Chevrolet News:C8 Corvette Delayed Until February 2020
Clearing out C7 inventory is more important than the 40 day strike. I suspect that the strike hurt other GM operations MORE than the resulting 90 day delay on the C8 Corvette.

Chrysler News: Fiat Chrysler Posts Record Earning for Q3 2019
Will anyone really miss FIAT and Alfa Romeo? Hell no to FIAT and not really to Alfa Romeo. Will anyone miss Chrysler and Dodge? That is unknown. Rebadging Peugeot as a Chrysler or Dodge might work IF they replace the 200/Avenger or the smaller cars. The 300/Charger/Challenger would be a much harder sell to convert (and should not be rebadged Peugeot cars anyway). Jeep and RAM will be fine and ultimately left alone since that is where the CASH FLOW really is.

Lord Vader, your car is ready.
I do remember an article from Car and Driver a few years back mentioning an all-black Cadillac CTS coupe as Vader's new car about five years ago. These days, I am not sure what would be suitable for a dark lord of the Sith.

Chrysler News: Fiat Chrysler Posts Record Earning for Q3 2019
Too bad those record profits are derived from little to no investment in product. Then again, with the merger with Peugeot, many brands will be shed. The correct question is which ones WILL survive.

Chrysler News: Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot Agree to Merge
THIS would have been a great Chrysler 200 and/or Dodge Avenger. Too bad the only midsize sedan buyers want are Camry Accord and maybe Altimas.

Chrysler News: Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot Agree to Merge
Once the merger is announced and then approved, I wonder how many names are sent to the slaughterhouse. I doubt GM has been this big in 25 years.

Chrysler News: FCA and PSA are in Merger Talks
Whack FIAT and Alfa Romeo first. Then merge with Peugeot. PSA will have to cut Opel down to size in order for the merger to actually work.

Buick News: Chinese Buick Enclave Previews U.S. Version
It is true that the larger crossovers (such as the Enclave) could use a significant remodel. But that leaves me with one question: How many Enclaves sell here in the USA vs. China?

Controversial! Manual Transmissions are Over-Rated
I have no opinion concerning manual transmissions. Then again, manuals are no longer as common as they were 30 or 40 years ago. There is a reason automatics have dominated for decades. I would offer another reason: few people WANT manual transmissions in their cars or CUVs or SUVs or pickup trucks. Also, today's automatics are so good that a manual has a difficult time competing against a well-tuned automatic. The large trend towards EVs will make manuals even more scarce than they already are. In 1940 there were virtually no vehicles with an automatic transmission. I suspect that by 2040 there will be no true manual transmission in new vehicles out for sale.

Buick News: Chinese Buick Enclave Previews U.S. Version
A smaller Enclave would be rather sad. Then again, without China, Buick is as dead as Oldsmobile.

Industry News: Sinkhole Swallows Bus in Downtown Pittsburgh
I though we down here in Florida were the only ones to suffer sinkholes. I honestly thought that western PA was a little more solid.

Probably not. Between energy efficiency and a sameness imposed on by engineers, I highly doubt it.

Tesla Model 3 11th Best Selling Vehicle In Europe
Too bad Tesla expects everyone to pay BMW 3 series pricing in order to get one. If EVs are to take over Europe, we need EVs that are the price of a VW Golf, not a Tesla model 3.

Hyundai News:Hyundai Develops Machine Learning Cruise Control
GM has not had 50% market share (in the USA) since 1980. You are correct in that V2V needs some real technical interoperability standards for it to work consistently.

Nissan News: Nissan Leaf Prototype Has AWD and 501 lb.-ft of Torque
If only Nissan would sell a Rouge-sized version of the Leaf, it would outsell any Tesla on the marketplace. Too bad Nissan is not run very well these days.

Son of a Niche! SUV Coupes
Coupe CUVs are still the worst auto trend in the last 50 years. Period. Get rid of them NOW.

On Tour - 2019 Buick Regal TourX
Selling Opel was the right thing to do, especially given the situation in the European market these days. In terms of the CAR itself, sure it would be better if there were decladded cars to sell since cladding usually looks bad on almost any car. As for GM overpricing, spot on. There needs to be a serious rethinking on GM's part when it comes to options. What GM should do is make the top of the line standard and make a couple option packages on each vehicle (that's it!).
