July Auto Spotter
I saw the weirdest thing ever in the beginning of this month. Someone took an early 2000’s Taurus, debadged it, and then put a Chevy logo on the grille and then an Optra badge on the back. It was beige and like really beaten apart too. like what!????

Battery Density Starting to Surpass Moore's Law
While I agree that this battery tech is nice, we will not see and auto application for probably 6-7 years at the very least.

Battery Density Starting to Surpass Moore's Law
Of course that’s with the whole element of cost thrown out the equation. No electric car or maker has managed to ever be profitable and requires price subsidies and like OPEC there is a cartel of countries that currently have rare earth metals used in batteries.

Fiat News: Rumorpile: Hyundai Could Take Over Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
Hyundai has the scale and FWD platforms that FCA badly needs. I mean is the merger worth having some vestigial control over Ferrari? And Jeep is Jeep, RAM trucks would just be a knockout l, but then why save Chrysler or Dodge? Maybe the 300 could be reborn on the Genesis G80 platform to keep its costs down, but seriously that is already what the G80 is....a Hyundai value play almost full size heavy solidly built RWD luxury sedan. Slightly smaller than the 300 but really a modern 300 would be better downsized compared to the Charger anyways. Tau vs HEMI V8. Who wins there?

New York 2018: 2019 Cadillac XT4 Kicks Off A Product Renaissance: Comments
Like just lookkatthat. I mean where do you even begin? Just so plush and cushy. Does it even end? I could never keep my hands on the steering wheel as I’d have my hands touching everything....savouring the sensation of the materials, the caressing care of the cushion, the deep thrust of the spring, the soft envelope of the cabin...

Industry News: European Union Ready To Respond To Any U.S. Tariff On Cars
Trump may be stupid, but the trade war he's going for is not about what China exports to us TODAY. It's Made in China 2025, the most mercantilist, protectionist goddamn industrial policy since the cold war. Nothing more needs to be said. If you think Trump made WTO obsolete, wrong again. Heck I read some bull$h! article that India is cozying up to China. What a piece of work article, half-way through it mentions Modi is very concerned with India's trade deficit. No way in hell will India EVER cozy up to China! Why extend trade ties but then mention the trade deficit? Plus the EU is a bunch of bureaucrats that aren't elected, and China has a president for life. We're dealing with dictatorships all over and finally the President uses threats and is dumb enough to act out on them. Plus when you hear f@#king Colombia joining NATO....like c'mon, Colombia? Yeah that's definitely North Atlantic territory for sure...

Who Wore it Better?
I’d get the Cadillac, but only because the Blazer is poorly packaged and has barely any appreciable increase in cargo capacity or passenger space than the Equinox. That’s a shame.

Industry News: The End is Nigh: GM and Tesla Get Closer To Losing $7,500 Tax Credit
There we go again GM fully knew the rules and is now complaining because they couldn’t take advantage of it properly. this is why the Bolt is so underwhelming. GM insisted in doing little for charging infrastructure and now they’re crying. i disagree - for electric cars to ever be competitive automakers must INNOVATE and find a way to NOT rely on incentives for the consumer. i also agree though that the gas tax really needs to be increased and oil subsidies need to die, plus OPEC needs to be embargo’d. do that and every automaker will quit on gas within 1 model year and go all-in on electric.

Industry News: Diamler and Volvo Begin Bracing For A Possible Trade War
You know what’s really f@#king funny though? Take for example all these trade war fears...Boeing is going to take HUGE hit in China. that’s not a trade war issue actually, the mercantilist protecitnist Chinese government basically forced the hand of all major Chinese airlines to buy into their massively delayed, over promised Comac C919. And that plane could only have been built with the help of American and European firms. Once that is finished the State-owned Comac will reverse engineer everything and what does America get for short term revenue? China has a threat to tariffs back the only American exports?! They ARE already looking to screw over Boeing. and any competitor to Boeing is also competition for Airbus. I can’t believe the WSJ and others would say this is great for Airbus as it’s complete nonsense.

I know what I'm getting next!
Heck debut it also in the Camaro, and then turn around and say the Blazer really is Camaro inspired. that would be delicious, simple PR spin and milk the monies. I like that. Truck engine of doom for everyone.

Industry News: Diamler and Volvo Begin Bracing For A Possible Trade War
When talking about Mexico about 80% of the output of every plant there is for U.S. that’s the problem. I don’t like Mexican VINs nothing to do with the quality of the auto or the people who built it - it’s just that the carmakers pretend it’s the same value added but really they get away with paying lower wages. If their argument of lower prices for consumers is not credible, it doesn’t matter where the car is built payment periods are becoming dangerously long In no way am I preaching for UAW either...

Industry News: Diamler and Volvo Begin Bracing For A Possible Trade War
It’s like everyone forgot that lots of auto plants closed here and even if auto makers make investments in America it’s just to keep the current plants relevant for the continued production of the next model, not to actually increase capacity for new models. i find it compelelty stupid for example how the Equinox is built in Canada but the XT5 and now Blazer will be built in Mexico, where the value added is much higher for those lower volume products this profit margin per unit much higher. It’s just dumb that America in the NAFTA market is far and away the biggest buyer and yet proportionally in terms of employment far lower.

I know what I'm getting next!
I know right!? Aren’t truck engines these days so amazing in passengers cars because they are totally overbuilt and understressed! like the LT1- amazing in Corvette and Camaro! the 2.7 - becautiful in Lincoln’s and Ford Sport’s and upcoming ST. Raptor engine in a Lincoln, check! Super overbuilt F150 upgrade to raptor then upgraded to Ford GT. Truck engines should be in everything. Because they are so durable and built to last that they kick ass everywhere else. pls GM put the 2.7 engine of doom in everything and everything. Cadillac should get that too. GMC Denali Terrian = truck engine of DOOM.

Who Wore it Better?
Well here’s another product planning gaffle. The Chevy gets optional body colour or painted glossy black cladding while the XT4/5 gets toning black plastic cheap looking cladding. i don’t get it, I mean yes the XT4 is entry lux for Caddy, hut in in many ways this Blazer is entry-lux for Chevy. I mean Lincoln does this too, why TF does the Edge get the Titanium elite with body colour cladding while Black Label at the very least does not!?

Chevrolet News:Chevrolet Brings Back the Blazer As A Crossover
This is not you. I see you driving this and then being immediately disappointed. Really. This is the automotive equivalent of false advertising. C’mon man Chevy has the balls to call this soft roader a new ‘standard’ for an ‘SUV’. I mean I get it, you hype your stuff, that’s what auto makes do. But alas... This turd is to be condemned for being so goddamn hollow and meaningless when it pretends to be something it isn’t. If they put the 2.7L four pot truck engine of doom that every V6 competitor should be scared of then it’ll make Chevy performance crossovers great not again, but great for the first time, like maybe ever.
