  1. All things are possible? How about a smaller, lighter Camaro, sooner rather than later? Cues based on the Sixteen and late '60's Eldo (my personal fav), would be great. But what happens to the EP2 XTS nearing completion?
  2. Cop cars are one thing, but do you think it's still possible Cadillac does a Zeta?
  3. I don't know if we'll see alot of power increases in the near future, but my impressions are that meeting CAFE will not be the bear we think it will be. The emphasis now will be on weight loss. So in effect, we may get cars with better power to weight, even if hp stays the same or drops slightly. I find that pretty exciting actually.
  4. At this point, I have no clue of what it's styling direction might be. An evolution on the current car's styling, but in a tidier package, would be interesting.
  5. The 6th gen will be smaller and lighter for sure. But it's not a foregone conclusion that it won't have a V8. In fact, it's not even a foregone conclusion that it won't have a 6.2L V8.
  6. How do you define "true to itself"?
  7. The 6th gen is already in the works......
  8. But look at the size of the average car in 1967 or 1970 or 1982 and compare a contemporary Camaro to that, and you'll see just how relatively compact it traditionally was.

I've been told the Cruze concept we've already seen, is a good visual representation of a "Cruze SS".
  10. Agreed. The car does in fact have a strong design, it's biggest strength, I believe. I also agree that Zeta was far from an ideal starting point for the Camaro. But keeping in mind the pretty dysfunctional position GM has been in, I guess that they couldn't do any better. That's why my hat's off to the Camaro Team - considering their constraints what they had to work with. It's analogous to trying to create a Camaro off of the old B-Body Caprice.
  11. Well, you can say I've described the Corvette, the 3-series, ...... or even (gasp) the Mustang. Although I don't think the current Mustang is small, but it is quite abit more nimble than the Camaro.
  12. How do you figure that? The whole formula of the Camaro and the original pony cars was a small nimble package.
  13. I can agree with that. The CTS-V's steering wheel, is pretty darned nice, especially with the optional suede. But beyond that, the beautiful steering wheel controls some really great steering feel. Two things which the Camaro lacks. The CTS-V's interior in general is pretty awesome though.
  14. If you're referring to me, the price is not even a factor. In fact, I'd be willing to pay MORE if the car met my expectations. Don't get me wrong, I think the Camaro is a good car, and the Camaro Team did a GREAT job, considering what they had to start with. But it just doesn't give me goosebumps or get my heart racing when I drive it.
  15. Actually, what I wanted was a smaller, lighter package. One where I feel connected to a car which is an absolute joy to drive. A more mechanically direct car with great steering feedback and a nimble chassis. A less bizzare interior would also have been appreciated.
  16. I don't care much for the Camaro's interior either. Bumper car steering wheel, weird center stack, odd shaped shifter ball, stupid and worthless console guages.
  17. Seems like an old video.
  18. At a local cruise night, I was checking out a Lotus 7 with an LSx in it. I started talking to the owner and asked him if it was an LS1. He said, no, that's the LS3 crate motor with 480 hp. Wow, I said, I can't imagine this thing weighs more than 2400 pounds. He said, more like 1800 pounds, and for a moment I was speechless (hard to imagine, I know). And then he uttered the quote of the week: " When you step on it, you'd better be paying attention". I'll say.
  19. As far as a V8 goes, it may be too soon to tell. I believe it is being package protected for a smallblock. In the end though, if Mustang packs a V8, the pressure for Camaro to have one also will be overwhelming.
  20. Great analogy.
  21. That wasn't the case with Alpha initially, but it seems that's what it's evolved into.
  22. I welcome that...
  23. 6th gen is already in the works....
  24. Actually, Mustang's crash ratings are better than Camaro's.
  25. I wouldn't hold my breath on Camaro getting a new interior.
