  1. This past weekend we had our anual "Bro Float"(huge group of just guys - no broads allows!) and we rent one big-ass van and then somebody else usually takes a truck for extra storage. Well my buddy recently bought a 2010 Ram 2500 with the Cummins 6.6 and a 6spd(he works on farms and actually uses the truck for what it's made for - the day before he was towing 20,000lbs). That engine was an absolute monster at any speed. My friend is a very conservative driver like myself and our 200 mile(one way) trip on the interstate and through mountains we got 19.2mpg - round trip. I don't know what the tow package had but that thing was geared super low. 70mph on the interstate was turning nearly 2500rpm in 6th. He actually would start in 3rd 90% of the time because 1st is for those 20,000lb loads and second was just as short. 3rd gear ever bogged it down once nor was he slipping the clutch for an hour. Also where we filled up at diesel was only $2.25/gallon!! The trip itself went according to plan. We all just got super wasty while floating down the river with no women to tell us to slow down lol. Everything was within walking distance so that rocked. I managed to convince some bar owner to let us in and drink(just 3 of us at this point in the night). It was right at 1am and they were supposed to be closing right then. We ended up drinking with the owner and bartenders for a couple of hours and I only remember having to pay for our first beers. It rocked.
  2. This is a Black Label though.. I think they are pretty much loaded to the gills already. Plus, with this being a Black Label there are other benefits that go well beyond the vehicle price itself. http://www.lincoln.com/blacklabel/memberprivileges/ Beyond $50k, I'm not remotely interested in this car unless they put the 2.7EB under the hood. I won't disagree there.. It isn't worth 50k. I was just say'n. Definitely peak a little interest if they threw the 2.7 in it.

  4. Only needed one example because your opening line was "Every EcoBoost-powered Ford that we’ve tested, Mustang or otherwise, has either delivered decent fuel economy or served up great power-but never both simultaneously." And it was a C/D review, in July of this year. Well I missed the edit window.. So I'll just post everything seperate.. Only needed one example because your opening line was "Every EcoBoost-powered Ford that we’ve tested, Mustang or otherwise, has either delivered decent fuel economy or served up great power-but never both simultaneously." And my example was a C/D review, in July of this year. Their staff should get on the same page. From that article it seems like they are more upset about packaging rather than the engine itself. And I'll agree. I think Ford's packaging can be really $h!ty. I mean unless you want to custom order a vehicle with the "ala carte" options but then you are definitely paying full MSRP for that. I've tried building Fords online and there seems to be 1 feature I want from each equipment group that totally jacks the price up. Example, I tried to build a MKC online. I wanted the 2.3, AWD. Simple start.. Then it has basically everything I always want at that point exept I wanted to add adaptive cruise control and the larger wheels. Two seperate packages.. 10k to get those two things. F that.

  7. Holy buckets that's one heck of a fine.. Any gov agency is corrupt if you ask me.. It's just what level of corruptness.
  8. I think it looks pretty dang sharp. I'd perfer a different color for sure though.
  9. Bro Float weekend! First vacation in a year. Mucho needed.
  10. I'd like them to bring back the Trailblazer name as well. It may seem blasphemy because it will be a FWD/AWD CUV but a body on frame SUV but I think using a name with some recognition behind it will be very beneficial. That it would. I know they weren't much to look at on the inside but my brother still has his '03 and it has been rock solid. My dad had an Envoy(same thing) and the ONLY thing that went was the catalytic converter and I think he got rid of it around 120k. The only thing it didn't do very well at was fuel economy. That wasn't a very good era for SUV fuel economy. His also had the 4.2L I6. I wasn't a huge fan of the engine. It seemed to really need revs to work but that could have also been just the old tech 4spd trans. It was definitely the tranny on those. My brother's would straight up haul butt with very little gas pedal action. It is a big gas hog though.Did his have the 4.2 or 5.3? My dad got his the first model year and only offered the 4.2..

