Interesting...
Are you saying that the Buick should be more expensive that the Cadillac?

Interesting...
Any reason for the order of that rollout? Actually, I wish it could be reversed.

Opel to spin off, GM will retain stake
So after your retirement, rejoin GME doing that. Perhaps you could use me as a consultant, since I'm an American but also considered a citizen of the EU, am familiar with the auto industry and am a fan of both Chevy and Cadillac. And yes, I know Europeans - like 75% of my family and my in-law's family. Something to consider....

A few shots from the race shop
What a cool shop, filled with cool cars. I've always loved those old Healey's.

Opel to spin off, GM will retain stake
Vauxhall isn't going anywhere - in fact there are reports that the UK government might like to work with GM to create a larger European presence for Vauxhall in a possible post-Opel world.

Opel to spin off, GM will retain stake
Anyway, there is a part of me that sees VERY interesting possibilities here ----- for Chevy and Cadillac. That is, once the restructuring is all said and done. Opel is on a very slippery slope. The German government will need to be very generous with them, since I don't see them becoming a "European" success story any time soon.

Who will own the rights to things like Epsilon or Delta?

GM Fights to Keep Opel Division as Politicians Pursue Spinoff
I agree. At least a czar would have been a "go to" guy. Now we're just getting a panel where no one makes decisions.

GM Fights to Keep Opel Division as Politicians Pursue Spinoff
Frankly, I think Obama is simply winging now. After passing 1 trillion in pork barrel spending last week, yesterday he says he wants to balance the budget. We'll see the details of his plan this week (I'm sure the Dow will drop another few hundred points again at that time), but it's been leaked that it consists of cutting military spending and raising income tax and corporate tax. Lord help us...........

GM Fights to Keep Opel Division as Politicians Pursue Spinoff
I'm certainly not optimistic about that.......

GM Fights to Keep Opel Division as Politicians Pursue Spinoff
I think some nationalists are using this crisis to pitch for a "German owned Opel" again. Whatever. Wasn't Opel on death's door afew years ago, and GMNA funded it's recovery? I think that present circumstances excluded, Opel NEEDS to be in GM, more than the other way around.

Motortrend: Camaro Z28 May Return
A 4100 pound Z/28? No thanks. Look at my avatar. This is believed to be Z/28 number one. The photo was taken almost exactly 42 years ago, when this car was about 1 month old. This here is the spirit of the Z/28. A lightweight, rip snorting, road racer, with a hot, free revving, high compression, normally aspirated smallblock. Note the Porsche behind it, struggling to keep up.

Rumor: GM to cut G8 production by 97%.
Oh, that's "our" Josh? Anyway, I think there was a planned shutdown of the Adelaide plant for 25 days in the 1st Q of '09.

Automotive News: GM to restructure European sales, marketing
There is a popular Greek expression, (which ironically is in Italian): " Una fatsa, una ratsa".

Automotive News: GM to restructure European sales, marketing
Actually, I'm Greek. Greeks seems to fit in perfectly with Italians and visa versa. My wife is Italian though. I've always liked the joke: "What do you call an Italian who marries a Greek? A social climber." I think it's hilarious - but my wife is not at all amused. I've always wanted an Alfa GTV6 or Giulia Super, but the maintanence required scares me away.

Automotive News: GM to restructure European sales, marketing
Well, although I think it's a looooooooooooooooooong shot, if the planets align perfectly, it might be one last chance for Chrysler. That, plus I'd like to see Alfa Romeo enter the US market again. I grew up on the northwest side of Chicago, in a very Italian neighborhood. Alfa's were as common as Malibus there.

Automotive News: GM to restructure European sales, marketing
I thought Fiat had the rights to use it ever since the Fiat-GM alliance. Anyway, Fiat will probably have access to Chrysler's LY/LX architecture now.
