GMX002 Cancelled
So Chinese Buicks, all of Vauxhall, Pontiac GTO, middle east Luminas, they are all false advertisement? Do you propose we change them all to just be branded as GM?

Loss of GT-R sports car to Nissan angers Infiniti
Wow that was a great deal But it's not just any Chevrolet, it's a Corvette, completely different. And even at $65k, its still a bargain.

Buick Sales Epitomize GM's Woes
So true. There are so many people out there that if it doesn't come from the factory, they wont change it. So why not offer it from the factory to cash in on those people?

Buick Sales Epitomize GM's Woes
Normally when you increase wheel size, the overall diameter stays the same, so there is no need to make it fit one or the other. GM just needs to figure out how to not have a 6 inch gap between the tire and the fender.

Auto analyst slams GM to VA dealers
Any CEOs in your list? CFOs? So because a few journalists believe you, your plan will work? Thats why they are journalists, not running the businesses themselves. It's one thing to say how a company should be run, or write about how a company should be run, and it's another thing to actually run the business.

sema
I like the front more, other than the body kit. The thicker bar looks better, and resembles the Chevy SS concept. The production front looks too economy car like.

Meaning it's too late to bring someone else in to do the job, so it's on Rick's shoulders, I believe.

RENAULT-NISSAN BOSS PREDICTS RECOVERY FOR GM
I didn't say thats what I would be aiming for. Though BMW doesn't sell the amount of volume GM needs to stay in business. Reducing capacity just increases the handicap GM has per car. If GM's costs were variable, that would be fine. GM would be able to produce less cars at a higher price. But producing less cars for GM now, would mean higher costs per car, negating the price increase. I think GM needs to do something different. GM needs to connect with consumers in a way that they would be willing to pay more, but for not much more of an increase in content. GM needs to regain it's American spirit, and stop trying to beat the Japanese at their own game, because they will lose everytime. GM needs to show its heritage in its designs, like the Camaro. The Japanese cant go there.

But along with the incentive came MSRP increases. Either way, any competitor can put $1500 more content and still price the vehicle the same as GM. GM can never win like that.

Nissan doesn't have the same fixed costs as GM either. The market is price sensitive, GM cant just charge an extra $1500 to make up for their fixed costs.

RENAULT-NISSAN BOSS PREDICTS RECOVERY FOR GM
But I've seen articles stating GM makes $10,000 on each gmt-900 sold. There is room to spend more to improve the product. But on a $14,000 Cobalt, GM does not have that $10,000 margin. The Corvette is a lower volume sports car, that still has a pricetag of $45,000. Every car you mentioned is over $30,000. The Tahoes are selling at over $40,000. Even if GM put as much work into the Cobalt, it would still not sell at over $20,000 for non SS SC models. The Aura would still have a tough time selling for over $30,000. GM will never be able to truly fix those cars until the fixed costs are brought down. I'm sure the Astra is just as good, if not better than the focus. But GM is stupid for not bringing that car here from the beginning.

It seems simple, but...... the price of the C6 and 900s can cover it. It's the cars with thinner margins that are difficult for GM.

2007 Pontiac G6 Changes
So no manual for the 3.6 GTP? Thats disappointing.

Auto analyst slams GM to VA dealers
Unfortunately, the general public probably looks at GM cars in a more negative light than most here, if the GM cars even get a look at all.

2007 Equinox changes
Style is subjective, and I haven't taken a good look at the 2 so I'm undecided on that. But everything else, no competetion. GM is 6 years behind.

The New Infiniti G35
The Blue one looks better. That is the previous G35 right? The rear on the new one slopes more, the reason why I hate the G6 coupe so much.

New York: 2007 Suzuki XL7
Well GM just needs to do that. Thats why GM's image sucks now, by offering the worst engine to drive down prices. GM needs to sell on content, not on low price, because the Koreans will kill them everytime on price, and still have higher content.

2007 Equinox changes
I'd hate to admit it, but the Rav4 blows GM's Thetas away.

New York: 2007 Suzuki XL7
Just like the CTS. GM needs to stop doing that. We want nicer cars, not bigger cars.
-
The New Infiniti G35
the only coupes that look worse are the eclipse, and solara. at least the monte carlo doesn't come last.
-
The New Infiniti G35
I didn't mean it literally. Just meant I disagree. I like the current one alot.

NYIAS G6 GXP Concept Poll
I dont think Saturn and Pontiac are owned by the same company anymore. I mean, the same company could never make a car that looks as good as the Aura, and a car that looks as bad as this thing at the same time.
-
NYIAS G6 GXP Concept Poll
Wow. Great job GM, you made the G6 look worse. It looks like it has buck teeth. Make the grille wider not taller, you know, so it gives the illusion that the car is wider, and not taller, like sporty/performance cars should be.
-
The New Infiniti G35
Nope its just you. I think they made it worse, it looks softened. Now it looks more like a Lexus, which I dont consider a good thing.

Black Tuesday
Well think about it from GM's perspective. Does GM have to worry about GM enthusiests, or does GM need to worry more about the general public? The general public would sooner read CR, or Motortrend, than go to a brand specific website. The GM enthusiests make up a small percentage of the market, not enough to sustain GM. GM needs to find ways to get the buyers that aren't brand loyal, and the buyers that are import loyal. While some here are not brand loyal, and some are import loyal, the majority here are not that way. It sucks, but I dont see that as being enough of a reason to give up on GM.