  13. If it is, will it come with a disclamer that if your over 5'8" tall you will not fit? I cannot see a sub-compact or Compact that tall people can fit into that has 3 rows.Well in all fairness there aren't many 3rd rows that fit people over 5'8" anyway. But this could still really benefit a young family where they might squeeze extra kids for a few years yet.
  14. So this new one will also be a tweener most likely? just on the smaler side.. No, the new Equinox will be on a compact platform based on the Cruze, it will be sized directly in line with the class. The new crossover will be midsize like the Edge. Okay, so what I was originally thinking then. But they will squeeze a third row in there? Or we not really have any information on it and it might just be an option? Ps. I love how you can edit out other quotes to keep things cleaner and highlight things to show what you're actually responding to. Okay that was a random thought. I may have to re post this piece. lol
  15. The Trax IS sub-compact, and the Equinox IS compact. Correct, the only thing muddying up the sizing is that the Equinox is tweener sized. It competes with the CR-V and Escape, but physically is a half-step bigger, that's just the nature of the platform it's built on. That will soon be rectified. So this new one will also be a tweener most likely? just on the smaler side..
  16. I like the idea. I'm not sure if it really needs to be three rows because anyting smaller than the Traverse with a third row will be kindof crampy and lose the storage behind the rear seats. When I forst read GM is looking to add an SUV I was expecting something in the middle of the Equinox and Traverse like the Edge is for Ford. Larger, 2 row SUV. A nice middle ground before the 3 row Explorer. But GM is going the other way and a small entry 3 row to bridge the gap to the large 3 row SUV. I like the idea and I'm inrigued as to how it'll look. Could this also be the next Cadillac SUV that they need?
  17. One of my best friends is supposed to be picking up a 1.0 Fiesta hatch today. I'm pretty stoked as I'll get to drive the lil guy. He's actually trading in his '08 Challenger R/T for it lol..little different.. Priotities change as we get older and spending 1/4 the money on gas will help. Between him only putting premium in the Challenger and the 43mpg highway the Fiesta gets on regular should make a little difference.
  18. Just watched the GT350 get its first win. The driver also got his first win and he's only 16 years old. Continental Tire Sportscar Series
  19. F the midwest right now.
  20. This is the staging lanes.. at times they will utilize all four past that walk through area. Which is why my friend and I didn't know if we'd end up next to eachother or not. This random pic I found appears to be from a "Midnight Madness" that they hold once or twice a month over the summer. Kind of like a test and tune night but there are 10 times the people and ALOT of ricer junk also. Still plenty of good cars and they have a huge part of the parking lot blocked off for drifting. I never got into that madness. But the strip is open from 7pm-1am. I can at one of these and It was an hour and a half wait from one pass to the next. Never ran at one ever again. I won't wait that long to make a pass while half the time just sitting idling my car.. This is where you drive under like I was saying above. It's such a rush seeing the grandstands on both sides and hearing all of the other cars(when they aren't ricers). Also, this is just another googled image - random.
  21. Awwww no $h!??? I knew you got your Ram but I didn't realize you traded in your Vette.. Well who gives an F? Steal it for a night! YOLO right?!? lol
  22. You should take your Vette to the drag strip some time on a test 'n tune night. It is such a rush going under the press/officials boxes, through the water box, doing a little burnout to dry the tires(unless you have drag radials - then light 'em up!) then staging. Every single pass I've ever made (only around a dozen or so..) I've been nervous and giddy at the same time. Our track was 25 bucks and run as many passes as you'd like.. I think they are open for 4 hours. You can sit in the stands and watch for a bit. And there are PLENTY of amateurs like ourselves who you can watch and then just walking around talking to other guys about their cars. It's just a great time. Easily the number one thing I'll miss about having my Mach 1. I mean I can still go there but it isn't quite the same when I'm not running(who wants to see a timeslip for an Escape???? lol).
  23. A handful of years ago now(5ish). One of my best friends had a '98 mustang GT and I had a '04 Mustang GT and we headed up to our local strip(Gateway Motorsports Park) for a test 'n tune night. Usually there aren't to many people and you can get some back to back runs in without waiting in line too long. Well we pulled in to opposite lanes hoping by the time we got to the water box we'd actually line up next to eachother. We each made 5 passes(within about an hour and a half) that night and 3 of them were against eachother. That alone was pretty dang awesome! As for the races themselves.. He had pretty much a full bolt on SN, intake, headers, catless and mufferless exhaust(that bitch screamed), throttle body, 3.73 gears.. I just had a catback on at the time. No shame in admitting he's definitely the better driver. He had me to the 60' every time. And each time I'd walk right past time.. 3-0 that night. As for the other two passes.. One was against a highly modified early 90's vette(ran high 11s) and I think the other was against some ricer neon. It was a fun wednesday night.
  24. I can't wait to see it! Minions are my favorite! Those little guys are so damn funny!
  25. NICE! And that movie looks awesome so no judgement here other than you have fun taste in movies!
