Yeah. when you have a model/design that transcends generations and appeals to everyone from hippies to car enthusiasts, you did something right. How they didn't have this on the streets 3 years ago at this point is beyond me.

The 930/911 SC began my Porsche affinity, too. I remember seeing those voluptuous fenders and whale tails as a child in Germany and just having that silhouette burned into my brain permanently. I recall having those little capsules that you put in the bath tub and they grow into sponges of various different shapes and having a red 930 one that I realize now was the pretty much the first automobile I recognized and held as a standard. To this day, I've always been a fan of the brand and that trademark shape.

You're not. The Amarok would be a success over here. The truck market is only getting hotter. It's a no-brainer. As for a neo-VW Microbus, it would sell like wildfire. Dealers wouldn't be able to get them fast enough. My wife would probably deny me physical intimacy until I got her one if they built one.

It drives much better than the Corolla. Even the old Prius wasn't that bad. Just because it's boring and slow doesn't mean it drives terrible. Also, nowhere did I say the Prius had driving dynamics going for it in the first place.

I didn't say fun. I said 'fine'. As in competent. Competitive to it's peers. Anyone who'd say the new Prius is awful to drive is just full of $h!.

The new Prius is nowhere near awful to drive. You can hate it's looks all you want, you can hate Toyota all you want, but the new car is fine to drive.

VW is being crucified in a way one of those other companies are. Intentional or not, they polluted a more than they should. They didn't kill people. They didn't dump millions of gallons of crude in the ocean. Or bury tons of radioactive material. In the grand scheme of things, it is a minor incident.

You may be onto something there. Having a hybrid or EV model at least as an option could help make a stronger business case for it, and could help serve to differentiate it from the Golf.

The Scirocco would be cool. They couldn't make it AWD though, for fear of stepping on the TT's toes. Keeping it FWD and cheaper would be the right call.

You guys can believe what you want to believe, but the fact of the matter is I'm basing my opinion off actual sales experience. You're more than welcome to dispute that based on your own biases, but that doesn't mean you're right. The Tesla offers staggering performance and sleek looks. The i3 offers cutting-edge tech and quirkiness. The Prius offers unmatched reliability and cost of ownership. The Leaf is crazy cheap right now, and offers more than enough EV range for the average urban commuter. Time will tell, but I'm rather skeptical that anyone in the market for an EV is going to see this thing as a whole as having a notable edge over competitors.

Thanks guys. @A Horse With No Name It is certainly closer to the mantra of the Maxima than the Maxima itself. @Stew Yeah, I at least had some slight interest in it, but no longer. Sounds great on paper, but in real life, not so much. Then again, that's a long list of cars.

@Drew Dowdell Sorry, her car was an S. No matter. Building a car out to her specs, which was loaded (she said it stickered for right at 36K), on Chrysler's very own website a 36 month/45,000 mile lease before tax w/ no money down is $534 a month. Add taxes to that, and you're at $575 all day.

Nissan also doesn't have a Volt for their Leaf has to contend with. Also, a large portion of Leaf buyers lease. I don't foresee GM having a 13K incentive on Bolt. In reality, the Leaf will be much, much cheaper to buy. I don't think many people are going to see enough merit in the extended range to buy a car that is so at odds with the packaging and look most consumers at large are attracted to. Nothing against the car, just what I anticipate.

Well, I didn't want to do this on 9/11 with it being such an important date and all, but seeing as in how it is September, I planned on doing a 911 thread. There may not be many replies on this one, but I know there's a few out there who have an appreciation for the brand. As for me, well, many of you probably know the 911 is my all-around favorite car model, so this one will be both fun an torturous. The rules- 1) Factory 911's from Porsche only, no RUF's, 9ff's, Singers, etc. 2) Any era and market is allowed. 3) These obviously are not your only cars. 4) Maximum of 9 choices. Have fun.
