficits anytime soon unless the mentality of our elected changes...(probably requires a wide sweeping out of ~90% of them already there)

Industry News: Michigan gains higher speed rail service
why do you think rail will be any different than interstate planning? look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_66_%28west%29 as an example..... planning takes *forever*

Industry News: Michigan gains higher speed rail service
67impss... where does it say they're making money? just cause revenues are up doesn't mean they are out of the red.

Industry News: Gas prices to hit $4 mark this Spring
olds, he runs the "free world"... obviously he can set the prices. though he did say he wanted gas $5 and above, right?
-
Industry News: Former President Bush Stands By His Decision On Auto Bailoutss
the status quo..keeping it going, keeps civil unrest down, no matter how ludicrous it is.
-
Industry News: Gas prices to hit $4 mark this Spring
we have an economy/nation built on debt...selling to ourselves will only propagate this debt, once prices rocket, our remaining wealth that has been made will leave quickly, and what we have left will only be what we haven't taken from the land yet, or that can't leave/move in an efficient manner. i see another +10% increase in commodity prices coming.

Industry News: House Panel Approves Bill Blocking E15
the first part of it sounds like it's barring unconstitutional laws, because they come from the EPA and not the congress..... until further studies are done. Dfelt. - "was passed by a 19-7 vote as members voted along party lines." sounds like "both parties" have interests on their respective sides what's keeping us dependent on oil from "outside" is that we don't have the infrastructure and development to use what we have here because of other laws, not because of this law or other laws dealing with "biofuels".

Chevrolet News:Chevy pulls the wraps off of Cruze wagon ahead of Geneva

Industry News: New Bill To Offer A Billion Dollar Prize To 100 MPG Vehicle
yes, subjectively it's not going to happen, but objectively it already has. the law just needs to change to allow currency competition. so which is fantasy and which is reality? the law, or the price of gas vs other commodities.

Fiat News: Sergio Marchionne Says Fiat 500 Sales Target Was “Incredibly Naive”
i've only seen 1 in my area.

Industry News: New Bill To Offer A Billion Dollar Prize To 100 MPG Vehicle
moltar, prices would reach that level again if the inflation of the last ~100 years was undone. a gallon of "gas" in the 1920's is the "same" as now(while being refined more) ...*include rant about commodity prices and our dollar doesn't function as a true commodity* even with taxes, gas is basically a silver dime per gallon. how's that for cheap?
-
Industry News: New Bill To Offer A Billion Dollar Prize To 100 MPG Vehicle
Moltar, why does that seem unrealistic, gas was just $1 ~10 years ago. so, does the reality of 10 years ago, seem unrealistic? heck, gas used to be as cheap as $0.20. http://www1.eere.energy.gov/vehiclesandfuels/facts/2005/fcvt_fotw364.html

Industry News: New Bill To Offer A Billion Dollar Prize To 100 MPG Vehicle
more incentives to cater to a small portion of the population....and somewhere manufacturers would have to divert resources to vie for for this 1 billion. while it's a lofty goal, it's just an opposite tactic of things like CAFE, instead of punishing, it's rewarding. but it's still a whip on manufactures that want to play that game.

Industry News: U.S. Treasury Increases Losses On Chrysler, GM Bailouts

GM design chief confirms Holden is working on Buick, as well as Chevrolet projects
would it really be all that different than losing pontiac or olds...? i know it's a brand with big history and possibly a huge future, but those that work there could still work for GM, and the IP that they hold won't go anywhere. even if the brand disolved, aussies could still have a design place down there if GM thought it needed one....and could afford it.

Industry News: US Automakers Oppose Free Trade Agreement with Japan
remember.. japan's debt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_public_debt %gdp per CIA and eurostat 197.5 2010 est. same but by IMF in 2010 220.00% they are obviously doing something wrong.

Industry News: US Automakers Oppose Free Trade Agreement with Japan
i would thinhk if they agreed to TPP, it would have to open barriers both ways... http://www.economist.com/blogs/banyan/2011/11/free-trade-agreements sounds like everyone wants japan in the talks, but will be afraid that progress will upset the well connected back in japan and will cause their negotiator to have to leave.
