  1. Well, 1 million is still less than what Tesla did last year, 1.31m. I thoroughly believe GM will surpass Tesla in total sales but I don't think it'll happen by 2025. That's a hell of a lot of production and sales to pop up in less 3 years. There's just no way that growth can happen just in the industry itself. Even if they did have the production capacity to hit 1.5m throughout 2025, the demand also has to be there.
  2. More like >20% for everything that isn't an S Class. EQS SUV & GLS EQS SUV: 104,400 minus 20% would be: 83,520 GLS: 81,800 EQE Sedan & E Class EQE Sedan: 74,900 minus 20% would be: 59,920 E Class: 56,750 EQB & GLB EQB SUV: 52,750 minus 20% would be: 42,200 GLB: 39,800 EQE SUV & GLE EQE SUV: 77,900 minus 20% would be: 62,320 GLE: 57,700 Every one of those is greater than 20% higher than their ICE sibling.
  3. I'll be curious how these same exact Teslas sell once they're all 10-15 years old, because there hasn't been a peep out about any all new refreshes or anything. Also, your numbers seem pretty insane. You know this, right? You think they'll just flip a switch this year and add 500k units of production AND demand immediately follows suit? Also, 1.8 +0.5 = 2.3, not 2.5. 300,000 unit's is significant here. I'm not sure what your Mexico-plant sentence is supposed to say. I think we can all agree that Tesla saying they'll have an all-new 25k model is just magic dust until they ACTUALLY start production. Everything they've come out with brand new has had YEARS of delays before they're in customers' hands. So I don't think the legacy manufacturers are all that worried about a 25k Tesla until there's something tangible there, not just words. Where'd you get your 25,000 units number from? Just curious.
  4. I don't think any of the legacy automakers will have enough production up and running by 2025 to even do this, even if they have the product portfolio.
  5. Yeah, the rear pretty much has the same exact issue going on.. It just sucks to look at. That's disappointing to me because I'm on board with EVs and I've pretty much loved the S Class since 2000.. but their blend of those two things is just horrible.
  6. I think that leads to the jellybean styling though so, I kind of agree with him there. While it isn't the entire issue with their aesthetics, I think it's a big part in how it's all shaped together. If you brought that down it would look much more S Class-like, which I think everybody agrees is an attractive shape. Also, sorry for the garbage drawing on the EQS, I can't smoothly navigate a mouse to draw for the life of me. Hahaha
  7. So it's more of an "everybody has an issue" type of thing, right? The only truly reasonably priced EVs are the Bolt, Bolt EUV and Leaf. Everything else is pretty insane for the size of vehicle you're getting.

Okay, so already more steps involved... This is starting exactly how I would expect it.

I think that is a HUGE mistake, to not support Apple CarPlay going forward. Too many people love it and use it. I cannot imagine whatever they cook up will be as nice.
  10. Mercedes charges 75k for a vehicle that's identical to their 57k vehicle.

It's cool and all but it looks awkward having the same cabin shape with more modern from and rear clips/lights. I do love that color though!
  12. My parents had an Envoy with that I6. The engine was just fine but I think those crappy 4spd autos really just sucked all of the life out of the engine. I think a modern 6-8spd would have faired waaaay better.
  13. I don't know why the 300 never REALLY got a premium interior. I think they should have been playing in the luxury market with Chrysler 20 years ago.

Ahhh! I hate this coupe SUV thing.

Race engines are a completely different beast designed specifically for one thing.

That car is not high revving. You must not have read anything on it because it makes max hp at 6500rpm and max torque(276lb-ft) at 3000rpm.
  17. I do really like how the exterior looks. Great looking car.
  18. Some of those are pretty fair points but I think the limited run of 3000 units helps its cause. 10-15 years from now I think our generations(current 30-50 year olds) will want these still.

Speaking of airplanes (obviously, in this thread), has anybody wanted the new Netflix documentary on the MH370 disappearance? It'd very interesting and I'd suggest a watch.
  20. I'd also like to add, I'd prefer my Challenger to be a "regular" Hellcat, +/- the Redeye, like you. If I really wanted a 9 second car, it could be built for a lot less and driven without worry of a depreciating asset. I bet most of these 3000 units won't see a full tank of gas a year because collectors want an investment and know a "last call" will appreciate. They're probably correct but I'd prefer one I could drive without that worry or thought in the back of my head. To that idea, it kind of bums me out realizing I'm not sure if I'll ever own an 03-04 Cobra for that same reason. The prices are pretty nuts already and if I did happen to buy one, I know damn well it would be in the back of my head that if I didn't drive it, I would likely break even or make money down the road. It would probably just make more sense to build a New Edge to my liking. There's actually one on a local Facebook page for sale with a Coyote shoehorned in the engine bay.. lovely car.
  21. I was talking about the Challenger 170. It isn't that I don't care about the Challenger or that I dislike it. I just don't care about this "last call" marketing crap. It's a one-trick pony in an area that I just don't really care that much about nor am impressed with anymore.
  22. You're not wrong about their efficiency but you're saying the actual cost to Tesla has to be right around the same as the Model 3, to price it at 50k. Just with it being much larger and a stainless steel body makes me feel like it has to cost a fair amount more for Tesla to produce.
  23. You can't ACTUALLY believe they'll be selling 50k trucks though, right? Just the mass/size alone and a stainless steel body will bring their costs well above a Model 3. A Model 3 with AWD starts at 53k. I just cannot fathom how this could be priced in the 50k price range. Maybe their complete base model(that likely will only be on sale for a few months, like the 35k Model 3) will be shown for 50k. But, everybody and their brother knows this thing will not be a 50k truck once you add AWD (because it's a truck and I'd wager 90% of orders will be AWD) and a battery to go 300 miles or more. "At the event in Los Angeles, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the new Cybertruck will start at $39,900 before incentives, but there will be two more AWD variations that will start at $49,900 and $69,900 respectively." That's a quote from who knows how long ago but it was supposed to be on sale in 2021, then 2022. It's 2023. It's supposed to start production this year...but we'll have to see what ACTUALLY happens here.

My wife and I watched this trailer the other day. We both look forward to seeing it. It looks corny but, still funny.
  25. Exactly, and we all understand why. Most companies do the same thing. I don't foresee a 40k Cybertruck ever though. That was announced like 5 years ago and inflation has been insane. I could guess a 50k work truck version may possibly be a thing...but I'm not too confident in that either. This will be a 100k vehicle and they're not selling 200-250,000 $100k of these a year. Nobody has sales like that. Nothing could possibly have demand like that.
