  1. Are we still talking about Kappa II? If it comes, it won't be before '11 or '12.
  2. I just want to post in order to show off my nifty sig that Ted helped me with.
  3. That would be interesting to see. I would imagine that Zeta is not that flexible though.
  4. Ted, you are the awesomest dude, ever!
  5. Need I say more?
  6. The press release said Delta -and perhaps there was some wishful thinking there, dunno - but the concept was actually a heavily cobbled up J-car. In the end, creating Kappa from a Y car inspired, hydroformed rail structure and off the shelf parts was the fastest way to create this car. Any flexibility on it, simply does not exist though. You can argue that a more flexible architecture might have been smarter in the long run....but know this: it would have cost WAAAAY more, and we'd probably still be waiting for it's realease.
  7. "Kappa II" is nothing but a proposal now - and barely that. Those that are pushing for it, wanted it based off the current Kappa.....but the engineering simply does not exist to support such a proposal. It will be many months, at the earliest, before anyone even figures out what a "Kappa II" would even consist of. This is anything but a firmed up program yet.
  8. Well, what can I tell ya, Camino. Lutz wants a GTO, as do all of us. Will he get it ? That's a tough one. Sure will be alot of product overlap in that niche soon. Lutz also wanted the Torana (and it's platform), as we all did....sadly, economic realities got in the way though. He also wants the Ute to come here as an El Camino...but has already publicly stated that we won't be getting that. I think he also is on record as saying that he wanted the Bel Air concept to see production. Bob Lutz is a car guy - like us. He'd like to see alot of cars see production - as would we. And maybe down the road, Pontiac will get a Zeta or two. But right now...at this very moment.....there is nothing in the plan.
  9. Hudson is right. Things may change in the future (or not), but nothing yet.
  10. And that's my point....those cars don't even appear in the planning process yet.
  11. Interesting stuff Hudson. Impala, Camaro, DTS and Lucerne add up to pretty close to 500,000 annual units.
  12. Very interesting stuff....and about time.

If the 3V isn't completely dead....it is waaay on the back burner. And that pdf file is pretty old too.
  14. http://www.autodeadline.com/detail?source=...645849&mime=JPG Anyone that's abit more tech savvy than me want put the above picture next to the production picture? I'm very disappointed.
  15. Yeah, I don't know. I remember getting some email from Holden and calculating they were 17 hours ahead.
  16. They are 17 hours ahead. So it's 6:18 AM, tomorrow morning, in Australia.
  17. "Ram Air", K&N and cat-back exhaust. Essentially, they hotrodded it.
  18. Is that a coupe?
  19. Anyone have any idea regarding the limitations of this system's flexibility? I mean exactly how many different architectures can be assembled simultaneously on the same line?
  20. Fascinating......
  21. I wonder ultimately, just how different .......those vehicles can be on the same Tru-Flex line? Does anyone envision different architectures going down the same line at the same time?
  22. Not only was 361 getting too expensive. It was growing (in physical size that is). It was probably getting closer to the 900's in size.
  23. Well whatever it's called - the 'Monaro replacement' (note that I didn't call it Monaro), has a very strong likelyhood of being a version of the Camaro. And really, I think that's a pretty good idea.
  24. And may not even be called Monaro......
