Wind has picked up drastically in the last hour or 2, rain is heavy, trees are swaying big time. Hoping power stays on as long as possible, it's way to early to try to go to bed.

I live right about 2 blocks in from the shore here in The Bronx right near the Throgs Neck Bridge, Wind started to kick up a few hours ago, no rain yet. My mother works at a public library in Yonkers and she tells me they will be closed tomorrow. Irene wasn't all that bad last year, I'm hoping this one is about the same. Got my phone on the charger and it will stay plugged in untii we lose power, if ever.

I could say the same thing about Porsche. With that said I know the Civic attracts a wider range of people and I agree the redesign was lame. I'm still trying to see what is different about it. I've never been much for Hondas but their designs over the past number of years have lacked any sort of substance, whereas in the past I could at least give them credit for trying. I still like the Acura Legend of the early 90's, I always liked the clean classy look of it. Honda dropped the ball big time when they replaced it with the RL and it seems at least now they're wasting no time in correcting their mistakes in regards to the Civic.

Good ear, it's true those are the same sounds used for McQueen's Mustang, both films were done with the same producer who also happened to produce The French Connection, which has it's own classic chase scene. I guess along with using Bill Hickman they decided to use the audio from the Bullitt chase too, perhaps as a means to cut cost? It's also interesting to note that despite the fact the chase begins in NYC and goes over the bridge into Jersey the final minutes of the chase actually occur in NY on the Saw Mill River Parkway and conclude with the cars bumping into the guardrail and the crash on The Taconic State Parkway respectively.

That's a great chase, here is another one I've always enjoyed for sheer distance, action and screen time. Also the first time I saw it the scene with the kids really makes your heart stop for a moment. Two Pontiac's going at it with the legendary Bill Hickman at the wheel of a land barge if ever there was one.

It comes down to this, if you have the money to buy a brand new Rolls, gas mileage and the price of gas are not a concern.

Do want, I miss my '78 Ninety Eight, though mine was a base model LS. This one has the very rare gauge package as well, the price is a bit steep but given the condition of the car I hope it finds a good home.

I think I fixed it. 1959 was the egg crate grille, right? Yes that's the correct model now, '59 was basically an MCE of the 57-58 models.

I see the Plymouth was corrected, I think it's a pretty clean design given how gaudy some cars were beginning to look by the late '50's.

The Plymouth is a 1958 model, which I would take, though I wouldn't mind the actual '59 model either.

Dodge Challenger R/T Chrysler 300 Dodge Charger R/T Ford Mustang Boss 302 or just a standard 5.0 GT Jeep Patriot ( reminds me alot of the old Cherokee which is one of my favorite Jeeps ) Ram 1500 Cadillac CTS-V GM just doesn't offer products I care for much these days, the Camaro hasn't really caught my eye as much as it would have if it were based on a second gen model. Oldsmobile is gone, Buick could fill that void but they lack RWD models, though I could see myself in a Regal GS. The CTS is about the only model currently that I would gladly shell out the cash for, and it's already getting on in years as far as the rest of GM's lineup is concerned. The Corvette is just way too low to the ground for my tastes and too small a cabin, I know it's sports car, but I just can't get comfortable in tight interiors. Chrysler is the only brand that offers the features I want (V8 RWD) in a variety of models, hence they make up the majority of my list.

My father had an '85 Sunbird when I was a kid, and that's one of the cars I learned how to drive in when I was around 5 or 6 years old. Having said that these cars have always had a special place in my heart and I considered finding a nice clean one when I grew up as sort of a memento. That idea never came to fruition because I can't fit in J-car's anymore, this particular one seems a little rough for 39K miles, aat least the interior does. Overall theses have always been my favorite J-bodies, cheers.

it appears to have Mercedes wheels from I believe the old M Class and possibly modified Mercedes tail lights though I may be wrong , the rest is impossible to identify. Here is a pic of the wheels on a first gen M-Class

For those in support of this, where do we draw the line? black boxes in our homes next? how about wire taps on all our phones? If i wanted to be under surveillance I would have made it a point to become a criminal, at least then it would be justified. As it stands, I've never been arrested nor have I committed any serious crimes aside from speeding and stealing some candy and maybe 1 or 2 matchbox cars when I was a kid. Getting back to the topic, at the very least the data should only be accessible with consent of the vehicle owner only. In the case of a death due to accident or whatever the case may be, then the next of kin should be the one to grant access to whatever data may be on the box.

If this happens I will never purchase a new car, which is fine by me because I enjoy old cars and always have. The problem for me is something someone else mentioned earlier in this thread, which is if eventually driving older cars becomes illegal. With the way things are going I wouldn't be all that surprised if banning any and all vehicles prior to the release of these black boxes becomes a reality in the near future. There is always going to be car accidents, drunk drivers, falling asleep at the wheel and everything in between, I see no benefit to this proposal. People joke that I'm a "glass is always half empty" kind of guy, and I suppose that is true. But in a case like this I think there's no denying it, this is not in the best interest of American citizens. Driving is a freedom born out of man creating the technology to build cars, now technology is being created to monitor that very freedom. We all have to pass a test in order to drive, we all know the rules of the road, it is our responsibility to follow those rules and drive safely. There are laws in place which have served well for many years to punish those who do not abide by the law, I see no need to basically make everyone on the road start o second guess their actions because of what the government might be looking at. It will create a distraction to people wondering if and when someone is monitoring them and where they are and what they're doing. That kind of monitoring is basically throwing the freedom upon which this country is built on right out the window, and anyone who doesn't see that is not seeing the bigger picture.

Cheers simply for the fact it's in such good condition and could be turned into a real sleeper given the the face it's essentially a Mustang wagon and there is a wealth of aftermarket support for Fox bodies still.

Bring back the Cherokee name for it, and make it a slightly bigger more rugged Patriot. I always thought the Patriot was a clear modern homage to the classic Cherokee. I've never been much of a fan of the Liberty, though I prefer the first gen to the current model.
