MT Tests '16 Sierra Denali. Puts Pushrods To Test. Results Astound.
Never mind mind the fact that his excuse is based of the assumption that gas prices will always be low, when they surely will not be this low always. What will the excuse be when gas goes up again? While they won't always be low, they will stay relatively low for the next 3 to 5 years. China's growth is scaling back and lots of new oil production came online in North America. Saudi Arabia is in crisis mode, pumping as much as they can to keep the lights on because the price per barrel is so low. So, he's most likely right that prices will stay low.... still... a bunch of people buying trucks that take premium that they are uninformed about is a potential customer relations issue. One full scale middle east war (which we are on the way to at this rate) in the next two years changes that outlook exponentially.

Oh pass a damn tissue already and talk about the GMC instead of Ford, given that is what the thread is actually about.

ReVolting Development
So if 50 miles of electric driving means buying gas 4 times a year. Couldn't a 150 mile range mean never needing gas? If I had a short commute, which I actually do, I would rather have a pure electric car and never need gas. If the goal is zero emissions, no trips to the gas station, then a pure EV is the end game. The Volt is having the best of both worlds. What are you not getting here?

Continue to call it a bait thread yet can't seem to stop posting on it, thus giving it credibility past that of a "bait thread". Merry Christmas to all indeed.

Maybe one day you will actually read what I posted instead of what you are reading in your head. Furthermore, it does not matter. Can GM fans use the same excuse as yourself with this "wait until..." nonsense? No so Ford's "wait and see" is just that, wait and see. Right now, the 6.2L pushrod is a beast that is also good on gas with it's "older tech" i.e. "pushrod engine". Do you get it now ? LOL@desperate backtracking in the face of old tech learning new tricks :D Face it: GM is schooling Ford in truck and RWD applications. But just wait until next year Bong, or the year after, or the year after that? Per his own link. "All Gen V engines feature direct injection, Active Fuel Management (AFM) and continuously variable valve timing. And like traditional small-block engines that have been around since 1955, the Gen V small-blocks are single-cam, overhead-valve design and feature a 4.400-inch bore center."

That "old" V6 is newer than the pushrod it competes against. No, no, NO, the technology is newer, but the V6 is the same basic and original EcoBoost that launched a decade ago, that was only updated several years ago by adding TiVCT instead of just iVCT. The 6.2L is completely new (as is the 8 speed) and launched more recently. New Ford V6 is months away now. As is the 10 speed. No because the pushrod that the GM motor is based off of, is older. This "new" motor is merely a revision of the existing 6.2L (the LT1 really isn' t all that different from the LS3 it replaced) that has been around for decades. Not sure what you are not getting here. The pushrod GM is older than the 3.5L Ford. To the rest of your post, it's the same old "wait until..." when you have no other argument. Doesn't even merit a response honestly.

Huh?? You think the Continental is "top end" as far as America goes? Seriously? No wonder I just can't take you seriously in regards to cars.

I hate it when I see a misspelled word of mine and it's been more than five minutes since the last edit. Ugh. Collier? Really? Should have been "cooler". Damn autocorrect.

Umm, hell no. I'm just tripping out over the fact that it is 15-20 degrees cooler here in the desert than just about anywhere east of the Mississippi. El Nino is wreaking havoc on the weather patterns here. What temps are you lookin' at? Prior to today we've been highs in the mid 50's even low 60's for almost the past month. I just keep waiting to walk out of my house in the morning and finally get hit in the face with the nasty teens and 20's but it just hasn't happened yet. Heck, yesterday morning I was woken up before my alarm for a thunderstorm. On my drive to the bus I could only go about 40mph because of visibility and that much water on the ground, it was dumping rain hard. If that was snow, it would have been 2ft it was coming down that hard and it lightly rained all day. Weird. Ass. Weather. We have been in the 50s and 60s here while my hometown back in NC will be near 80 for Christmas. Craziness. I know the midwest is a little collier than that but you are at the same temperature as Phoenix so that is something right there.

I agree about the suspension ccap. Should have been two games just because the refs screwed up ejecting him in the Carolina game. The plethora of excuses he and the Giants have given for his actions have just shown that they have zero respect for what could have happened here. Completely classless by the entire organization.

About the Beckam Jr stuff? If you weren't watching the game you won't have the real "feel" for what was going on. It was a mess and embarrassing. I kid you not, he was involved in stuff nearly every play he was on the field in the 3rd quarter. Honestly kind of surprised his coaches and teammates allowed him to stay on the field. The commentators were surprised he wasn't ejected. Agreed. I watched the game from start to finish and in thirty plus years of watching football, I have never seen any player commit so many personal fouls, on top of a deliberate helmet targeting hit and NOT get ejected. Piss poor officiating by not sitting that punk down for the rest of the game. That helmet to helmet hit could have ended a career. I didn't even realize how poor of a call(or lack thereof a call) that was until replays and there is really only one angle that shows how deliberate and heinous it was. Also, seeing highlights does'nt do it justice to how bad and out of control he was. Like you and I watching it all the way through we understand how out of control he was and coaches, teammates, and refs all just let it happen over and over and over. Chippiness is one thing, it gets annoying to watch but it just is inevitable when you have 22 alpha males all in one place with the same/opposing goals, I at least understand that crap even though I hate it. This was on a whole 'nother level. Good news though, he's likely to be suspended at least one game for his antics. He deserves the final two regular season games but I doubt that will happen. I think it also sealed Coughlin's fate with the Giants. He is done. He was not even aware that Beckham had three personal foul penalties. Utterly clueless and it showed by him not sitting Beckham's ass down for a series or two. It's been a long time since I have been disgusted with a game in which my team still won. Just horrible on so many fronts.

O'Dell Beckham Jr. is a punk a** that should have been ejected for his dangerous actions today.

they're not going to design a Euro market car with MPH gauges.... in English. Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that. Would be a little strange to test a Euro model E-Class on California highway 38 near Big Bear. Not really, all of the manufacturers test all over the world for all market cars. I've spotted the Hyundai Genesis testing in Pittsburgh before it was released. GM will regularly take cars to Norway for cold weather testing and VW brings cars to Death Valley for hot weather testing. Euro market Benz's use a symbol for the parking brake... but because Americans are too dumb (in general) to understand the dashboard symbols.. or to even go look it up in the manual if they don't know what it means.... Mercedes spells it out for them on the American cars. Oh I understand how the testing goes, but the info on the Nav plus the fact that the gauges are clearly in MPH made it a little but funnier for me.

It does not matter whether it's a Euro market car or not (I would be pissed to see that mess if I lived in Europe) and regardless it looks like a cheap base model car and not in a good way. You posting pics of the most expensive model to prove your points is very misleading and telling half truths, especially when it really just doesn't look all that great in any trim.

Except for the fact that A.) you are talking about a 2017 model that is not out yet with no definitive price and B.) you will not get that interior or anything close to it for $50K. This is cluster and dash for the base model E Class. The lesson here is that it is real easy to tout your favorite brand having a "low" starting price when you display the model that is farthest from that actual price point. And for the record, that dash and gauge cluster set up is horrible, no matter which term you look at. It's an 88 Oldsmobile dash with a giant LCD screen in place of the 80's gauges. Sorry but I am not impressed by the supposed luxury leader here.
