Have you lost your marbles? You think they'll have to merge with somebody else, because EV sales are pretty flat across the globe and they're cancelling one plant In Europe? GM doesn't have a plant in Europe and there's currently no plans for one. Does that mean they ought to look for a partner come 2030, too? I think GM will be equally "held back" because they don't have any plans for a European Ultium plant.

The problem is not enough people ARE buying EVs. Otherwise they wouldn't have cancelled the plans for the plant. "The slowdown in Europe's EV market is the biggest cause of the delays. Although the Turkish plant has been canceled, LGES will still supply Ford with EV batteries from its existing factories."

I mean, they still have the three US plants all still going up.

My wife and I are expecting our first in January and names are where we are completely stumped. We're having a girl but no name we've heard has really stuck out to us yet.

Thank god everybody made the switch to the superior charging infrastructure. One of the biggest holdups in the switch to EVs is the garbage-@ss infrastructure that's not ran by Tesla.

What a silly recall. People replace their batteries with batteries shaped differently and Toyota issues a recall for this? Also, this is news to you? "Some replacement 12-volt batteries of the size specified for the subject vehicles have smaller top dimensions than others. If a small-top battery is used for replacement and the hold-down clamp is not tightened correctly, the battery could move when the vehicle is driven with forceful turns. The movement could cause the positive battery terminal to contact the hold-down clamp and short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire."

On somewhat of a random thought, my local GM dealership has a new Blazer EV RS on their lot. I forgot about this yesterday. because I would have liked to walk around it. I agree. The whole, "you're now getting a bigger battery and more range" thing isn't necessary. It's been proved that 250 miles of range would suffice for nearly everybody on a daily basis. Now, people who were smart and wanted the smaller battery, which would be the most efficient trim because it's the lightest with the smallest wheels, can't get the product. I get most people will get the bigger battery anyway but, the entry price of vehicles is just too high as it is. There are PLENTY of people who buy vehicles in that class who aren't getting fully loaded vehicles.

That's cool but Tesla is already building their 4680 so BMW may have a great product but it's still on the shelf, at this point.

I know the Tesla fanboys didn't want to admit it, but this was just inevitable. There was no way they could sustain a 60% market share when there are a dozen new EVs hitting the streets every year in all sorts of different categories. I don't think Tesla is going away or anything but the market share just wasn't sustainable with everything new coming out.

That can't continue to happen and benefit the consumer, right? Just because there's more and you're getting more, doesn't mean that fits the bill for this consumer base. This is an EQUINOX, not a Cadillac.

Hahaha well Musk as a person is a completely different issue and I can understand not liking the man. I was speaking strictly of the product(s).

You are literally giving them a pass right now. While what Rivian did was crappy, that is a completely different issue because they were already selling the vehicles at the original pricing. They didn't make that price hike before deliveries. That was about 6 months after it was being delivered. We all know what "around" means. It's a relative word that could mean all sorts of different things to all sorts of different people. They knew this. They knew exactly this. That's why I think it's crappy of them. Also, I'm not annoyed that it isn't 30k. I'm annoyed because *to me* 35k is less "around" than it ought to be. "Around" feels more like +/- 10% ($3,000, in this case).
