QFT. I will be impressed when we see BEVs reach price parity with a Chevy Trax. Why? Have the BEV be a replacement for our currently vast ICE-based used car market. The only thing BEVs cannot do is knock the ugly design out of some vehicles. Have you seen the new Silverados in person? WTF?

I have to admit, this microblock idea sounds great. Since this idea is easily a descendant of the smallblock and a spiritual successor to the great 3800/3900 pushrod engines, GM should do just that rather than all these DOHC engines derived from Opel designs. But I would do this microblock idea for one simple reason: torque. A lot of these DOHC engines tend to lack torque at 2000rpm (they need 3000+ rpm to actually get anywhere). Does somebody have a line to GM engineering to get them started on this amazing idea?

Communist economics were radically dialed back since 1978. The Communists in China still run the government. As for demand for EVs, no one knows how many will sell this year or next year or 10 years from now. Right now, yes it is less than 1%. Sounds like a lot of the rest of the world. Then again, oil prices are only about $55/barrel now. The GM EV1 failed because oil prices were $10/barrel back in the late 1990s. Call me when oil prices approach $200/barrel, then show me EV sales at that point.

If that is the top trim, that is really ordinary. I suspect that the Lincoln equivalent has a much nicer interior. Also, these days the Explorer is nowadays a police vehicle for the most part, hence the rental/fleet issues.

SAD. Especially since GM could probably replace the 8L90 with the 8L45 and solve the lawsuit that way. BTW, how do you know which 8AT is in the car/truck you are driving?

I have noticed that the 8AT on the CT6 had some issues, whereas I have heard no issues at all with the 10AT on the CT6-V with the Blackwing V8. A: Is this all true and B: Why is that?

Well, I would like to buy a RWD sedan, since I have had FWD sedans for just over 20 years now. I could either get a lightly used CT6 or a newer Chrysler 300 or pick up a Genesis G80/KIA K900. If I HAD TO GET a CUV, then a Cadillac XT5 will do nicely.

If modern unions are so bad, are the alternatives a lot better? Especially in certain industries (steel, automotive). . . . . Now, public sector unions I would argue have serious issues that need to be addressed. Now why do we have public sector unions again?

GM did make some colossal mistakes in the last 40 years. Not taking Japan or the Germans seriously enough was the biggest one. Saturn was created so that GM could actually learn a few things (and compete against Japan Inc.) without the ossified thinking that existed back in 1985. Now whether GM learned the proper lessons is a different question. Now if GM were really smart, Holden engineering would have been on US shores about 25 years ago and we would all still benefit to this day. As for Europe, GM needed to completely rethink Opel/Vauxhall and make them profitable for the last 15 years rather than waste money on Saab and (especially) FIAT.

And ending organized labor will fix those problems HOW?

Yes we should address nuclear waste. Reprocessing the waste to create more electricity would do wonders for that problem.

Get Cadillac to benchmark interiors so that Cadillac can improve them on the next MCE.

Starve a marque of new product and this is what you get. I must admit I miss Olds more than Holden. Then again, this has to be really sad for those down under.
