New Corsa Uncovered
Any idea on what the weight would be? It sounds like it would be a very fun car with the 180hp turbo engine.

I'm going to miss American cars...
Well I wont miss the cars mentioned in this thread like the 80-90s buicks(except Grand Nationals). But I do miss the real American cars like 60s impalas, chevelles, and 442s. I was driving back from the bay area in CA, following my brother in his 63 Impala. It was unreal how many people were waving to him, and gawking at his car, people of all ages. Someone stopped to talk to him about it at every gas station. I guess there is demand for bold American cars. The next Impala should do very well.

New Corsa Uncovered
Sounds good to me. Personally I would rather have an Astra, but I could see the Corsa being a big seller. It will be GMs first cheap car that doesn't look cheap, in the US.

Crystal-Ball Gazing
Well if they built it somewhere else, what would happen to Oshawa once the W bodies die? I dont beleive that is a factory GM would want to leave idle. And since Zeta is kind of replacing the W bodies, it makes sense.

Lajdziak Reacts: More on Our Saturn Family
I'm almost certain the 6 speed is interchangable between the 2.8L and 3.6L. And the 2.8L turbo even makes similar hp/tq numbers compared to the 3.6L, so that wouldn't be an issue either.

Crystal-Ball Gazing
Then dont post anything like you know its right, unless you speak with a GM executive face to face. If you haven't been around long enough to know they are right about what they post, then dont question them. If you want to base your opinions on where ever you got your incorrect information, well thats your choice.

Crystal-Ball Gazing
Notice the key word IF it happens. That doesn't mean it will happen.

Detroit Designers: "'Retro' is a no-no."
Thats what I was thinking, except that I actually like the Camaro.

Curve is ugly, still no sedans

GM Ford loses market share to Honda and Toyota
All in 7 months. Maybe he meant 30% of the fleet market, who knows.

Crystal-Ball Gazing
What will happen when the Grand Prix dies? Will Pontiac's biggest car be the G6 for the forseeable future?

Crystal-Ball Gazing
What I have been hearing about the GTO doesnt sound too good. I doubt it's coming.

Kappa II: Making a business case
Still no small coupes/sedans? That would be a waste.

June '06 C&D Impala SS Roadtest
They may not care about the actual numbers, but they do care about how the car feels. My mom, which obviously has a family, rented a Galant(previous gen) and commented on how much better the steering felt than her Buick Lesabre. She is not a car enthusiast at all. People don't want floaty rides, family or no family.

Kappa II: Making a business case
I would like to see: (2.4L, turbo 2.0, and DI 3.6 for all except Cadillac) Pontiac: Solstice, 2+2 coupe and sedan Buick: 2+2 convertible Saturn: Sky, and 2 and 4 door hatches Chevy: Nomad, styled less ugly Cadillac: Same as Northstar, without the 2.8L.

Little features you love
Auto headlights, for the same reason CSpec said. Power windows/door locks sunroof/targa heated/cooled seats bucket seats w/console floor shifter ignition on dash remote keyless entry Radio controls on steering wheel HUD (cant remember the last time I looked at the actual speedometer, but I wish the tach were incuded in the HUD) Rear windows that go all the way down (sedans) No frame around the window

Since when did only people who need trucks buy trucks? And not everyone has 30k to spend, so alot of people buy the basic truck to keep the price down. I know so many people who buy trucks, and dont use them for truck things. GM needs to broaden their appeal, thats why they are getting nicer interiors.

G6 convertible trunk
This is probably a stupid question, but is the Eos sold here? I've never heard of it before this thread. Though I dont like the G6 vert too much either, I think it was a missed opportunity.

Detroit Designers: "'Retro' is a no-no."
While I agree with the rest, I disagree with the Challenger. I can't see any reason to take that car over a Camaro or Mustang. It's not retro, it's a carbon copy. I'd rather have a 2 door Charger, now that would be a nice car.

Sky, Solstice and Corvette: S.O.S.
I say let Zeta wait. GM should've brought us the full line of kappas and been first to the segment. With the Zetas they will just be following DCX. GM could've created, and owned a new segment, instead they will be competing in one that already has solid entries to compete with, that are already building a loyal customer base.

Sky, Solstice and Corvette: S.O.S.
How many units could kappa sell if it were more flexible? My guess would be around 200k annually 110k sedans, 40k coupes, 30k roadsters, 20k wagons. I would guess the average transaction price would be somewhere around $22k-$23k. I think they would have pretty good profit margins. Anyone agree/disagree?

Sky, Solstice and Corvette: S.O.S.
Thats what I was thinking. Outside of the ugly RX8, no one offers a car like that. GM wont do it until DCX or Hyundai are successful at it, and own the market, then GM will finally have a competitor 5 years later, just like what happened with the LX cars, and the Mustang. But who will continue to get all the good press? It wont be GM

Sky, Solstice and Corvette: S.O.S.
Yes!I have been saying that was something Pontiac needed ever since I first heard of kappa.

Why would you limit who you can sell your truck to like that?
